The Amazing Son-in-Law: Chapters 1506-1510
Chapter 1506
Angie and Orrin were shocked. Could Orrin's condition truly heal? It seemed impossible. Their family had sought the world's best experts, medications, devices, and treatments, yet Orrin's condition rapidly worsened. Even Steve Jobs, a billionaire with pancreatic cancer, received the best US treatment but with regrettable results. Top experts deemed Orrin's cure unlikely, predicting less than six months to live. Charlie Wade's claim to cure him sounded fantastical.
Angie sighed, saying seriously, "Charlie, I know you care about Uncle Orrin, but his condition is very grim."
Orrin nodded, stating, "Charlie, I know my condition best. Pancreatic cancer is aggressive, and mine is advanced, spreading throughout my body. It's too late. As the saying goes, even God can't save me."
Charlie wanted to assure Orrin that he could save him, but feared seeming arrogant. He instead said, "Uncle Orrin, I recently obtained a medicine effective against various diseases. Try it."
Orrin, a staunch atheist and materialist, remained skeptical, having thoroughly researched his condition. He shook his head, saying, "Charlie, I appreciate your concern, but this disease is far beyond your understanding."
Angie agreed, calling Orrin's disease the "most difficult, dangerous, and cruel in the world." Charlie planned to offer a Rejuvenation Pill, but a servant interrupted, announcing the arrival of Orrin's brothers, Hank and Carl.
Angie coldly instructed, "Tell them to leave. We have nothing to say to them."
An angry voice retorted, "Sister-in-law, we're family. Father will be gone soon; you won't even let us in? He'd be furious if he knew!"
Eight or nine people aggressively entered. Angie demanded, "Hank Sun! This is my home! Who allowed you to barge in?"
Chapter 1507
Hank sneered, "Sister-in-law, this is my brother's home. Do I need your permission?"
Angie retorted, "Hank, it's my husband's home, half of which belongs to me. Entering without permission is trespassing!"
Hank contemptuously surveyed Angie, "Sister-in-law, are you truly fulfilling your wifely duties? You haven't produced a Sun grandson. Without a grandson, you're a sinner in our family!"
Angie's face fell, and she felt aggrieved. Orrin, enraged, threw a porcelain bowl to the ground, shouting at Hank, "Don't make a scene! Angie nearly died giving birth to Daisy. We vowed never to have another child. Even our parents agreed! What right do you have to speak?"
Hank retorted, "Dad respected you, but I'm heartbroken! I suspect their premature deaths are linked to their distress over this." He added, "You killed them!"
Stefanie, Orrin and Angie's daughter, intervened, "Second Uncle, stop! This is my family!"
Carl, Orrin's third brother, chimed in, "Stefanie, you're a big star now? Don't forget, you're just an actress!"
A younger man added, "The Sun family motto forbids inferior careers. Acting was never respectable. You've disgraced our ancestors!"
Stefanie angrily replied, "Carl, you only know how to eat and drink! You have no right to criticize me!"
Chapter 1508
Carl sneered, "Cousin, you're a woman who will marry and become an outsider. You'll have no say then!"
Charlie Wade hesitated to intervene, considering it a family matter. He decided to observe.
Orrin shouted, "Enough! Stop this nonsense!" He coldly asked Hank and Carl, "What do you want? Speak plainly!"
Hank feigned concern, "Brother, your health has worsened. Refusing treatment?"
Orrin stated, "I've decided to receive treatment. My daughter hasn't married yet; I can't die!"
Carl complained, "You decided to give up treatment! Why change your mind? Why endure the pain?"
Orrin said coldly, "What are you implying? Get to the point!"
Hank smiled insidiously, "Father was eccentric. He divided the Sun family assets: 50% to you, 25% each to me and Carl. You're dying; this property shouldn't go to outsiders. Your wife will remarry; the assets will go to outsiders!"
Chapter 1509
Angie was humiliated and tearful. Stefanie was furious. Orrin trembled, nearly collapsing.
Charlie Wade intervened, shouting, "You bastards, this is outrageous!"
Hank, Carl, and the others initially ignored Charlie. They were enraged by his audacity.
Hank pointed at Charlie, yelling, "Boy, do you know who I am? You want to live long?"
Charlie sneered, "Of course. You're 'Asshole Number One,' that guy's 'Number Two,' and the little one's 'Number Three'!"
Hank, accustomed to deference, was furious. He was puzzled by Charlie's boldness, wondering about his background. Carl was less cautious.
Carl yelled, "Who are you? We're from the Sun family! You want to die?!"
Charlie retorted, "You barked at Daisy, right? Kneel and bark twice, and I'll let you go!"
Chapter 1510
Trevor, Hank's son, intervened, "Brother, this is family business. Don't interfere."
Charlie said, "Don't bully the weak. The Sun family should be more refined."
Carl wanted to attack, but Trevor stopped him. Hank decided to deal with Charlie later, focusing on the family matter.
Hank told Orrin, "I'm here to protect the Sun family's interests! You're dying; I should inherit most of the assets."
He continued, "Brother, for the Sun family's sake, make a will. Give us 80%, and 20% is enough for your wife and daughter."
Orrin stated he'd already made a will, dividing his assets equally between Angie and Stefanie.
Hank pressed, "You're only thinking of your little family, not the Sun family's future."
Carl added, "Brother, even if you leave it to them, can two women manage such assets? Give us 80%; 20% is enough for them. If you refuse, we can't guarantee their safety!"
Orrin was enraged, shouting, "Carl, you beast! Are you threatening me?"
