Chapter 1016

The roar of a helicopter suddenly shattered the tense silence outside. The deafening sound sent a wave of panic through the vehicle.

Jeff, panicked, exclaimed, "What's happening? Helicopters? Who are they?"

Ron's father cautiously parted the curtain, gazing upward. He saw several helicopters approaching in formation. Terror etched his face as he stammered, "There are several helicopters! Even if the police were arresting someone, they wouldn't use helicopters. Have we offended someone powerful?"

As they spoke, the helicopters were directly overhead. Charlie Wade, aboard one of them, surveyed the scene below: the bridge, fractured by several large vehicles, with a dozen more surrounding an Iveco van. Traffickers and children were inside.

Cameron Isaac addressed Charlie Wade, "Master, many of my men are special forces. We could eliminate them all."

Charlie Wade responded coldly, "No need to kill. Keep them alive."

"Understood," Cameron Isaac replied. "I'll have them subdue these bastards first."

"Do it," Charlie Wade commanded.

Cameron Isaac issued the order. A helicopter descended, hovering above the Iveco. Four ropes extended, and four former special forces operatives in black rappelled down. With practiced efficiency, they secured themselves to the van's corners and used portable cutting tools to quickly slice through the roof.

The Iveco's roof was easily breached. Inside, the occupants stared in shock as the opening widened.

The helicopter then began to ascend, the four operatives using suction cups to firmly grip the severed roof. As the helicopter lifted, the Iveco's roof was completely removed, revealing the interior.

The dramatic scene—several helicopters hovering, the exposed van—was witnessed not only by Charlie Wade, but also by Jeff and Ron's family. Additional helicopters flanked the main one, their ex-special forces occupants armed with automatic rifles, poised to eliminate anyone threatening the children—a scene reminiscent of Operation Red Sea.

For a family like the Wades, with their vast wealth, self-preservation was second nature. Special forces, automatic weapons, and helicopters were mere tools. Even armored vehicles would be easily summoned if needed. This was the power of a true elite family. Using such overwhelming force against a few human traffickers was akin to swatting a fly with a sledgehammer. Yet, Charlie Wade felt no waste; this scum deserved to be eradicated swiftly.

Chapter 1017

Charlie Wade activated the helicopter's PA system, his voice booming, "People in the van, you're surrounded! Surrender immediately, or you will die!"

The announcement terrified the seven inside. Ron felt the situation was ludicrous—even if they had committed arson and murder, this level of response was excessive. His family, moments before fantasizing about a Maldivian vacation, were now trapped. Jeff was consumed by panic and regret.

Suddenly, Jeff recognized a familiar voice. It was Charlie Wade. He frantically asked Ron, "What do we do? They have guns. The roof is gone. What if they shoot?"

Ron's sister wailed, "Brother, we're going to die! I'm too young, I haven't even married yet!"

Ron snapped, "I haven't married either!" His fear and confusion were amplified by her cries.

Observing their inaction, Charlie Wade's anger flared. "Three seconds to get out. Or you pay the price!"

He began the countdown. "Three!"

Ron's mother sobbed, "Ron, get out! I'm terrified."

Ron hesitated. Staying offered a slim chance of using the children as shields, but surrendering meant certain death.

"Two!"

Ron's sister urged, "Ron, say something!"

"One!"

Seeing their continued inaction, Charlie Wade ordered Cameron Isaac, "Tell the sniper to take out the driver."

"Yes, Master!"

Cameron Isaac relayed the order. Reports from the snipers followed: Sniper 1 and 2 had obstructed views. Sniper 3 had an 80% chance of a kill, while Sniper 4 had a 95% chance.

Cameron Isaac commanded, "Sniper 4, fire!"

A sniper's rifle barked. A bullet found its mark, instantly ending Ron's life.

Chapter 1018

Ron's family screamed in terror, stunned by the immediate execution. The death of their eldest son, their favorite, sent Ron's parents into a frenzy of grief. Ron, splattered with blood, was paralyzed with fear.

Charlie Wade's voice echoed again, "Three more seconds. Refusal results in another death."

The remaining six, devoid of courage, scrambled from the van, raising their hands in surrender. The brutal display had shaken them to their core. Even Ron's mother, sister, and Jeff had soiled themselves.

Charlie Wade continued, "Kneel at the rear, heads in hands. Any further movement, and you die."

They obeyed immediately. The Iveco was backed away, creating space for Charlie Wade's helicopter to land. Other helicopters rapidly deployed ex-special forces onto the bridge, surrounding the six. Operatives checked the children; they were unharmed, though unconscious from sleeping pills.

Charlie Wade, his mind now focused on these human traffickers and their buyers, disembarked.

As he approached, he saw Jeff among the kneeling group. Rage consumed him. He never imagined Jeff's involvement. He had grown up with Jeff in the orphanage, yet this seemingly harmless orphan had colluded in the abduction of ten children.

Chapter 1019

Jeff's shock was immense. He couldn't comprehend Charlie Wade's power—the helicopters, the heavily armed specialists. Even the city's richest couldn't command this level of force. He wondered, what was Charlie Wade's true identity? Was he really just an orphan, a 'soft rice' son-in-law?

Charlie Wade confronted them, his gaze fixed on Jeff. "Jeff! You're bold!"

Jeff trembled, pleading, "Charlie Wade, it's a misunderstanding!"

"A misunderstanding?" Charlie Wade roared. "You abducted ten orphans, and that's a misunderstanding?"

Jeff wept, explaining that he was forced to participate due to a gambling debt and threats of violence.

Charlie Wade kicked him, shouting, "You, an orphan, understand the pain of orphans! You stole children for money! You deserve to die!"

Jeff, writhing in pain, begged for forgiveness, promising lifelong service to the orphanage.

Charlie Wade scoffed. "You've committed an unforgivable crime."

Ron interjected, blaming Jeff for the entire scheme, pleading for mercy.

Chapter 1020

Ron knew his secrets were revealed. He frantically kowtowed, confessing that Jeff had orchestrated the kidnapping to settle debts.

Charlie Wade pressed for information about the buyers—the Southern Region Gang, an elder from the Beggar Gang. Ron, eager to cooperate, spilled the intricate structure of the Beggar Gang—its leader, John Marcone, a billionaire with significant underworld ties and connections to the Webb family via his sister's marriage to Donald Webb.

Charlie Wade found this information intriguing.
