Chapter 73
The cafeteria courtyard buzzed with activity as Kieran stepped from his luxury car, followed by six bodyguards in sharp black suits. Kieran was the epitome of sophistication, clad in a suit impeccable in every detail, with the Sutton family crest pinned proudly on his chest. His features were strikingly handsome, and his deep-set eyes seemed to draw one in with a glance, radiating an aura that warned strangers to keep their distance.
Cindy and Maeโs eyes lit up with excitement when they saw Kieran.
โCan you believe it? Mr. Sutton himself! He must be here for Eloise.โ
โWho else would he be here for? Surely, not for Freya.โ
Everyone knew Kieran had no interest in Freya. He barely glanced her way, so why would he come to school to see her?
Eloise decided to approach, saying, โItโs crowded here. Letโs see whatโs happening.โ
Eager for some drama, Cindy and Mae followed her.
Eloise walked up to Kieran. โKieran, what brings you to school today?โ
Kieranโs face tensed slightly when he saw Eloise. He had come for Freya and hadnโt anticipated seeing Eloise there.
โMr. Sutton, you must be here for Eloise, right? Weโll leave you two.โ
Mae was sure Kieran was there for Eloise, but as they left, Kieran said indifferently, โNo need. My grandmother sent me to pick up Freya for dinner.โ
He scanned the crowd, instructing his bodyguards, โLook for her over there.โ
Eloiseโs smile vanished as Kieran mentioned Freya. The atmosphere turned awkward, which was noticeable to Mae and Cindy.
Not wanting Eloise to feel bad, Cindy quickly said, โMr. Sutton, if youโre looking for Freya, youโll find her outside the school!โ
Kieran frowned slightly. โYou know where she is?โ
โYeah!โ Cindy exclaimed. โShe went to grab a bite with Mr. Beckett!โ
Mae smirked and added, โYeah, they were all cozy, hand in hand!โ
Kieranโs mood chilled out when he heard the news.
โCindy, Mae, cut it out!โ Eloise interrupted. She hesitated before adding, โIt was just that Ms. Dawson accidentally spilled her meal, so Mr. Beckett took her out to eatโฆโ
โSpilled her meal?โ Kieran scoffed at the explanation. How could a simple spilled meal be such a big deal? Couldnโt she get another serving? It sounded far-fetched to anyone, including Kieran.
Trying to stir the pot, Cindy said, โEloise, thereโs no need to cover for Freya! She wonโt appreciate it, and sheโs violent!โ
Cindy pointed to her swollen face and continued, โMr. Sutton, Iโm sure thereโs something between Freya and Mr. Beckett. She even hit me, thinking Mr. Beckett was protecting her! Look, my face is still swollen!โ
Seeing Cindyโs bruised face, Kieran was surprised at how tough Freya had been.
Kieranโs response was cold, โSearch outside the school. Iโm curious how Ronan is backing her up!โ
