The Amazing Son-in-Law: Chapters 826-830 (Revised)
Chapter 826
The prison guard stepped back, withdrew his leg, and told the two food carriers, “Hurry up.”
They hurried forward and followed the guards out. Elaine Ma felt a surge of panic.
As soon as the iron gate clanged shut, Gena approached Elaine Ma, his face dark, teeth gritted. “Elaine Ma, you’re quite bold, accusing me?!”
Elaine Ma cowered. “I’m sorry! I was confused. Please forgive me!”
“Forgive you?” Gena raised his arm and slapped her. Elaine Ma reeled from the blow.
Lady Wilson, trembling with rage, stepped on Elaine Ma’s fingers. “You dog! That’s not enough! I’ll have fifteen days to make you pay!”
Gena chimed in, “Lady, sharing a cell with this ungrateful wretch is torture. If I were you, I wouldn't want to leave in fifteen days! I'd beat her five or six times a day to vent my anger!”
Lady Wilson nodded vigorously. “Honestly, I wouldn’t want to leave if I could beat her daily!”
Elaine Ma pleaded, “Mom, forgive me! If you and this woman stop hitting me, I’ll arrange a room for you at Thompson First!”
Lady Wilson snorted. “Are you stupid? You don’t know how long you’ll be here, so how can you arrange anything for me?!”
Elaine Ma said, “I’ll write you a letter when you leave. Take it to Claire Wilson. She’ll understand and let you stay there!”
Lady Wilson frowned. “Really?”
“Really!” Elaine Ma nodded, weeping. “Claire is very filial. If I ask, she’ll agree!”
Lady Wilson hesitated. She hated Elaine Ma intensely, but the temptation of Thompson First’s A05 villa was strong. The thought of enjoying the villa while Elaine Ma remained imprisoned was appealing.
She said, “Elaine Ma, write the letter now. I’ll stop once you’re done.”
Elaine Ma, ever shrewd, blurted out, “Mom, if you let me go, I'll write it the day you do!”
Lady Wilson wasn't fooled. “Trying to trick me? If I let you go and you don't write, I'll be the fool.”
Gena smirked. “Lady, it’s simple. If she writes that everything is fine, great. If not, beat her ten or twenty times a day. She'll write then.”
Elaine Ma cried, “You can’t do this! You’ll kill me!”
Gena grinned. “Don’t worry, if it’s fatal, I’ll tie your sheets to the ceiling and say you committed suicide!”
Chapter 827
Gena’s words terrified Elaine Ma. She believed him; his viciousness and the beating had traumatized her.
Lady Wilson, emboldened by Gena, kicked Elaine Ma. “Write or not?!”
Elaine Ma cried out in pain. “I… I’ll write…”
Gena slapped her again. “Cheap bone! I'll beat you until you're honest!”
Elaine Ma sobbed, “You didn’t explain… you just started hitting me…”
Gena gritted her teeth, slapped her hard, and cursed, “Talking back? I’ll teach you!” The blow knocked out two of Elaine Ma’s teeth.
Elaine Ma spat out her teeth, crying, “You’re killing me! I don’t want to live!”
Gena slapped her repeatedly. “Shut up! Do you want the whole detention center to hear you?!”
Elaine Ma cried, while Lady Wilson gloated. She grabbed Elaine Ma’s hair, shaking her violently. “Why are you crying? Aren’t you tough? Why the tears now? Show those inmates what Aurouss Hill No. 1 Vixen is really like!”
Wendy interjected, “Don’t be fooled by her! She’s heartless! She lives in Thompson First’s villa and doesn’t take care of her mother-in-law. She didn’t even buy the villa herself; her son-in-law did!”
The inmates gasped. “What does her son-in-law do?”
Wendy said, “It doesn’t matter. Any normal person would be grateful for the villa. She isn’t. She tries to make her daughter divorce him. Beating her is doing the world a favor!”
Everyone agreed. Elaine Ma was a monster, deserving any punishment.
Gena tossed Elaine Ma a pen and paper. “Write! Or I’ll hit you!”
Elaine Ma, trembling, wrote the letter. Lady Wilson snatched it, confirming that Elaine Ma had asked Claire to get her a room. “Good. Now you’ll miss out on Thompson First. Christopher, Harold, and I will enjoy it.”
