The Amazing Son-in-Law: Chapters 826-830 (Revised)
Chapter 826
The prison guard stepped back, withdrew his leg, and told the two food carriers, โHurry up.โ
They hurried forward and followed the guards out. Elaine Ma felt a surge of panic.
As soon as the iron gate clanged shut, Gena approached Elaine Ma, his face dark, teeth gritted. โElaine Ma, youโre quite bold, accusing me?!โ
Elaine Ma cowered. โIโm sorry! I was confused. Please forgive me!โ
โForgive you?โ Gena raised his arm and slapped her. Elaine Ma reeled from the blow.
Lady Wilson, trembling with rage, stepped on Elaine Maโs fingers. โYou dog! Thatโs not enough! Iโll have fifteen days to make you pay!โ
Gena chimed in, โLady, sharing a cell with this ungrateful wretch is torture. If I were you, I wouldn't want to leave in fifteen days! I'd beat her five or six times a day to vent my anger!โ
Lady Wilson nodded vigorously. โHonestly, I wouldnโt want to leave if I could beat her daily!โ
Elaine Ma pleaded, โMom, forgive me! If you and this woman stop hitting me, Iโll arrange a room for you at Thompson First!โ
Lady Wilson snorted. โAre you stupid? You donโt know how long youโll be here, so how can you arrange anything for me?!โ
Elaine Ma said, โIโll write you a letter when you leave. Take it to Claire Wilson. Sheโll understand and let you stay there!โ
Lady Wilson frowned. โReally?โ
โReally!โ Elaine Ma nodded, weeping. โClaire is very filial. If I ask, sheโll agree!โ
Lady Wilson hesitated. She hated Elaine Ma intensely, but the temptation of Thompson Firstโs A05 villa was strong. The thought of enjoying the villa while Elaine Ma remained imprisoned was appealing.
She said, โElaine Ma, write the letter now. Iโll stop once youโre done.โ
Elaine Ma, ever shrewd, blurted out, โMom, if you let me go, I'll write it the day you do!โ
Lady Wilson wasn't fooled. โTrying to trick me? If I let you go and you don't write, I'll be the fool.โ
Gena smirked. โLady, itโs simple. If she writes that everything is fine, great. If not, beat her ten or twenty times a day. She'll write then.โ
Elaine Ma cried, โYou canโt do this! Youโll kill me!โ
Gena grinned. โDonโt worry, if itโs fatal, Iโll tie your sheets to the ceiling and say you committed suicide!โ
Chapter 827
Genaโs words terrified Elaine Ma. She believed him; his viciousness and the beating had traumatized her.
Lady Wilson, emboldened by Gena, kicked Elaine Ma. โWrite or not?!โ
Elaine Ma cried out in pain. โIโฆ Iโll writeโฆโ
Gena slapped her again. โCheap bone! I'll beat you until you're honest!โ
Elaine Ma sobbed, โYou didnโt explainโฆ you just started hitting meโฆโ
Gena gritted her teeth, slapped her hard, and cursed, โTalking back? Iโll teach you!โ The blow knocked out two of Elaine Maโs teeth.
Elaine Ma spat out her teeth, crying, โYouโre killing me! I donโt want to live!โ
Gena slapped her repeatedly. โShut up! Do you want the whole detention center to hear you?!โ
Elaine Ma cried, while Lady Wilson gloated. She grabbed Elaine Maโs hair, shaking her violently. โWhy are you crying? Arenโt you tough? Why the tears now? Show those inmates what Aurouss Hill No. 1 Vixen is really like!โ
Wendy interjected, โDonโt be fooled by her! Sheโs heartless! She lives in Thompson Firstโs villa and doesnโt take care of her mother-in-law. She didnโt even buy the villa herself; her son-in-law did!โ
The inmates gasped. โWhat does her son-in-law do?โ
Wendy said, โIt doesnโt matter. Any normal person would be grateful for the villa. She isnโt. She tries to make her daughter divorce him. Beating her is doing the world a favor!โ
Everyone agreed. Elaine Ma was a monster, deserving any punishment.
