The Amazing Son-in-Law: Chapters 576-580
Chapter 576
Jake had no idea what was happening. He couldn't understand why Albert was so deferential to Charlie Wade. Wasn't Charlie Wade just the useless son-in-law of his father-in-law's old classmate? That classmate was pathetic and useless; therefore, his son-in-law should be trash! Why was Albert so respectful to this nobody?
Before he could ponder this, Albert slapped him.
Slap!
Jake felt dizzy, his cheek swelling instantly.
"Don Albert, what are you" Jake stammered, trembling, "Don Albert, did I do something wrong?"
Albert gritted his teeth, cursing, "You're nothing but a lapdog, and you dared to offend Mr. Wade? You're tired of living, aren't you? I'll take you to my dog farm, chop you up, and feed you to the dogs!"
Jake felt his head might explode. Paralyzed with fear, he collapsed. As Albert's lapdog, he knew Albert's ruthlessness; countless people had died at his hands, fed to his fighting dogs.
Jake frantically knelt and kowtowed. "Don Albert, please forgive me! I didn't know he was yourfriend."
"Friend?!" Albert exclaimed, kicking Jake in the chest. "Mr. Wade is the sun and moon in my sky! How could I be his friend?!"
He meant it. Everyone was shocked. Who was Charlie Wade?
Aaron trembled, distressed by Albert's violence but too terrified to intervene.
Albert turned to his men. "Take this dog to the dog farm!"
The bodyguards dragged Jake away. Terrified, Jake cried out, turning to Charlie Wade and kowtowing. "Charlie Wade, it's my fault! Please ask Don Albert to spare my life, for my father-in-law's sake; he was your father-in-law's old classmate for years!"
Charlie Wade smiled. "Asking for my help now? Weren't you chasing me away a moment ago?"
Jake wiped his tears. "Mr. Wade, I was wrong! I'll be your slave for life if you'll forgive me!" His face pale, he continued, "I'll give you all my assets!"
Aaron blurted out, "Jake! That includes the money I gave you! Half belongs to my daughter!"
"Shut up, you old fart!" Jake glared at Aaron. "Are you blind?! I'm about to die!"
Aaron was shocked. "How dare you?! I'm your father!"
"F*ck you!" Jake spat. "If you hadn't asked me to get revenge on Mr. Wade's father-in-law, I wouldn't have offended Mr. Wade!"
Jake looked at Charlie Wade, tears streaming. "This old man made me offend you! He's the culprit!"
Chapter 577
Aaron was furious, his chest heaving. He never imagined his beloved son-in-law would want him dead. He shuddered. "Jake! I was blind to let my daughter marry you!"
Jake only cared about his own survival. If someone had to die, it would be his father-in-law. It was Aaron who'd instigated the whole thing.
Jake pointed at Aaron. "Aaron, you old dog! You made me offend Mr. Wade and Don Albert! You should die instead!"
"You fool!" Aaron waved his hand. "Charlie Wade, don't listen to him! He wanted to cause trouble for you himself!"
Jake cried. "Mr. Wade, I have no reason to offend you! It's Aaron! He was jealous of your father-in-law, and for years he's wanted revenge. He's trying to shirk responsibility!"
Charlie Wade nodded. "He'll suffer. He'll rot in prison for his crimes."
Aaron's heart shook. He knelt, begging for mercy.
Charlie Wade ignored him, turning to Jake. "Weren't you begging for your life?"
Jake nodded frantically. "Yes, Mr. Wade! Please have mercy…"
Charlie Wade replied, "I will spare your life. But there's going to be a classic drama: son-in-law beats up his father-in-law. You know what to do."
Chapter 578
Jake, filled with hatred for Aaron, broke free and punched him. Aaron, an old man, fell to the ground, yelling in pain. Jake, fueled by rage and the need to appease Charlie Wade, beat him mercilessly.
Aaron’s old classmates watched, terrified to intervene. Jacob Wilson reveled in Aaron's suffering.
When Aaron was near death, Charlie Wade stopped Jake. "Stop! He needs to go to prison!"
