The Amazing Son-in-Law: Chapters 786-790

Chapter 786

Jacob Wilson repeatedly nodded. He understood the chaos of having a difficult mother-in-law; it was like living in a whirlwind. Two shrewish women in the family? Forget about it. He cruelly said, "Mom, give me your card number. I'll send you the money, or you can have the movers take the furniture."

Lady Wilson was furious. She lunged at Jacob, ready to slap him, but he quickly retreated, preventing her attack. She trembled at his defiance, further aggravated by her inability to enjoy the luxurious villa. Every inch of her being felt prickled with discomfort.

She had no choice. Glaring at Jacob, she gritted her teeth and said, "Fine! Good son! From now on, we're cutting all ties! Don't even come if I die!"

Elaine Ma chimed in, "Good riddance."

Lady Wilson coughed violently, produced a bank card, and yelled at Jacob, "Transfer the money! 1.21 million!"

Elaine Ma frowned. "Why 1.21 million? Didn't you say 1.2 million?"

Lady Wilson snapped, "Hiring a car and movers isn't free!"

Elaine Ma retorted coldly, "What does that have to do with me? Should I reimburse you for your toilet paper too? You want to claim that?"

Lady Wilson cursed, "You shrew! I'll slap that foul mouth of yours!" She lunged at Elaine.

Elaine Ma wasn't as easily intimidated as Jacob. She forcefully deflected Lady Wilson's hand, coldly saying, "What? Want to fight? You're right, I am a shrew. But you're something worse! Old shrew, try that in my house. Believe me, I'll shut you up!"

Elaine Ma, having endured years of abuse, finally had her revenge.

Jacob, meanwhile, transferred the money and said, "Mom, the 1.21 million is transferred. Check it. Leave if everything's fine."

Elaine Ma interjected, "You have money to burn? Give me $10,000 for a spa. What good did we do for her? It's like feeding the dog!"

Jacob waved her off. "Okay, that's enough."

Lady Wilson received the money, glared at Elaine, and coldly said, "Elaine Ma, you're going to pay for this. I'll open your mouth!" Then, to Harold and Wendy, "Let's go!"

Harold and Wendy sighed in relief. They feared Jacob wouldn't stand firm. Letting Lady Wilson stay would have ruined their family. They were glad she failed.

Chapter 787

Outside, Christopher asked Lady Wilson, "Mom, did you get the money?"

Lady Wilson, scowling, replied, "Let's go!"

Seeing her anger, Christopher pulled Harold aside and whispered, "What's wrong? Is Grandma angry?"

Harold, after some distance, whispered, "Dad, Grandma's awful!"

Christopher growled, "We rely on your Grandma! Don't say that, she might hear you!"

Harold retorted angrily, "Dad! Do you know what Grandma said to Uncle Jacob? She said the furniture was a gift, that if he just gave her a room, she'd move in! Luckily, he ignored her, and Elaine even scolded her!"

Christopher's expression changed drastically. His own mother was a mess! Before the family's downfall, she looked down on Jacob's family and had driven them away. Now, seeing Jacob living in a large villa, she wanted to leech onto them? She wanted the villa without considering his family of three! His wife had run off with the money, leaving them with no income, forcing them to sell antiques to survive. And now, his mother wanted to abandon them for her own gain!

Furious, he whispered to Harold, "We need to get Grandpa's antiques from Grandma, to save ourselves."

Harold replied, "Grandma's reluctant to let go! I've asked, she never gives a straight answer. That old woman's shrewd!"

Christopher said coldly, "We'll get them slowly. Keep an eye on Grandma, follow her everywhere except the bathroom!"

"Okay!"

The Wilsons left, leaving Elaine in the new villa, laughing triumphantly. While still resenting Jacob for changing his phone password and spending their money, she had humiliated Lady Wilson. She’d overcome decades of grievances. More importantly, she was finally moving into the villa, a luxurious house she'd only dreamed of.

Chapter 788

The second floor mirrored the third. Three rooms: one large bedroom, two smaller ones. Charlie and Claire chose the master suite, leaving the adjacent room for Loreen. Another room became Claire's study.

Charlie pointedly said to Claire, "Honey, the bed we bought is two meters wide, right?"

Claire nodded. "This bedroom is too big. An 1.8-meter bed wouldn't fit."

Charlie smiled. "A 2.3-meter bed, you sleeping alone…is that too wide?"

Claire understood, her face flushing. "What do you mean?"

Charlie chuckled, "Wife, don't you get it? I've slept on the floor for three years. Time for an upgrade?"

Claire stammered, "What upgrade? I don't understand."

