Chapter 1571

Charlie Wade was puzzled. He didn't understand why the old man recognized him so readily. However, since the old man had helped him, his priority was visiting his parents' graves. He bowed slightly to the old man, saying, "Thank you, sir."

Then, Orrin (ostensibly) assisted Angie and Stefanie as they ascended the stone steps. No one followed, not even the old master, who remained below, quietly watching Charlie, his excitement barely contained.

The Wade family tomb consisted of nine rows. The top row held the family's first ancestor; seniority decreased with each lower row. Charlie's parents were buried in the second-to-last row, which contained twenty similarly sized graves, only one marked with a tombstone.

Orrin stopped at this row, pointing to the lone tombstone and saying, "Charlie Wade, this is your parents' tomb."

Charlie nodded softly, murmuring, "In my parents' generation, only they have passed away. The others are still alive, right?"

Orrin replied, "Yes. Though they're in their forties and fifties, they're in their prime. Had your parents not been harmed, they would be pillars of the Wade family now."

Charlie sighed and approached the grave. The security guards and old master remained below, unable to see. Charlie dropped his pretense as Orrin entered first.

Reaching his parents' grave, Charlie removed his sunglasses and mask, gazing at their photo and names etched on the tombstone. Tears flowed freely. He relived his life in his mindโ€”a rapid montage from his earliest memories to age eight, followed by a faster-paced glimpse of the subsequent decade. The eighteen years without his parents had been agonizing, filled with a bitterness and pain incomprehensible to others.

He longed to speak to them, but words failed him. After a moment of weeping, he knelt, placed flowers before the tombstone, and choked out, "Dad, Mom, your son has been unfilial. Eighteen years passed before I could visit. I've been trapped and overwhelmed, unable to fulfill my filial duty. Please forgive me"

He then kowtowed nine times. To him, heaven and earth paled in comparison to the worthiness of his parents.

Orrin knelt, sighing, "Brother, sister-in-law, I kept my promise. I brought Charlie back. Look at himโ€”a talented man, just like his father! You were a dragon and phoenix amongst your generation!" He wiped a tear. "Last time, I said I'd soon join you, but Charlie saved my life. Brother and sister-in-law, youโ€™ll have to wait a while"

Angie knelt beside Orrin, weeping, "Brother, sister-in-law, thank you. Bless God for seeing us through this. We will never forget the Wade family's kindness"

Stefanie knelt beside Charlie, crying silently.

After a lengthy period of kneeling, Charlie wiped his tears, gently wiping the tombstone. "Dad, Mom, I can't stay long, but don't worry. I'll visit every year." He helped Orrin up. "Uncle Orrin, let's go."

Orrin nodded, rising with his wife. Charlie donned his sunglasses and mask, descending the steps with the Orrin family.

Chapter 1572

Below, the security guards stood at attention. The old master, clutching his crutch, gazed at Charlie with awe.

Charlie walked to the old master and bowed deeply. The old master hastily discarded his crutch to help, stammering, "You mustn't! You mustn't!"

The security guards were surprised. Why this deference?

The old master asked, "Young man, may I speak with you privately?"

Charlie nodded. The old master instructed the guards, "No one is to follow."

Charlie nodded to Orrin and walked with the old master to a marble platform overlooking the mountain. Charlie sensed the mountain's powerful energy and realized this platform was the center of its feng shui.

The old master positioned Charlie at the center, respectfully stating, "The entire Wade Mountain, and its feng shui array, were created for you."

Charlie was astonished. "For me? Do you know me?"

The old master explained, "Four years ago, the Wade family faced a crisis, trapped. It coincided with your marriage."

"My marriage?!" Charlie exclaimed.

"Yes," the old master nodded. "The 'Dragon Shoal'โ€”the dragon refers to you."

Charlie frowned. "Am I trapped in a metaphorical sense?"

"Yes," the old master replied. "You are the only dragon in the Wade family. A dragon's place is in the sky and sea, but you were confined to a riverbankโ€”a dragon in a shoal! Your confinement drained the Wade family's fortune. Your grandfather fell gravely ill due to this."

The old master continued, "Your grandfather sought me out. Three months prior, my own divination showed a near-death experience. I was already old, but the hexagram pointed east."

He searched for clues until your grandfather's request for Feng Shui consultation clarified everything. The "dead life" was in the Wade family's homeland. I examined the Wade family's Feng Shui, discovering the trapped dragon. If it couldn't soar, the Wade family, and my own life path, would be destroyed. I spent four years restoring Wade Mountain, breaking the 'Dragon Shoal' last spring, freeing you from the predicament."

Charlie was shocked. Was this referring to the "Apocalyptic Book"? The timing coincided precisely with obtaining it.

He wondered if the old man knew about the "Apocalyptic Book," his deepest secret.

He asked, "You said rebuilding Wade Mountain freed me. How?"

