Chapter 921

Elaine Ma, though terrified, knew she had to obey the prison guard. She hurried out of her cell with the others. At the playground, the guard instructed them to run three laps, followed by a half-hour of free time, before returning to their cells.

Gena, the cell leader, organized the runners. Glancing at Elaine Ma, she barked, "You're in front. Anyone staring at you, and if you don't run properly, I'll blow your head!" She then softened, addressing the others, "Help the lady and run slowly; don't exhaust her."

Lady Wilson smiled. "Gena, you're sweet. I'm old, but I'm not frail. I'll just walk behind you."

Gena nodded and yelled, "Ready, run!"

Elaine Ma, weakened by hunger and pain, struggled to run. She stumbled, almost falling. A woman behind her kicked her, snarling, "Sorry, husband-stealing women who can't even run straight!" Another woman jeered, "This sorry woman can steal a husband, but she can't even run to her own bed!" The others laughed. Elaine Ma endured the humiliation and ran on.

She spotted three intimidating women in a corner, watching her. As she passed, one grabbed her shoulder, halting the group. Gena demanded, "What are you doing?"

The three women were fierce. The one who grabbed Elaine Ma had a scar bisecting her face, from one eye to her chin. Even Gena, the cell boss, was intimidated.

The scarred woman said, "We're looking for Elaine Ma. Is she here?"

Elaine Ma, panicked, denied knowing anyone by that name. Lady Wilson and Wendy promptly identified her.

The scarred woman slapped Elaine Ma to the ground. The blow was far stronger than Gena's. Elaine Ma spat out a tooth.

Chapter 922

The other inmates were terrified by the scarred woman's brutality, but Lady Wilson reveled in Elaine Ma's suffering. Wendy agreed. Elaine Ma was terrified, but the beating itself wasn't new. She was more concerned about why this woman was attacking her. Was she from the fraud ring, seeking retribution?

Gena intervened, saying to the scarred woman, "Sister, we don't know her. Beat her, kill her, whatever. But we need to keep running."

The scarred woman sneered, "Get out of my way, or I won't be polite!"

Gena urged her cellmates to run, chanting "121, 1211," leaving only the three women and Elaine Ma.

Terrified, Elaine Ma pleaded, "Sister, why are you doing this?"

The scarred woman kicked her stomach. She then produced a black bank card, asking, "Elaine Ma, do you recognize this?"

Elaine Ma's heart sank. It was Charlie Wade's stolen card. The three women were indeed from the fraud gang. The police had claimed to have no leads, yet here they were. Were they going to kill her?

Tears streaming down her face, Elaine Ma denied recognizing the card.

"Are you kidding me?" The scarred woman grabbed her hair and slapped her. "We're here because of you. You alerted the police, and now we face life sentences!"

Elaine Ma apologized, claiming she was also a victim.

The scarred woman ordered her accomplices, "Beat her half to death! We'll beat her twice a day for the next twenty years!"

Chapter 923

The three women brutally attacked Elaine Ma. The other inmates watched in shock from a distance. Even Gena, while having beaten Elaine Ma herself, was appalled by the savagery. Lady Wilson and Wendy, however, cheered them on.

The scarred woman eventually stopped the assault. Elaine Ma was badly injured. The scarred woman threatened, "This is just the beginning. You won't survive this."

Elaine Ma was traumatized, recounting her ordeal since stealing the card: beatings, hunger, cold, and sleeping in the toilet.

The scarred woman threatened her again, silencing her with a kick. Once Elaine Ma was quiet, they left. Two guards appeared shortly after, taking Elaine Ma back to her cell, with Gena helping her.

Chapter 924

The other inmates had mixed reactions – pity, satisfaction, or fear.

At home, Charlie Wade received a call from Cameron Isaac, who reported teaching Elaine Ma a lesson. Charlie thanked him. Cameron suggested letting the law deal with Elaine Ma, but Charlie cryptically referred to her as "a ticket." Cameron pressed for clarification, but Charlie refused to explain.

Chapter 925

Elaine Ma lay on her bed, howling in pain. Lady Wilson mocked her. Wendy predicted her imminent death.

Lady Wilson gloated over Elaine Ma's suffering, even wishing Jacob would find a new wife.

Suddenly, a guard announced Elaine Ma's release. Lady Wilson and Wendy were shocked.

Elaine Ma, ecstatic, celebrated her freedom and taunted Lady Wilson and Wendy, vowing revenge on Gena.

Wendy warned Elaine Ma that she might still face charges.

Elaine Ma angrily cursed them all before leaving with the guard. Gena, enraged by Elaine Ma's threats against her mother, was prevented from retaliating by the presence of the guards.
