Chapter 1111

Elaine Maโ€™s popularity was about to explode. She hadn't expected that after warning Charlie Wade that morning about the Lady, he'd instead bought a large quantity of leeks. Now, she regretted her earlier scolding; she lacked the courage to confront him.

Meanwhile, Claire Wilson asked Charlie, "What's for dinner, honey?"

Charlie smiled. "Don't you usually care? Why the sudden interest?"

Claire smiled. "I want to pick vegetables from the garden. You promised I could choose whatever I wanted this evening."

Charlie nodded. "Let's go together, just like this morning."

Claire blushed, remembering their morning kiss. She glared playfully at Charlie. "You can pick, but don't take advantage of me again!"

Charlie feigned confusion. "Wife, what are you talking about? I don't understand."

Claire huffed. "Stay more than half a meter away from me!" She turned and headed downstairs, Charlie following close behind.

In the garden, Claire spotted the leeks. "Where did these come from? They weren't here this morning."

Charlie smiled. "A friend sent them."

Claire smiled. "Fried shrimp with leeks for dinner, then?"

Charlie quickly responded, "The leeks aren't ready yet."

Claire was surprised. "They look fine. Why not?"

Charlie explained, "They need more time to mature."

Claire nodded. "Okay. Roasted eggplant and Moo Shu pork sound good."

Charlie smiled. "Everything except the leeks is fair game."

The couple gathered vegetables and cooked together, enjoying the experience.

Chapter 1112

The Wilson family was bustling with activity. With so many people, Mrs. Wilson had chopped extra leeks. Lady Wilson made noodles; Christopher chopped meat, complaining, "Why couldn't we buy pre-minced meat? My arms are killing me!"

Hannah replied, "Mom says machine-minced meat doesn't taste the same."

Christopher scoffed, "It's all meat! What's the difference?"

Lady Wilson yelled, "Nonsense! Hand-chopped meat is superior!"

Christopher sighed, "Fine, you're right."

Mrs. Wilson glared. "Chop faster!"

That evening, the meat was minced, eggs fried, and leeks washed. Lady Wilson made leek and egg dumplings and leek and pork dumplings. The family, long deprived of a home-cooked meal, was salivating.

Everyone participated in dumpling making, creating a festive atmosphere. Even Mrs. Wilson, usually ill-tempered, showed a kinder side, teaching her grandchildren. Christopher, too, appreciated the happy atmosphere, especially with his wife back and their family together in their beautiful villa. His feeling? "What more could a man ask for?" Life felt idyllic.

Chapter 1113

They made many dumplingsโ€”enough for ten adults. The five Wilsons devoured them all, leaving only twenty or thirty.

Mrs. Wilson said, "Don't waste these!"

Christopher, Hannah, and Wendy were too full to eat more. Harold suggested refrigerating them for breakfast.

Mrs. Wilson smirked. "Send these to Charlie Wade's house."

Hannah was surprised. "Why?"

Mrs. Wilson smiled, "To show them what their leeks are really like! I'm furious!"

Harold suggested adding laxatives. Christopher questioned how, and Harold explained grinding them into powder and injecting them into the dumplings. Wendy agreed. Mrs. Wilson pointed out a first-aid kit in the storage room. Harold found a bottle of fruit-based laxative, intending to put one pill in each dumpling.

Chapter 1114

Harold, halfway through, suffered severe abdominal cramps. He let out a foul-smelling fart. Lady Wilson scolded him. Wendy was disgusted. Another, even stronger, fart followed, with Harold soiling himself. Christopher exclaimed, "Harold, you shit your pants!" The stench permeated the living room. Lady Wilson lamented the ruined Italian sofa. Wendy asked if he'd inhaled the laxative powder.

Lady Wilson then felt abdominal pain, followed by vomiting and diarrhea, soiling herself. Christopher suffered the same fate. Hannah also became ill.

Harold cried out, "Grandma, something's wrong with those dumplings!" Lady Wilson denied it. Wendy felt like she was dying. Christopher called an ambulance.

Chapter 1115

The Wilson family were victims of daffodil poisoning. While not usually fatal, the effectsโ€”vomiting, diarrhea, fever, convulsionsโ€”were excruciating, especially after consuming a large quantity. Even Charlie Wade hadn't anticipated their enormous consumption.

When the paramedics arrived, three Wilsons had passed out; only Jacob and Wendy were somewhat conscious, but incontinent. The ambulance crew was overwhelmed by the stench.

After gastric lavage and IV fluids, the family began to recover, but remained weak and exhausted in the emergency ward.

A doctor asked what theyโ€™d eaten. Lady Wilson said dumplings. Hannah blamed the dumplings, but Mrs. Wilson insisted they were made with fresh ingredients. Harold brought up the possibility of bad pork.
