The Amazing Son-in-Law: Chapters 386-390
Chapter 386
As they stared at Charlie Wade, a terrifying aura surrounded him, as if a descending dragon filled the air.
Jason screamed, "Daddy! What the hell is that? Shoot him! Now!"
Justin, trembling in shock, felt his legs weaken. It seemed Charlie Wade had summoned thunder and lightning from the sky.
Jason, frantic, exclaimed, "No one can control thunder and lightning! He's just bluffing, afraid we'll kill him!"
Charlie Wade sneered. "Jason, if you doubt my power, I'll prove you wrong."
Turning to Justin, he said coldly, "Justin Grant, your son's actions sealed your fate."
Raising his hand towards Justin, Charlie Wade commanded, "Thunder, come!"
A deafening bang echoed, followed by a blinding flash that momentarily seared Jason's eyes. When the light subsided, Justin lay dead, his body scorched, still clutching his handgun, but lifeless.
Jason was stunned. How? Moments before, his father stood alive; now, he was seemingly struck by Charlie Wade's summoned thunder and lightning. How could this be?
Shivering and terrified, Jason couldn't comprehend what was happening. Was Charlie Wade truly a dragon, a being from the heavens? Wasn't their society scientifically minded, anti-feudal superstition? Yet, his father lay before him, charred to a crisp, undeniable proof of the impossible.
Seeing Jason's terror, Charlie Wade sneered. "Believe me now?"
Jason's eyes widened, as if he'd seen a ghost. His legs buckled, and he knelt, drenched in cold sweat. He finally understood the respect Don Albertt, Zeke White, and Graham Quinton held for Charlie Wade. If Charlie could summon thunder and lightning, who wouldn't fear him? Charlie Wade's power was absolute.
Desperately, Jason crawled towards Charlie Wade, begging, "Mr. Wade, please! I didn't touch Claire Wilson. Please let me go!"
Charlie Wade sneered, extending his hand towards Jason's legs. "Thunder, come!"
Boom! Lightning struck Jason's legs, instantly numbing them. He looked down to see them turning to coal. Touching them, they crumbled to ash.
Chapter 387
Watching his legs turn to drifting ash, Jason cried out in terror. He finally understood: Charlie Wade was a divine being, and he was insignificant.
Charlie Wade said indifferently, "Since you set your eyes on my wife, there's only one path: death!"
Terror seized Jason. Death? He broke down, sobbing, "Mr. Wade, I've lost my legs! Please, let me go!"
Charlie Wade sneered. "Don't you want to join your father? He died because of you!"
"No! I don't want to die!" Jason cried hysterically. He was too young to die. He wanted to live.
Charlie Wade smiled coldly. "Don't you find it better to live than to die?"
Jason nodded fearfully. Of course, he wanted to live.
Charlie Wade replied, "That proves you're not suffering enough."
Raising his hand, he commanded, "Thunder, come!"
Lightning struck Jason's crotch, reducing it to ash. He scooped up the remains, weeping. His manhood was gone.
Yet, Charlie Wade wasn't finished. "You can still hold ashes. You're not completely disabled!"
He raised his hand again. "Thunder, come!"
Two flashes of lightning charred Jason's arms, snapping them off at the shoulders, leaving only more ash. Now, he was limbless. He begged pathetically for mercy.
Charlie Wade said coldly, "You lust for my wife; you die. I spared you to savor your despair."
Jason panicked. "Aren't you afraid of my family's power? They'll find out, and you'll pay!"
Charlie Wade rolled up his sleeves, kicking aside the ashes. He sat cross-legged, grinning. "Jason, do you know my true identity?"
Chapter 388
Jason hesitated, then whispered, "Aren't you just the Wilson family's useless son-in-law, a piece of trash?"
Charlie Wade smiled. "You think I'm trash, right?"
Jason remained silent.
Charlie Wade grinned. "I am the young lord of the Wade family in Eastcliff, chairman of Emgrand Group. Think your family is more powerful?"
Jason was horrified. The Wade familyโthe wealthiest and most powerful in the country? Why would their young lord become the Wilson family's son-in-law?
Charlie Wade replied calmly, "Mortals cannot see a dragon's true face. There's no need to reveal my identity."
Checking his watch, he said, "It's time, Jason. Hurry and join your father before he gets too far ahead. Keep him companyโฆ"
Jason cried out in fear, but Charlie Wade, standing up, smiled and commanded, "Thunder, come!"
Another deafening bang, and Jason was gone, reduced to ash.
Charlie Wade then called Albert, instructing him to bring men, cars, and fuel to the riverside villa.
Chapter 389
Albert arrived quickly. Charlie Wade took his wife and mother-in-law home, instructing Albert to burn down the villa and tell the media to remain silent.
Back home, Claire and Elaine awoke, frightened. Charlie Wade said, "They fled because they're guilty of kidnapping. The police are after them."
Claire was confused. How did they escape?
Charlie Wade replied, "I called the police before going to the villa. They ran when the police arrived."
Remembering Charlie's courage, Claire wept, thanking him. He smiled, "I'm your husband. It's what I should do."
Chapter 390
Elaine sighed in relief. Claire scolded her mother for her lack of morals, reminding her that they almost died if not for Charlie Wade. Elaine blamed Charlie for the incident. Claire was furious.
Elaine mentioned Jason offering her a Mercedes-Benz S520. Claire demanded an explanation. Elaine claimed Jason offered the car as an apology.
Claire continued to scold her mother's greed and lack of gratitude toward Charlie. Elaine, as usual, started crying and blaming Claire, hoping to avoid accountability. Claire threatened to leave with Charlie.
Elaine then begged Claire not to leave, promising to change. Claire demanded Elaine apologize to Charlie and thank him.
Elaine reluctantly apologized and thanked Charlie, although inwardly still resentful. Charlie decided to give her one last chance.