Chapter 1573

Charlie had brought several Rejuvenation Pills to Eastcliff. While one could heal Orrin, heโ€™d brought extras as precaution.

The old man's divination likely referred to these pills.

He realized his predicament began when he married Claire in Aurouss Hill. Aurouss Hillโ€™s location on the Yangtze River fit the "riverbank" description.

His life turned around with Stephen Thompson's arrival last spring, but the most significant change was obtaining the "Apocalyptic Book," also last spring.

The sequence of events was: his confinement caused the Wade family's misfortune; they sought the old master; he divined a chance to extend his life in the East; he returned to China to solve the family's problems and await his chance. He spent four years restoring Wade Mountain, breaking the 'Dragon Shoal', saving the family and benefiting himself. He had been waiting for Charlie, the subject of his divination.

Charlie bowed, "Sir, I benefited greatly from your efforts. I respect you deeply!"

The old man humbly protested. Charlie insisted, "It's only right. Without you, I'd still be trapped."

The old man shook his head. "A dragon is supreme; the 'Dragon Shoal' is a predicament, not a death sentence. It can trap, but not kill. Its breaking was inevitable; if not me, someone else would have succeeded."

He added, "Heaven knows good and evil, and karma exists. Whoever breaks your predicament will be rewarded."

He looked at Charlie and said, "The hexagram foretold that by freeing you, I'd gain ten years. Perhaps that was already written in the book of life and death. Thank you again!"

Charlie smiled. "Sir, I believe in geomancy and fate, but not in ghosts and gods, nor a book of life and death."

The old man smiled, "The mysteries of heaven are beyond my comprehension. I still don't fully know who you are."

Charlie produced a Rejuvenation Pill. "Sir, this is your extended life."

Chapter 1574

Charlie explained the pillโ€™s effect. The old man, though unsure of the pillโ€™s nature, nodded excitedly.

He knelt, his hands raised. Charlie placed the pill in his hands, then helped him up. "Sir, take it. At your age, the outward effect may be subtle, but youโ€™ll feel the true impact."

The old man, overwhelmed with gratitude, exclaimed, "Thank you, Master Wade!" He took the pill.

After a minute of stillness, he opened his eyes, tears in them. He knelt again, choked with emotion, thanking Charlie profusely.

Charlie protested his politeness. The old man explained, "In fate, you are the Dragon, I the Python. A python bows to a dragon, even an ancient one to a young one. I couldn't salute you earlier due to the presence of others, but I hope you forgive me!"

Charlie waved it off.

The old man insisted, "Respecting fate means acting in harmony with heaven. Failing to show you respect would have been disrespectful to heaven!"

Charlie, seeing his resolve, asked, "Sir, may I know your name?"

The old man bowed, "Young Master Wade, my name is Orion Exeor, a direct descendant of Balig Exeor, a master of Feng Shui in the Moore Dynasty."

Charlie was impressed. He recalled a fraudulent Feng Shui master who claimed the same lineage, but lacked true skill. This old man, however, was truly exceptional.

Chapter 1575

Charlie asked about Orion's residence in the US.

Orion sighed, "During the war, my father, through divination, knew China would survive, but our family would be destroyed. He sacrificed himself to save us, but at the cost of our exile"

"In 1938, I buried my father, moved my family to the US, started a business and a new life. Moving back has always felt impractical."

Charlie asked about his future plans. Orion looked at the mountains, "My descendants are in the US. After four years away, it's time to go home. I've received ten more years of life. I'm going home to spend them."

Charlie wished him well. Orion hesitated, "Master Wade, I have some advice."

Charlie welcomed it. Orion cautioned, "Though the 'Dragon Shoal' is broken, you shouldn't remain by the river."

Charlie asked for his suggestion. Orion respectfully stated, "Eastcliff. It's the nation's capital, with the most potent feng shui. Moving here means the dragon entering its lair."

Charlie smiled, "Thank you. I'll consider it."

Orion, sensing Charlie's thoughts, advised, "Be cautious, not deceive yourself. Be loyal to your heartโ€ฆ"

Charlie agreed. Orion said he hoped for future encounters and offered to perform divinations when needed.

Charlie instinctively wanted to agree, but after reflecting, declined. "Sir, I donโ€™t need to know my future. I'm a creature of destiny. I may go against heaven's plan. I'll continue my journey."

Orion was shocked. He'd never seen someone so unconcerned with their future, and admired Charlie for it.

He bowed. "Master Wade, it was a pleasure meeting you." Charlie returned the farewell.

Returning to the parking lot, they were met with curious looks. Orion explained to security, "I need a car to the airport."

The security head asked, "Old Master, you're leaving now? Won't you meet the Patriarch?"

Orion smiled, "My promise to the Patriarch is fulfilled. It's time for me to return." He knew Charlie preferred anonymity.
