Chapter 926

Elaine Ma felt supremely confident. While packing, she coldly addressed the other inmates: “Those of you who’ve beaten me, don’t even think of running! I’ll be waiting for you outside. One by one, I’ll settle this!”

She counted them down, their faces turning blue with anger. Relieved after her outburst, she prepared to leave with the guard when she suddenly felt the urge to urinate.

Muttering to herself, “Damn it, why now… No! This cell is disgusting; I can't relieve myself here. I’ll wait until I'm outside!”

She sneered at Mrs. Wilson and Gena, contemptuously saying, “I need to use the restroom. You two can enjoy yourselves.”

Humming a tune, she sashayed into the toilet. Outside, a stunned silence fell.

Mrs. Wilson clutched her chest, enraged. “My unfilial son must have bailed her out!”

Gena interjected, “He bailed her without even posting bail? What a bastard!”

Mrs. Wilson sobbed, “My son is useless. He’s controlled by that shrew! They want to ruin me…”

She then instigated Gena, “Gena, she’s vicious. She threatened to desecrate your mother’s grave. You must stop her!”

Gena’s blood ran cold. She trembled, stormed into the toilet, thinking, This is my last chance to get her.

Mrs. Wilson and several others who had been scolded followed.

As Elaine Ma was about to relieve herself, the toilet door burst open. Gena’s foot connected with Elaine Ma, forcing her down onto the toilet bowl. Her legs were trapped, causing her immense pain.

Consumed by hatred, Gena snarled, “Beat her! Kill her! Let's teach this arrogant bitch a lesson!”

They pummeled Elaine Ma. Wendy, who had long desired revenge, seized the opportunity. Holding Elaine Ma’s leg, she whispered to Mrs. Wilson, “Grandma, let’s break her leg! We won’t get another chance!”

Mrs. Wilson nodded fiercely.

Chapter 927

Mrs. Wilson, heartbroken over losing the chance to live in Thompson First’s villa, hated Elaine Ma intensely. Elaine Ma's arrogance had fueled her resentment. This was the last chance to get revenge.

Ignoring her age, Mrs. Wilson kicked Elaine Ma’s knee. A sickening crack echoed as Elaine Ma screamed in agony; her leg was broken.

Mrs. Wilson, ecstatic over her success, lost her balance and fell, hitting her tailbone. But Elaine Ma was far worse off, her knee bent at an unnatural angle.

The prison guard shouted, “What’s going on in there?!”

They stopped. Gena smirked, “That bitch was going to kick Mrs. Wilson, but slipped and broke her own leg. Serves her right!”

She helped Mrs. Wilson out. Elaine Ma cried for help.

The guard saw Elaine Ma’s injuries and demanded an explanation.

Gena lied, saying Elaine Ma slipped and fell while attempting to kick Mrs. Wilson. Mrs. Wilson claimed Elaine Ma broke her tailbone. Elaine Ma protested her innocence.

Gena countered, “We have twenty witnesses. You’re lying!”

The guard knew Elaine Ma was beaten, but dealing with twenty inmates would be a logistical nightmare. He warned them that further trouble would delay their release.

Chapter 928

Elaine Ma pleaded, “You can’t let them get away with breaking my leg!”

The guard replied, “Report it, and the police will investigate. But you may also have to go to the station. They might deny everything, and if they claim you attacked Mrs. Wilson, you'll be in trouble.”

Elaine Ma despaired. She knew the prisoners were united and would lie to protect each other. Reporting it would make things worse.

She decided to leave. “I want to go now!”

The guard helped her out. Before leaving, Elaine Ma threatened Mrs. Wilson and Gena with revenge.

At the office, two police officers were waiting. The guard explained the situation. Elaine Ma insisted her leg was broken. The guard threatened further consequences if she didn't cooperate.

An officer said, “You can go home. Get your leg treated later.”

Elaine Ma asked when she’d be released. The officer reminded her of the agreement: silence.

Elaine Ma agreed, fearing further repercussions. They returned her phone. The officer called her son-in-law to pick her up.

Chapter 929

Elaine Ma turned on her phone, overwhelmed by messages from her daughter, Claire. She noticed her husband, Jacob, hadn't contacted her.

She felt resentful, thinking, That old man wasn't even worried!

An officer urged her to call her son-in-law, Charlie. Elaine Ma wanted her daughter to pick her up instead, but the officer explained they needed to confirm Charlie wasn't being targeted by her attackers.

Elaine Ma agreed to call Charlie, explaining the situation as being cheated by an MLM and wrongly arrested.

Chapter 930

Charlie answered Elaine Ma’s call, feigning concern. Elaine Ma curtly instructed him to pick her up from the detention center. She explained that she was injured.

Charlie said the family cars were gone; Claire was at work and Jacob was at a party. Elaine Ma was furious at Jacob. She insisted on going to the hospital.

Charlie called Claire, explaining the situation. Claire was relieved to hear from her mother but would meet them at the hospital.

Charlie arrived at the detention center to find Elaine Ma severely injured; bruised, battered, with missing teeth, and a broken leg.

Charlie was shocked. Elaine Ma demanded to go to the hospital. The officer warned Elaine Ma, who quickly changed her demeanor and apologized to Charlie.