Charlie quickly said, "From the floor to the bed."

Claire, blushing, said, "No one stopped you. I asked if you were cold on the floor, and you said you didn't want to get up, who can blame you for that?"

Charlie's eyes lit up. "Wife, once we move in, I'm officially upgrading, okay?"

Claire, shyly replied, "Okay." She quickly left the room.

Charlie was overjoyed. After three years on the floor, it was time to celebrate!

That afternoon, furniture trucks arrived. The bedrooms and study were furnished. They just needed bedding and daily necessities to move in.

Chapter 789

Elaine, luxuriating on her new bed, told Jacob, "I'm staying tonight!"

Jacob frowned. "How can you? No bedding or toiletries!"

Elaine insisted, "I'm not going back to that dump!"

Jacob retorted, "You can't stay. I'll go back tonight and pack our things. If you don't want to come, you stay here alone."

Elaine, remembering the lack of bedding, angrily agreed to clean up together that night and move the next day. Then, she asked, "How much money do we have?"

Jacob asked vigilantly, "Why?"

Elaine replied, "Just asking."

Jacob said, "Tens of thousands. Don't even think about it. Want to spend money? Earn it yourself. You eat, live here, but you don't spend the money."

Elaine exploded. "Jacob Wilson, I'm being nice to you! You've become arrogant!"

Jacob said coldly, "Don't forget you lost over two million! I'm being kind to you!"

Elaine screamed, "Don't act like that! You changed the phone password to Matilda's birthday! I haven't settled the score with you yet! I gave you everything for over 20 years, and you still think about that…that woman! Do you still want to be with her?!"

Chapter 790

Jacob panicked! He knew Elaine tried unlocking his phone, but thought she failed. He hadn’t expected her to know he'd used Matilda’s birthday. He was flustered and frightened! Thankfully, he had a separate payment password.

Elaine, seeing his silence, attacked him. "You've been so high and mighty! Hitting me, scolding me why so quiet now? I'm revealing your dirty secrets!"

Jacob denied, "I'm not talking nonsense! I don't have dirty thoughts!"

Elaine retorted, "The password's her birthday! You're lying! Thank goodness, she’s in America. Otherwise, you couldn't hide cheating on me!"

Jacob blushed. "Why call Matilda a vixen? We were good back then. You got me drunk and slept with me; I ran away with you. Matilda was tricked by you, you’re the fox!"

Elaine raged, "A fox? I bore your child, and I’m the fox?"

Jacob exploded, "You're a vixen! If you hadn't slept with me drunk, I would've married Matilda!"

Elaine slapped him, screaming, "You dare call me a vixen and defend Matilda? I'll fight you!"

Jacob, enraged, kicked her, and cursed, "I've tolerated you for 20 years! I'm done! We'll divorce! Many bedrooms in this villa. We’ll separate before the divorce."

Elaine, crying on the floor, shouted, "Jacob Wilson! You're ungrateful! You still think of other women! You want to divorce me! Claire, help your mother!"

Claire, hearing the commotion, said, "They're fighting again!" She and Charlie rushed upstairs. They found Elaine crying, "My dear girl, help me, otherwise, this ungrateful man will be my death!"

Claire helped her, asking, "What's wrong? The new house is great! Why are you fighting again?"

Elaine pointed at Jacob. "Your shameless father changed his phone password to his first love’s birthday. He called me a vixen! I was pregnant with you back then, he was with his first love! He hates our marriage!"

Claire, distressed, asked Jacob, "Dad, is it true?"

Jacob, ashamed, stammered, "Claire, what I said to your mother wasn’t against you. I always loved you."

Claire, unaware of the past, said, "Dad, I don't care what happened between you and Mom. You’ve been married for 20 years. Respect that!"

"Changing your password to your first love's birthday is infidelity! If you don't love Mom, divorce her, but don't do this before the divorce!"

Jacob felt helpless. He knew his daughter was right. He shouldn't have done that.

He apologized, "Claire, you're right. I was wrong, I apologize."

Claire said, "Apologize to Mom."

Jacob apologized to Elaine.

Elaine immediately demanded, "Change your passwords to my birthday! Phone, bank, payment!"

Jacob retorted, "You just want to control the money! Why this drama?"

Elaine insisted, "I want respect!"

Jacob agreed, and transferred the remaining tens of thousands to Charlie, then changed the passwords.

Elaine snatched the phone, checked, and found the account was empty! Jacob had transferred everything to Charlie! He would rather give it to Charlie than her! She couldn’t confront him in front of Claire. She’d settle the score later.
