The Amazing Son-in-Law: Chapters 1311-1315
Chapter 1311
After Charlie Wade and his father-in-law, Jacob Wilson, left the house, Charlie drove, smiling as he said, "I've waited so long! Finally, the senior college is exchanging with our Calligraphy and Painting Association. It wasn't easy!"
Charlie smiled and asked, "Did you contact Matilda?"
Jacob smiled and replied, "Not yet. I plan to surprise her; it's been days since I've seen her."
Charlie nodded. "But be careful. Don't let Mom know Matilda's back in China, or that you've contacted her. Otherwise, our family will be in chaos."
Charlie understood Elaine Ma's character well. She had several untouchable sensitivities: money and Matilda. While angry about Jacob's impending divorce, she hadn't lost her mind. But if she learned of Jacob and Matilda's meetingโand their clandestine interactions while she was in detentionโElaine would be furious.
Jacob, taking Charlie's warning seriously, nodded. "You're right. I've avoided contact with Matilda."
He sighed. "That woman's still alive and refuses to divorce me. It's a headache."
Charlie chuckled to himself. It would be strange if Elaine willingly divorced Jacob. With nothing to her name, she'd be even less likely to leave the family. Jacob's hopes of getting rid of her were a foolish dream.
Arriving at the Aurouss Hill Gymnasium, Charlie said goodbye to his father-in-law and exited the car. Promotional materials for the international collegiate Sanda competition adorned the entrance. This was reportedly the most authoritative global collegiate Sanda competition, held consecutively for over a dozen years, and making its China debut in Aurouss Hill. Aurouss Hill was fortunate to be chosen as the host city.
Despite China's repeated participation, their best result was fourth place; they'd never won a medal. This year, the Chinese team aimed for a medal breakthrough. Aurora was one of their most promising medal contenders.
Upon reaching the gymnasium entrance, Charlie found many spectators. He called Mr. Quinton, informing him of his arrival.
Mr. Quinton rushed to greet him. "Master Wade, I apologize for troubling you during your busy schedule. I know this is a waste of your precious time."
Charlie smiled indifferently. "It's alright. This competition seems high-level. Aurora's participation is commendable. I should cheer her on."
Mr. Quinton was overjoyed. He considered Charlie the ideal son-in-law. Seeing Charlie's willingness to attend, he felt it demonstrated his importance to Aurora. He gestured invitingly. "Master Wade, Aurora's preparing in the lounge. Let's go to the audience area first!"

Charlie nodded and entered the gymnasium with Mr. Quinton. The Aurouss Hill Gymnasium was enormous, boasting a standard indoor swimming pool, and standard facilities for track and field, badminton, table tennis, and basketball. Except for the pool, the entire stadium was dedicated to the Sanda competition. The venue was divided into several square areas, each containing an arena.
Mr. Quinton pointed to the arenas. "Master Wade, there are eight arenas, corresponding to eight groups. Each group's preliminary round is held in a designated arena. The winner advances to the top eight." He pointed to the fifth ring. "Aurora's in the fifth ring. Her match starts in ten minutes. Let's go."
Charlie followed Mr. Quinton to ring five. Over a hundred audience seats surrounded it, with several in the front row reserved for them. Upon arrival, they spotted a familiar figure: Steven Quinton of the Quinton family.
Steven had been ostracized for his past confrontation with Charlie. However, his recent behavior had improved, and he was allowed to attend Aurora's match as her cousin.
Seeing Charlie, Steven lost his arrogant demeanor. He stood, bowing respectfully. "Master Wade, it's an honor. Please, have a seat."
Charlie looked at him curiously. "Steven Quinton, it's been a while. What have you been up to?"
Steven, ashamed, replied, "Master Wade, I've been reflecting on my past actions. I deeply regret offending you. I was blinded by arrogance. You, a magnanimous man, forgave me and helped our family. I can't thank you enough."
Charlie smiled. "Steven Quinton, you seem more sensible."
Steven scratched his head. "Master Wade, if you feel my sincerity, I'm satisfied."
Mr. Quinton slapped Steven's head. "When you see Master Wade, show respect! If you dare to act up, I'll break your leg!"
Steven nodded repeatedly. "Second Uncle, don't worry. Master Wade will be my idol!"
Charlie smiled faintly. "Don't flatter yourself. Don't cause trouble for your uncle."
Steven nodded eagerly.
The referee announced, "The final preliminary match of Group Five, begin!"
Excited, Steven pointed to the entrance. "Master Wade, my sister's here!"
Chapter 1313
As Steven spoke, Aurora entered! She wore a sports bra and shorts, showcasing her excellent physique. Charlie was impressed by her muscular definition, including a visible V-line. Her skin was flawless, and her long hair was tied back in a neat ponytail. She wore large red boxing gloves, her expression serious.