Gena tossed Elaine Ma a pen and paper. โWrite! Or Iโll hit you!โ
Elaine Ma, trembling, wrote the letter. Lady Wilson snatched it, confirming that Elaine Ma had asked Claire to get her a room. โGood. Now youโll miss out on Thompson First. Christopher, Harold, and I will enjoy it.โ
Elaine Ma, fearing a life sentence, wept miserably. Gena kicked her. โStop crying! Itโs annoying!โ
Elaine Ma clutched her injured side. โDidnโt you say you wouldnโt hit me?โ
Gena nodded coldly. โI did, but I changed my mind.โ
Elaine Ma, trembling with Genaโs audacity, pleaded with Lady Wilson, who responded with disgust, pinching Elaine Maโs arm. โYou think writing a note stops the beating? You might never get out. Iโll have fifteen days to beat you.โ
Chapter 828
Lady Wilson slapped Elaine Ma again. โEver since Jacob wanted to marry you, Iโve disliked you. Iโll make you pay for years of disgust!โ
Elaine Ma was devastated. Lady Wilson was shameless! With Gena present, she dared not complain. She hoped this was a nightmare.
The food carriers returned with two large baskets of lunch boxes. A cheer erupted, and people began to eat. Gena planned to let Elaine Ma eat. Lady Wilson and Wendy also ate.
Wendy noticed the familiar dish. It was the same as lunch. She felt nauseous.
Lady Wilson asked, โWendy, why arenโt you eating?โ
Wendy cried, โGrandma, itโs the same as lunchโฆโ
Lady Wilson insisted, โItโs better than what I cook.โ
Wendy sighed, โIโm full of this flavor.โ
Gena warned, โThis meal is good. If you donโt eat now, youโll wait until seven tomorrow morning. No supper.โ
Wendy asked, โCan I save it?โ
Gena said, โYou have half an hour. After that, theyโll collect the tableware. You can take it, unless you pour it in your basin and eat later.โ
Wendy, spoiled, couldnโt bear that, and hastily ate.
Chapter 829
Elaine Ma, battered and hungry, cautiously took a lunch box. Gena shouted, โElaine Ma, what are you doing?โ
Elaine Ma stammered, โIโฆ I want to eatโฆโ
โEat?โ Gena scoffed. โYou ungrateful wretch even dares to eat?โ
Gena snatched the lunch box. โYou donโt deserve to eat. Go away.โ
Elaine Ma cried, โSister, Iโm starving! Please let me have a few bitesโฆโ
Gena smiled cruelly. โYou live in Thompson First, you shouldnโt need this food.โ
Elaine Ma pleaded, โSister, Iโm really hungry. Donโt let me starveโฆโ
Gena said coldly, โYou wonโt die in two or three days.โ
Elaine Ma begged, but Gena threatened to kill her. Elaine Ma, terrified, hid in a corner, watching Gena eat her meal.
Chapter 830
Charlie Wade was preparing dinner at Thompson First. Claire and Loreen returned. Loreen offered to help, but Charlie Wade refused.
Claire entered the kitchen and asked, โCharlie, have you seen Mom?โ
Charlie Wade feigned surprise. โWhatโs wrong? Mom isnโt back?โ
Claire explained that her mother hadnโt been in contact since the afternoon.
Charlie Wade said, โI donโt know where Mom is. She asked for money for dinner with friends, but Dad said no.โ
Claire pondered, โThis is odd. She wasnโt home, nor with friends. Where could she be?โ
Charlie Wade suggested she might be playing mahjong.
Claire said, โThat wouldnโt explain her phone being off. Sheโs never done that before.โ
Charlie Wade said, โMaybe her phone died. Donโt worry, Momโs an adult.โ
Claire sighed, โSheโs not as sensible as an adult. Iโm worried sheโs gotten into trouble.โ
Loreen exclaimed, โAuntieโs missing?โ
Claire said anxiously, โYes! No one has seen her.โ
Jacob entered, asking why they were in the kitchen. Claire asked about Elaine Ma. Jacob coldly replied he didnโt know and didnโt care, wanting her gone. He was angry about the lost money.
Claire pleaded with Jacob to forgive Elaine Ma.
Jacob sneered, โForgive her? Never!โ He left.
Claire, helpless, turned to Charlie Wade. โCharlie, you know many people. Can you ask Albertt to check if anyone has seen Mom?โ
Charlie Wade said, โMy wife, sometimes people go out late. Mom only went out for an afternoon. She probably went to play mahjong. Donโt worry about it.โ
Claire said, โIf she isnโt back by ten, Iโll call the police!โ
Charlie Wade said awkwardly, โDonโt bother the police with this.โ
Claire said seriously, โMy aunt disappeared and hasn't been found. If I can't see my mother by ten, we're going to the police station.โ
