Chapter 1116

“Pork? Then you must ask where your mother bought it,” Lady Wilson said, frowning at Hannah. “Did you buy the water-infused pork from the black market?”

Hannah quickly shook her head. “Impossible. I watched the vendor cut the pork from the half-a-pig. There’s absolutely no problem.”

Wendy weakly asked, “What about the noodles? Aren’t the dumpling noodles the issue?”

Hannah shook her head again. “The noodles are fine; I ate some a long time ago.”

The noodles and pork were fine. Could the leeks be the problem?

Hannah said, “Something must be wrong with the leeks. Maybe there’s pesticide residue.”

Lady Wilson frowned. “Freshly cut leeks shouldn’t be a problem, and the sea dragon was washed. Even if there was residue, it would have been washed away.”

Harold added, “I washed them thoroughly. I rinsed each leek individually.”

The Wilsons repeated their statements, unable to determine the cause of their illness. They could only stare blankly.

The doctor sighed. “If we can’t figure it out, we’ll have to treat you symptomatically. We’ll send your blood and secretions to the lab. The test results will determine the type of poisoning.”

Lady Wilson weakly nodded. “Then test us quickly!”

After an hour, the doctor returned with several test reports.

“Your test results are in,” he announced. “All five of you have daffodil poisoning, and the dosage was quite high. Do you grow daffodils?”

Lady Wilson was stunned. “Daffodil poisoning? What’s that?”

The doctor explained, “Daffodils are often used as ornamental plants. Before blooming, they look like leeks. Many people mistake them for leeks every year.”

He showed Mrs. Wilson pictures of daffodils on his phone. “This is it.”

Lady Wilson’s face turned green. Trembling, she exclaimed, “This… this is the new leeks from Charlie Wade’s garden! Those were daffodils!!!”

She looked to the heavens and cursed, “Charlie Wade, you’re so venomous! How can such a devil exist?!”

The doctor asked, surprised, “Did someone poison you? You should call the police!”

Harold shouted, “Grandma, call the police! Arrest Charlie Wade!”

Lady Wilson, furious, dialed 110.

The operator answered, “Hello, this is the emergency line. What’s the problem?”

“Comrade officer,” Lady Wilson said, “five members of my family have been poisoned! You must help us get justice and arrest the culprit!”

The operator was alarmed. “What happened? Tell me in detail.”

“A bastard named Charlie Wade, living at Thompson First Villa A05, planted daffodils disguised as leeks!” she explained. “I cut them this afternoon, made dumplings, and we were poisoned. We’re in the hospital! You must help us!”

Chapter 1117

The operator asked, “You trespassed and cut down someone’s daffodils?”

“Yes!” Mrs. Wilson blurted out. “He planted them near the wall. I thought they were leeks, so I cut some and ate them. Did he commit a crime?”

The operator replied, “I’m sorry, ma’am, but the law doesn’t prohibit growing daffodils. The issue is that you trespassed and stole his property. You’re suspected of theft.”

“What?!” Lady Wilson exclaimed. “I’m poisoned and in the hospital, and I’m suspected of a crime?”

The operator asked, “If someone stole your car and died in an accident, could they sue you?”

Lady Wilson was speechless. She realized Charlie Wade had done nothing wrong; she was the one who had trespassed.

It seemed Charlie Wade had planned this, planting daffodil look-alikes and luring her into taking them. He wouldn’t bear any responsibility!

Lady Wilson was furious. Charlie Wade had outsmarted her! Her family was in the hospital because of her own actions.

Chapter 1118

The doctor explained, “The stomach pumping removed the worst of it, but the daffodil toxins are in your blood. We’ll give you IV fluids to neutralize them.”

Mrs. Wilson said, “Use the best medicine! Don’t skimp on us!”

A medical staff member arrived with a report. The doctor frowned. “Which one of you is Hannah?”

Hannah replied, “I am. What’s wrong?”

The doctor said, “Because you need medication to counteract the daffodil toxins, I need to explain the medication and side effects. You are an elderly pregnant woman. The dosage must be carefully controlled to avoid harming the fetus. Therefore, your recovery will be slower.”

The Wilson family was shocked. Hannah was pregnant?

Chapter 1119

The news stunned the family, particularly Christopher. He knew Hannah had been menstruating when she helped set up Elaine Ma. Her pregnancy must have happened during her disappearance – meaning she’d slept with another man!

Lady Wilson also realized the implication. Hannah collapsed, terrified.

The doctor confirmed, “Your progesterone levels are high, indicating a two-month pregnancy.”

Hannah denied it, fearing her husband, mother-in-law, and children’s judgment.

The doctor insisted, “While unusual at your age, frequent intimacy increases the chance of pregnancy. We see women in their fifties get pregnant in our hospital.”

Hannah yelled, “Shut up! You’re a quack! I’ll call the police! I’m not pregnant!”

The doctor showed her the report. “The report clearly states you are pregnant! But for your own sake, I’m reminding you that you can’t take large doses of medication!”

Christopher grabbed the report, trembling with rage. Lady Wilson asked, “Son, is it true? This bitch is really pregnant?!” Christopher nodded, confirming the terrible truth.

Chapter 1120

Lady Wilson gasped, clutching her chest. Harold and Wendy were mortified.

Christopher, enraged, glared at Hannah. “Did you sleep with other men in the coal mine?! Who was it?!”

Hannah had planned an abortion for Monday. She never expected a dumpling meal to reveal her pregnancy.

Sobbing, she pleaded, “Christopher, listen! I had no choice!”

“Explain? You shameless bitch!” Christopher roared, grabbing her hair and slapping her.

Lady Wilson, furious, joined the assault. “You slut! You’ve disgraced the Wilson family! You deserve to die!”

The doctor shouted, “Stop! I’ll call the police!”

Wendy and Harold watched, unmoved. They felt ashamed by their mother’s actions. Selfish, they only cared about their embarrassment rather than her situation.

Hannah, battered, pushed them away. “Enough! What if I slept with someone? I was starving, freezing, overworked, and beaten in that coal mine. What choice did I have? If I hadn’t agreed to the supervisor, I might have died!”

She confronted Christopher, “You set up Elaine Ma! I did all this for this family, for a chance to live in a big villa. And this is how you repay me? You have no conscience!”

Lady Wilson and Christopher ignored her explanation. For them, the humiliation was unforgivable. The green hat and the shame were enough for them to lash out at her. Lady Wilson screamed, “The most important thing for a woman is chastity!” Christopher yelled, “You should have died in that coal mine! You’re pregnant with a bastard. You should just kill yourself!”