Jake stopped, spitting on Aaron. "Old dog, you still try to blame me? If not for Mr. Wade, I'd have killed you!"
He knelt before Charlie Wade. "Mr. Wade, are you satisfied? Can you spare my life?"
Charlie Wade nodded. "I'll spare your life, but I'll punish you. Remember what I said? Carrying cement for twenty years?"
Jake collapsed. "Mr. Wade, please! I'll be your dog, your slave!"
Charlie Wade smiled. "Okay, then. Didn't you say you'd be my dog? You'll carry cement for twenty years at a construction site. You're free after that!"
"Huh?!" Jake was devastated.
Charlie Wade told Albert, "Find a construction site, chain Jake, and make him carry cement for twenty years. If he runs, feed him to the dogs!"
Albert nodded. "Mr. Wade, don't worry! I have several sites. I'll put him in the worst one!"
Jake cried, begging for a shorter sentence.
Charlie Wade warned, "Don't bargain with me! I sent two others to Mount Golmin to dig ginseng for life. You'll go there too!"
Albert added, "The drive to Mount Golmin takes three days and nights, in freezing winter temperatures!"
Jake was terrified. "No, no! Don Albert, I accept my fate! I'll carry cement!"
Chapter 579
Jake had resigned himself to his fate. Compared to Mount Golmin, carrying cement for twenty years was a blessing.
Albert sneered. "You're lucky. I could have fed you to my dogs."
Jake nodded gratefully. "Thank you, Mr. Wade. Thank you, Don Albert…"
Albert ordered his men to take Jake to the construction site, allowing him only two days off a month.
Albert pointed at the unconscious Aaron. "Mr. Wade, what about him?"
Charlie Wade replied, "The police will be here soon."
Police officers arrived, arresting Aaron.
One officer asked, "Captain, he's injured and unconscious."
"Send him to the hospital first," the captain said. "We'll detain him after treatment."
Eric asked, "Officer, what crime did Aaron commit?"
"He's suspected of misappropriating over fifty million dollars!" the captain replied.
Everyone was shocked. Aaron, a high-ranking official, had embezzled funds!
Aaron was taken away. His old classmates sighed. They looked at Charlie Wade with awe. He’d dealt with Jake and Aaron swiftly and decisively.
Jacob Wilson was satisfied, his face saved. His classmates complimented him. Some sighed about Jake's absence and the missed second round of activities.
Charlie Wade asked Albert, "What's the highest floor your membership card allows?"
"The tenth floor," Albert replied.
Charlie Wade, "Book a room for these old men."
Albert was surprised, knowing Charlie Wade had an All-Access card.
Chapter 580
Charlie Wade had the All-Access Supreme VIP card, granting access to every floor, including the exclusive fifteenth floor, all expenses covered. But he didn't want Jacob Wilson to know.
Albert understood. He used his VIP card to book a private room on the tenth floor.
Charlie Wade told the old men, "My friend booked room 1008 on the tenth floor. All expenses are covered."
Everyone cheered. They expected only the seventh floor, but they were going to the tenth!
Jacob Wilson was happy. "My son-in-law is capable, unlike Jake!"
They praised Charlie Wade. "Charlie Wade, you're amazing!"
Charlie Wade smiled modestly. "I'm just lucky to know a few friends."
Jacob Wilson asked, "Aren't you coming?"
Charlie Wade, "I'll chat with Albert briefly. Go ahead."
After they left, Charlie Wade asked Albert about Ichiro.
Albert replied, "Don't worry, Mr. Wade. I created a fake video of Ichiro's death and sent it to Jiro."
Charlie Wade smiled. "Take good care of Ichiro. He'll fight for the inheritance; eighty percent will be mine."
Albert nodded.
Charlie Wade nodded. "Good job. Go ahead. I'll join my father-in-law later."
Charlie Wade waited for the elevator when Jasmine, beautifully dressed, stepped out. She looked stunning.
Jasmine was overjoyed to see Charlie Wade. "Mr. Wade, why are you here? Why didn't you tell me?"
