Everybody returned to their seats as Lady Wilson and Claire Wilson walked onto the stage. Lady Wilson offered a gentle smile and said, “I apologize for the earlier incident. My mistake. Claire Wilson is an exceptional member of our family, and thanks to her efforts, we secured a lucrative contract with the Emgrand Group. She deserves immense credit for this achievement.”
Standing nearby, Doris glanced contemptuously at Lady Wilson. Miss Claire Wilson not only made excellent efforts on this project, but completed it entirely on her own initiative. She seemed discourteous and rude, but everyone was accustomed to it. Given the Emgrand Group's influence, even if Doris had slapped Claire, she wouldn't dare complain.
Lady Wilson nodded. “Indeed. Claire Wilson deserves all the credit. From now on, she will be supervisor of the Wilson Team and will be fully responsible for the project between Wilson Group and Emgrand Group!”
Doris grinned and shook Claire's hand. “I look forward to our collaboration.”
Claire, still somewhat dazed, nodded in confusion. Loud applause filled the hall. Everyone looked at Claire with interest and admiration. What was her background? How had she captivated the Emgrand Group?
Claire was equally confused. She recalled Charlie Wade's earlier prediction—this scene was exactly as he'd described. Her grandmother appointing her supervisor was something she'd expected. Even after the reception and returning home, her confusion remained. Remembering Charlie Wade's words, she found his recent behavior increasingly strange.
Overnight, Claire Wilson's name spread throughout Aurouss Hill. Everyone knew the Wilsons had a remarkable daughter who had secured the Emgrand Group's support. With her, the Wilson family's resurgence seemed inevitable.
The next morning, Claire awoke early, eager to begin her first day as supervisor. Charlie Wade, meanwhile, began his usual chores. While shopping for lunch ingredients, he received a call from his mother-in-law, Elaine Ma.
Her anxious voice blared, “Charlie Wade, get to Pinnacle Opportunity within ten minutes! Or just wait until I get home!”
She hung up before he could respond. Confused, Charlie felt compelled to obey. He found a group of elderly people menacingly surrounding a closed insurance office door. His mother-in-law stood at the front, waving a banner and shouting, “Damn you, Axel! You’re a fraud! We want our money back!”
Charlie rushed forward. “Mom, why did you call? What's happening?”
The seniors’ angry shouts were deafening. Elaine pulled Charlie forward. “Start shouting! My throat hurts from yelling all morning.”