Beside her was a young, dark-skinned woman.
Steven eagerly introduced, "Master Wade, my sister's opponent is a Thai fighter. She's skilled in Muay Thai and a seeded player from the Philippines team!"
Charlie laughed. "Muay Thai is nothing to fear. Compared to Chinese martial arts, it's insignificant. Your sister can beat her."
Steven smiled. "Master Wade is insightful! I think my sister will win!"
Mr. Quinton glared at Steven. "Watch the match and stop talking nonsense!"
Steven shrank his neck, unsure what he'd done wrong. Mr. Quinton was annoyed because Steven was trying to steal the spotlight with Charlie.
On stage, Aurora spotted Charlie and her stern expression softened into shyness. She waved her gloved hand. "Master Wade, you're here!"
Charlie smiled and nodded. "Cheer up! I'm confident you'll advance to the quarterfinals!"
Aurora smiled shyly, her heart overflowing with happiness. The referee stepped forward. Since it was a preliminary match and seven other groups were playing simultaneously, he didn't delay. "Both sides prepare, the match starts in thirty seconds!"
Chapter 1314
Charlie observed that the Thai fighter was quick and agile, but shorter than Aurora, giving her a more stable base. Her strategy was to exploit her advantage in low attacks against Aurora's higher stance. The first round saw the Thai fighter land more effective hits, putting her ahead on points.
During the break, Aurora's coach provided tactical guidance. The second round began with Aurora initiating attacks, attempting to counter the lower strikes. However, she lacked the opponent's stability in low stances, and her taller, thinner frame was a disadvantage. Aurora continued to fall behind on points.
Steven whispered, "The Thai fighter keeps targeting my sister's lower body. If my sister can't overcome this, she'll lose."
Charlie smiled. "Steven Quinton, you're perceptive."
Steven said sheepishly, "It's just an observation, Master Wade."
Charlie glanced at the Thai fighter. He noticed that while her low attacks were fast and powerful, her defensive posture was weaker during those attacks. Her low stance, aiming for Aurora's legs and ankles, exposed her own knees and leg bones. Aurora's height and reach provided an opportunity to exploit this vulnerability.
Charlie approached Aurora's resting area. Aurora's coach was advising her to focus on high attacks.
Charlie frowned. This was a simplistic strategy. Charlie thought Aurora should focus on countering the opponent's low strikes, using her height and leg length to target the Thai fighter's knees and calves.
Chapter 1315
Aurora looked at Charlie excitedly. "Master Wade!" she said, then added sheepishly, "Sorry, Master Wade, for letting you see this."
Charlie smiled reassuringly. "It's okay. Finding the right rhythm takes time. Analyzing your opponent's strengths and weaknesses is key."
Aurora nodded. "I understand, Master Wade. Thank you for your advice!"
Aurora's coach looked at Charlie with displeasure. "What are you commanding? Do you know Sanda? Aurora's at a critical point; if she can't turn things around in the third round, she'll lose! You're sabotaging her!"
Charlie said calmly, "I'm stating facts you're overlooking. If she continues your strategy, she'll lose badly. The Thai fighter isn't stronger or faster, but her tactics are clever."
The coach scoffed, "Amateurs have no place interfering. I'm a national Sanda champion! You dare to instruct me?"
Charlie replied, "You won the national championship, but Aurora's aiming for the world championship. Why should national-level guidance dictate a world-level competition?"
The coach, unable to argue, angrily told Aurora, "If you listen to him, our training ends, and I'll no longer be your coach!"
Aurora, torn between her coach and Master Wade, apologetically told her coach, "Coach, I'm sorry. I'll use Master Wade's tactics."
Coach Blanks said, "I thought you were smart, but you're foolish. You've chosen to believe an amateur. Our teacher-student relationship ends here."
He turned, walking away. "Aurora, I believed you'd reach the top eight, maybe even win a medal. Now, your journey ends in the group stage." He then looked coldly at Charlie. "Boy, you've ruined a good seedling."
Charlie smiled. "Really? I think Aurora has a chance at the championship."
Coach Blanks scoffed, "Are you joking? Do you know how strong the top seeds are? Ito Nanako from Japan and Joanna from Brazil are far superior to Aurora. With my guidance, Aurora might beat Joanna, but without me, she can't even win this match!"
Charlie smiled. "Don't worry. Joanna and Ito Nanako will both lose to Aurora."
Coach Blanks said contemptuously, "Boy, you're arrogant. With your amateur skills, Aurora can't defeat Ito Nanako?"
