Chapter 781

“Enough!” Lady Wilson’s chest heaved violently. Staring at Elaine Ma, she spat, “You shrew! Even if the Wilson family is down, we'll rise again. Your family will never return to the Wilson house.”

Jacob Wilson quickly intervened, “Elaine, how can you speak to Mom like that? Apologize!”

Elaine Ma frowned, “You forgot how she threw us out? Now she wants us back? You treat her like a mother, but does she treat you like a son?”

Pointing at Lady Wilson, Elaine Ma continued, “Lady, you're still pretending? Even if you kneel and beg, I won't go back! The Wilson family is selling furniture to survive—who would return to that?”

Lady Wilson, enraged, jabbed a finger at Elaine Ma’s nose. “Elaine Ma, in all my years, you’re the first to dare talk to me like this! Remember this day. I will break your leg and make you kneel and kowtow!”

Elaine Ma scoffed, “Oh, please! You’re practically in the grave already. Break my leg? Here it is; try it!” She extended her leg, sneering contemptuously.

Lady Wilson seethed, wanting to break Elaine Ma’s legs, but she hesitated in Charlie Wade’s presence. She remembered his single-handed defeat of a group of bodyguards.

Harold Wilson, usually arrogant, remained silent, hiding his face. Christopher, his face grim, returned with the furniture buyer.

“Mom, let’s go. They bid too low,” Christopher announced.

The boss explained, “Madam, 1.1 million is generous. The furniture is average quality, old, and damaged. I’ve offered a fair price. You won’t get more elsewhere.”

Lady Wilson exploded. “One million, one hundred thousand for this furniture? You’re robbing us!”

“It’s a fair price. Check around if you doubt me,” the boss replied helplessly.

Lady Wilson snorted. “Let’s go! We’ll find another buyer!”

Jacob Wilson offered, “Mom, I’ll give you 1.2 million. I have sentimental value for Dad’s furniture.”

Lady Wilson gritted her teeth. “I’d burn it first! I’ll never sell it to you!” She gestured to Christopher. “Let’s go!”

Christopher glared at Jacob before accompanying Lady Wilson out.

Jacob shook his head, sighing, “The Wilson family… selling our possessions… That furniture… my father’s favorite…”

Claire comforted him, “Dad, Grandma has a temper. Let’s look at other furniture.”

Jacob sighed and addressed the salesperson, “Let’s look again. Your Fujian rosewood is too expensive, and the Burmese is taking too long.”

Chapter 782

The salesperson nodded, “Come back anytime.” The Wilsons were gone.

Jacob visited several shops, finding nothing he liked. Elaine Ma, growing impatient, suggested buying bedroom and dining room furniture to avoid a fruitless day.

Jacob agreed. Elaine chose a bed, Claire chose one as well. They quickly selected wardrobes, a dining table, and cabinets, along with appliances—totaling over $700,000.

Elaine Ma quietly calculated. Knowing Jacob had over $1.2 million left, she worried he'd squander it on a rosewood sofa. She whispered, “Jacob, if you can’t find a suitable rosewood sofa, buy a European style one. We can buy a $1 million Persian red pearwood sofa later.”

Jacob replied, “Don’t worry about the sofa. We have enough furniture for the bedrooms and dining room.”

Elaine Ma became agitated. “Why won’t you listen? A ready-made sofa will be delivered today; we can move in tomorrow! If you keep searching, we won’t have enough for Fujian rosewood, and you won’t settle for Burmese. How long will this take?”

Jacob hesitated. $1.2 million was a lot for a rosewood sofa. Delaying the move was a problem. Elaine's suggestion was tempting.

Chapter 783

Charlie Wade interjected, “Dad, I think Mrs. Wilson will contact you soon.”

Jacob asked, “Why?”

Charlie Wade smiled, “Because of the money! They’ll need more than the 1.1 million. You’ll likely get the highest offer after a round of attempts.”

Elaine Ma scoffed, “Nonsense! She said she’d burn it before selling it to us!”

Charlie Wade calmly replied, “They’re broke. Dad offered an extra $100,000—a significant sum for them. Lady Wilson is shrewd; she won’t pass that up.”

Elaine Ma sneered, “You think you're a feng shui master, seeing through everything? If she swallows her pride and sells the furniture, I’ll eat it!”