Elaine Ma, fearing a life sentence, wept miserably. Gena kicked her. “Stop crying! It’s annoying!”
Elaine Ma clutched her injured side. “Didn’t you say you wouldn’t hit me?”
Gena nodded coldly. “I did, but I changed my mind.”
Elaine Ma, trembling with Gena’s audacity, pleaded with Lady Wilson, who responded with disgust, pinching Elaine Ma’s arm. “You think writing a note stops the beating? You might never get out. I’ll have fifteen days to beat you.”
Chapter 828
Lady Wilson slapped Elaine Ma again. “Ever since Jacob wanted to marry you, I’ve disliked you. I’ll make you pay for years of disgust!”
Elaine Ma was devastated. Lady Wilson was shameless! With Gena present, she dared not complain. She hoped this was a nightmare.
The food carriers returned with two large baskets of lunch boxes. A cheer erupted, and people began to eat. Gena planned to let Elaine Ma eat. Lady Wilson and Wendy also ate.
Wendy noticed the familiar dish. It was the same as lunch. She felt nauseous.
Lady Wilson asked, “Wendy, why aren’t you eating?”
Wendy cried, “Grandma, it’s the same as lunch…”
Lady Wilson insisted, “It’s better than what I cook.”
Wendy sighed, “I’m full of this flavor.”
Gena warned, “This meal is good. If you don’t eat now, you’ll wait until seven tomorrow morning. No supper.”
Wendy asked, “Can I save it?”
Gena said, “You have half an hour. After that, they’ll collect the tableware. You can take it, unless you pour it in your basin and eat later.”
Wendy, spoiled, couldn’t bear that, and hastily ate.
Chapter 829
Elaine Ma, battered and hungry, cautiously took a lunch box. Gena shouted, “Elaine Ma, what are you doing?”
Elaine Ma stammered, “I… I want to eat…”
“Eat?” Gena scoffed. “You ungrateful wretch even dares to eat?”
Gena snatched the lunch box. “You don’t deserve to eat. Go away.”
Elaine Ma cried, “Sister, I’m starving! Please let me have a few bites…”
Gena smiled cruelly. “You live in Thompson First, you shouldn’t need this food.”
Elaine Ma pleaded, “Sister, I’m really hungry. Don’t let me starve…”
Gena said coldly, “You won’t die in two or three days.”
Elaine Ma begged, but Gena threatened to kill her. Elaine Ma, terrified, hid in a corner, watching Gena eat her meal.
Chapter 830
Charlie Wade was preparing dinner at Thompson First. Claire and Loreen returned. Loreen offered to help, but Charlie Wade refused.
Claire entered the kitchen and asked, “Charlie, have you seen Mom?”
Charlie Wade feigned surprise. “What’s wrong? Mom isn’t back?”
Claire explained that her mother hadn’t been in contact since the afternoon.
Charlie Wade said, “I don’t know where Mom is. She asked for money for dinner with friends, but Dad said no.”
Claire pondered, “This is odd. She wasn’t home, nor with friends. Where could she be?”
Charlie Wade suggested she might be playing mahjong.
Claire said, “That wouldn’t explain her phone being off. She’s never done that before.”
Charlie Wade said, “Maybe her phone died. Don’t worry, Mom’s an adult.”
Claire sighed, “She’s not as sensible as an adult. I’m worried she’s gotten into trouble.”
Loreen exclaimed, “Auntie’s missing?”
Claire said anxiously, “Yes! No one has seen her.”
Jacob entered, asking why they were in the kitchen. Claire asked about Elaine Ma. Jacob coldly replied he didn’t know and didn’t care, wanting her gone. He was angry about the lost money.
Claire pleaded with Jacob to forgive Elaine Ma.
Jacob sneered, “Forgive her? Never!” He left.
Claire, helpless, turned to Charlie Wade. “Charlie, you know many people. Can you ask Albertt to check if anyone has seen Mom?”
Charlie Wade said, “My wife, sometimes people go out late. Mom only went out for an afternoon. She probably went to play mahjong. Don’t worry about it.”
Claire said, “If she isn’t back by ten, I’ll call the police!”
Charlie Wade said awkwardly, “Don’t bother the police with this.”
Claire said seriously, “My aunt disappeared and hasn't been found. If I can't see my mother by ten, we're going to the police station.”
