Ronan glanced down at the mess of food spilled all over the floor and said calmly and leisurely, “It looks like you folks have quite the appetite, trying to upset the Beckett family’s bread, huh?”

“No, no, not at all!” Cindy waved her hands frantically, her face turning a shade paler. “I thought it was Freya’s food…”

Ronan’s gaze shifted to Freya standing beside him, her cheek flaming red, a clear handprint visible on her face. He looked at the trio before him and asked, “Who did this?”

“It was… it was me. I didn’t mean to…” Cindy’s voice trailed off into a whisper, hardly able to believe her own words.

“Hit her back,” Ronan said without looking up, gesturing for Freya to retaliate.

The onlookers watched in anticipation. Breva didn’t hesitate, putting all her strength into the slap and almost knocking Cindy off her feet.

“Cindy!” Eloise’s face drained of color. Mae was equally shocked by the scene unfolding before them.

Ronan glanced at Eloise. “Ms. Harwood, did you not inform them about my relationship with Freya?”

Biting her lip, Eloise replied, “Mr. Beckett, my friend was out of line. I apologize.”

“At school, you can call me Professor Beckett.”

“Yes, Professor Beckett.” Even if Eloise was seething with resentment, she had no choice but to swallow her pride.

“Let’s go out to eat,” Ronan said, leading Freya away from the cafeteria. They walked and became the center of attention, with many eyes following them.

Seeing the two leave, Cindy remained in a daze, unable to regain her senses. Annoyed, Mae asked, “Eloise, why didn’t you tell us about Freya’s connection to Mr. Beckett?”

“Yeah, Eloise, I’ve upset Freya today. Do you think Mr. Beckett will give us trouble?” Cindy was visibly scared, clutching Eloise’s arm and nearly in tears. “What do we do? I’ve messed with Mr. Beckett’s plans. If he tells my parents, I’m done for!”

Eloise paused before replying, “Don’t worry. I’ll talk to Kieran. I’ll get Kieran to sort this out.”

Hearing this, Cindy breathed a sigh of relief. “Right, Mr. Sutton is so fond of you. If you ask, Mr. Sutton will help!”

Eloise managed a weak smile. She had thought Ronan and Freya were just a fling since Freya was engaged to the Sutton Group’s heir. She assumed Ronan would distance himself from Freya. But seeing their situation… Ronan appeared far from ready to cut ties with Freya. It seemed she needed to have a word with Kieran after all.
