The Amazing Son-in-Law: Chapters 1011-1015
Chapter 1011
On the Iveco's deck, the seven adults remained unaware that they were ensnared. Ten children, sedated earlier that morning, slept soundly in the back. Ron Richie, a young man missing his right hand, sat in the passenger seat, his excitement palpable.
"Brother," he exclaimed to the driver, "If this deal goes through, it's a million in cash!"
His brother was astonished. "Children are that expensive now? I thought they only cost tens of thousands of dollars."
"There's a shortage," Ron explained. "The Arcadia Province is desperate for children, so prices have skyrocketed."
"Let's do this then!" his brother grinned.
Ron nodded, his face beaming. "Once we get the money, the family's going on vacation."
Inside the spacious Iveco, their mother chimed in, "Oh, after this payday, I want to go abroad. My sister-in-law went to Thailand; she wouldn't stop showing off her pictures. Let's go too!"
Ron chuckled. "Thailand? That's for the poor. A tour group costs two or three thousand dollars. We're going high-end."
"High-end?" his mother asked excitedly. "My son, tell me somewhere fancy. I haven't seen much of the world."
"The Maldives!" Ron declared. "The place for the truly wealthy."
His sister clapped her hands. "The Maldives? I've always dreamed of staying in a luxurious overwater bungalow!"
Ron smiled. "Sister, we'll book tickets the minute we get paid!"
The family of six eagerly anticipated their Maldivian getaway. Ron turned to Jeff, the seventh adult.
"Hey, Jeff," he said, "You're getting $400,000. Got any plans?"
Jeff remained silent, his spirits low. Last night, thugs had threatened him, demanding payment to Caesar Phaeton or facing dire consequences. He'd already sold his car and needed another $300,000. William had provided $620,000, but he still fell short.
Chapter 1012
Desperate, Jeff sought help from Ron, his old friend. Ron, however, was also strapped for cash. He complained about the police crackdown on human trafficking and revealed his plan to procure and sell children. When Jeff mentioned the orphanage, a plan was hatched. Jeff, knowing the orphanage's vulnerabilities, developed a detailed plan. Ron, seeing its feasibility, enlisted his entire family. Jeff was furious at this, realizing that Ron was diluting his share. They eventually agreed on a $400,000 payout for Jeff, and the rest for Ron's family.
Chapter 1013
Helicopters converged near Aurouss Hilll, pursuing the Iveco. Ron had opted for national roads, allowing for easier escape routes should the need arise. Charlie Wade, however, was relentless. Cameron Isaac reported, "Master, they're averaging 40-50 kilometers per hour. We should catch up within 30 minutes."
Wade nodded. "Contact the Wade family's local forces. We'll set a trap."
Isaac identified a bridge. "We'll block the bridge with construction vehicles, trapping them."
Wade approved. Two convoys of trucks, laden with muck, were dispatched, effectively creating an inescapable blockade.
Chapter 1014
Ron's brother noticed the trucks, but Ron dismissed them as material deliveries. The trucks then blocked the road ahead. When they tried to turn back, more trucks blocked their path. Ron's brother realized they were trapped. Ron tried shouting to the truck drivers but received no response. Men emerged from the trucks, vastly outnumbering Ron's family. They were surrounded.
Chapter 1015
Ron and his family felt trapped. They drew the curtains concealing the sleeping children. Ron distributed knives, his family panic-stricken. Jeff, a fraudster, was terrified. Ron attempted to communicate with their captors, receiving only silence. Their situation was dire, with escape seemingly impossible. The family, surrounded by trucks on all sides, braced for the inevitable.
