The Amazing Son-in-Law: Chapters 806-810
Chapter 806
Two police officers escorted Harold out. He glared at Charlie Wade, angrily shouting, "Charlie Wade, did your trash frame us?!"
Charlie Wade smiled. "Guess what?"
Christopher yelled, "Being a Wade means retribution! You'll be slashed a thousand times!"
"Shut up!" the lead officer barked.
The police then escorted the four Wilson family members to a patrol car and drove them to the station.
Elaine Ma watched them go, dancing and cheering, "Great! That old hag finally got what she deserved!"
Jacob Wilson sighed. "Elaine, have some decency. She's still my mother."
Elaine curled her lip. "I don't care who you love; she's not living in my house!"
Claire Wilson, who had remained silent, sighed. "Grandma's destitute now. Maybe she could stay in our old house?"
Elaine scoffed. "In my dreams! I'd rather house four pigs! Have you forgotten how she treated us?!"
Claire sighed again. "She's still my grandmother; I can't completely abandon her."
Elaine waved her hand dismissively. "Don't feel sorry for me. Christopher and his family have long deserved this! Let them rot in detention!" She added with regret, "It's a shame I can't watch Old Lady Wilson's misery in her cell. I'd watch a video of it twenty times a day!"
Claire shook her head. "Maybe some time in detention will teach her a lesson and help her change." Turning to Elaine, she said, "Mom, if nothing comes up this afternoon, I'll go to the company."
Loreen chimed in, "I need to go back to the company too. Shall we carpool?"
"Okay," Claire replied.
Claire and Loreen quickly cleaned up and left. Charlie Wade saw them off. He then received a WeChat message from Cameron Isaac: "Master, the Wilson family is detained for 15 days for disorderly conduct. They're at the detention center."
"Good," Charlie replied. "Well done."
Isaac asked, "Master, fifteen days seems short. Should I extend it to a year or two?"
"No," Charlie replied. "A year or two, they'd at least have food and shelter. Let them experience life on the streets."
"Yes, Young Master."
Charlie put away his phone and saw Elaine tossing the Wilsons' luggage into the trash. They'd arrive home miserable, with no change of clothes.
Chapter 807
Elaine believed Charlie would obey her. With the money in her account, she'd treat her friends and live the high life.
Charlie shook his head when she asked for money. "Mom, I can't give you this money."
Elaine frowned. "Why?"
Charlie said calmly, "Dad's managing the finances now. You need his approval."
"What are you saying?!" Elaine snapped. "Am I not being reasonable?"
Charlie nodded. "For money, Dad must agree."
Elaine fumed. "Don't use Jacob to pressure me! I'm your mother! You must give me money!"
Charlie smiled. "You can have it. If Dad agrees."
Elaine pointed at him, furious. "Are you defying me?"
Charlie retorted, "Mom, you said Dad would manage the money. I'm just following your decision."
Elaine gritted her teeth. "Stop the nonsense! Give me the money!"
Charlie held out his hands apologetically. "Sorry, Mom. Even if you kill me, without Dad's approval, I won't give you the money."
Charlie left, leaving Elaine fuming. She considered asking Jacob, but knew he'd refuse. He was more stubborn than Charlie.
She was frustrated; her friends were waiting.
Chapter 808
A thought struck Elaine. Charlie often cheated wealthy clients with feng shui scams, earning millions. He might have hidden money—perhaps from his BMW purchases.
She went upstairs, finding Charlie and Claire's unlocked room. She searched the cabinets, finding nothing valuable. Then she spotted Charlie's coat, finding a black Citibank gold card. Unable to read the English, she only knew it was from Citibank, but it looked expensive. She decided to steal his money.
Chapter 809
Charlie was cleaning the kitchen when his phone rang—it was Mrs. Lewis, his orphanage benefactor. He was overjoyed. He hadn't contacted her since her successful kidney transplant.
Mrs. Lewis's voice was kind. "Charlie Wade, how are you?"
Charlie excitedly inquired about her health. She was recovering well and would soon return to Aurouss Hill. She then confessed she didn't know he'd paid her massive medical bills.
Charlie insisted it was his duty, reminded her of his destitute childhood, and how she'd saved him. He insisted she didn't need to repay him. Mrs. Lewis, however, was determined to repay him. They discussed his relationship with Claire, which Mrs. Lewis hoped would lead to marriage and children. Charlie, though he hadn't slept with Claire yet, reassured her.
Chapter 810
Meanwhile, Elaine rushed to Citibank. She tried Claire's birthday as the password—incorrect. She tried their wedding anniversary—incorrect. She called Claire to ask for Charlie's birthday. Claire told her it was the second day of the second lunar month (March 13th, solar calendar). Elaine guessed he'd use the lunar date, and it worked! The balance: 21.9 billion!