Jacob’s phone rang. “It’s my brother,” he said, answering.

Christopher’s voice was cold, “You want the furniture for $1.2 million? Is that true?”

Jacob exclaimed, “Yes! 1.2 million!”

Christopher said, “Fine. Deposit the money into Mom's account, and it’s yours.”

Jacob countered, “Send it to Thompson First A05. I’ll pay after delivery.”

Christopher hesitated, “Okay. It’s already loaded.”

Jacob said, “See you at Thompson First!” He hung up, excited. “Charlie, you were right! They’ll sell!”

Elaine Ma’s face fell. She was proven wrong, and Jacob would have no money left. She glared at Charlie.

Charlie ignored her. They had bought other furniture, so he drove them to Thompson First.

Chapter 784

Thompson First A05 was complete, except for furniture. The luxury was breathtaking, the living room magnificent, with polished marble floors.

Elaine Ma was ecstatic. Jacob was awestruck. “Last time, the decoration was unfinished. Now… it’s more stylish than a palace!”

Claire, knowing interior design costs, whispered to Charlie, “This decoration must cost tens of millions. Why is Mr. White so generous?”

Charlie replied, “He’s wealthy. Giving away a $100 million villa makes tens of millions in decoration seem insignificant.”

Claire was amazed, “I’ve never seen such luxury.”

Charlie thought of his childhood in the Wade family mansion, far more luxurious than this.

As the family marveled at the villa, Christopher arrived with the furniture.

Jacob directed the movers. Lady Wilson, Christopher, Harold, and Wendy exited the truck and surveyed the courtyard. The renovation was luxurious, making them uncomfortable.

Christopher went inside. When he returned, his face was even grimmer.

“Christopher, how’s the decoration?” Lady Wilson asked.

Christopher sighed, “I’ve never seen such luxury. It’s dizzying!”

Lady Wilson exclaimed, “I want to see it!” Harold agreed. Wendy felt complicated; she should have lived there.

Chapter 785

Wendy said, “Grandma, I’ll come too!” She supported Lady Wilson with Harold.

The three entered the living room, speechless at the magnificence; a huge crystal chandelier dominated the high ceiling.

Lady Wilson’s legs trembled. Her villa paled in comparison. She imagined living there, but knew it was impossible. She felt Jacob was lucky to have Charlie. She regretted not being kind to them.

Harold and Wendy felt worse. Wendy’s life had crumbled.

The movers finished. Jacob checked the furniture, overjoyed. He approached Lady Wilson.

“Mom, everything’s fine. How do I pay you?”

Lady Wilson looked at him with a complicated expression. “Jacob, you’re my son. I’ll give you the furniture.”

Jacob protested, “Mom, how can I accept this? Even your brother wouldn't agree. Besides, the Wilsons need the money.”

Lady Wilson shook her head. “Jacob, I’ll give it to you.”

Elaine Ma was thrilled. But then Lady Wilson sighed, “Jacob, our villa will be taken. Mom will be on the streets. Your villa is so big… shouldn't you give Mom a room?”

The expressions of everyone changed. Elaine Ma understood her intention: Lady Wilson wanted to live in their villa! She scoffed.

Jacob also saw through her plan. Charlie worried as well. Harold and Wendy were shocked and angry. Lady Wilson’s actions would ruin them.

Elaine Ma spoke first, sneering, “Oh, your wishful thinking is great. You want to exchange a set of broken furniture for a room in our $150 million villa? A bedroom is worth tens of millions, how much is your furniture?”

Lady Wilson, desperate for shelter, said innocently, “My dear, this furniture is a small gift. How can I measure it by money?”

Elaine Ma said, “Let’s use money. It’s 1.2 million. We’d rather pay you than let you move in!”

Jacob agreed. He didn't want his mother to live with them. He said, “Mom, send me your account number; I’ll transfer the money!”

Lady Wilson's face hardened. “What? Are you cutting me off?”

Jacob said, “Mom, I’m not cutting you off, but…”

“Where is my mother in your eyes?” Lady Wilson raged. “You won’t even give me a room! You want me to starve and freeze! You have no conscience!”

Elaine Ma interrupted, “Don’t play this game. Sell your sofa. Why are you relying on us? You broke the relationship and drove us out. Now you regret it, but we don’t. We’re much happier since leaving. We won’t reconcile.”
