The Amazing Son-in-Law

Chapter 1841

After leaving Tiffany's, Nanako Ito accompanied Charlie Wade, strolling through Ginza's high-end shops. To avoid appearing biased, Charlie bought a high-end suit for his father-in-law, Jacob Wilson. Jacob, now a prominent member of the Calligraphy and Painting Association (holding the No. 2 position), enjoys considerable prestige. The association frequently interacts with Matilda's alma mater, so Charlie's gift served a dual purpose: enhancing Jacob's appearance and facilitating connections. Charlie also purchased several smaller items.

Around 3:30 PM, with approximately two hours until Charlie's flight to Osaka, and considering the airport's distance from the city, he told Nanako, "Nanako, it's almost time. I need to head to the airport."

Nanako readily replied, "Charlie Wade, I'll take you!"

Charlie countered, "I'll drive; I need to leave the car at the airport. What will you do then?"

"No problem," Nanako declared. "I'll arrange a car to pick me up. Don't worry!"

Subconsciously, Charlie asked, "Is that too much trouble?"

"Not at all!" Nanako pleaded. "Charlie Wade, I want to take you to the airport, even to Osaka and back to Aurous Hill, but my current situation makes it impossible. This is my chance to see you off"

Touched, Charlie agreed, "Let's drive together, but you should call your family and arrange for a car to pick you up from the airport."

"Yes!" Nanako happily agreed. "I'll handle it!"

"Good."

They drove to Tokyo Airport, marking Charlie's first journey home. Nanako, throughout the ride, steal glances at Charlie, her reluctance palpable. Her affection for him, ignited in Aurous Hill, blossomed fully during their reunion in Japan. This parting left her uncertain about their future encounters, sensing that he had eased a heavy burden from her heart.

Nanako, an intelligent woman, understood his visit to Japan stemmed from her injury, and his compassion for her. Knowing he possessed the cure, she knew he sought it in Kyoto.

A profound loneliness consumed her. She yearned to remain in Japan for him but recognized the impossibility.

Chapter 1842

As Nanako pondered, Charlie reached the airport. After parking, instead of rushing off, he placed his car keys atop the front tire.

Nanako exclaimed, "Charlie Wade, what are you doing?"

Charlie chuckled, "I'm leaving the key with my 'friend.' Otherwise, I'd have to take it back to China."

Nanako questioned, "Won't it get lost? Couldn't someone just drive off?"

Charlie smiled, "No one will notice it among all these cars. Who bends down to examine another person's tires?" He added, "I'll inform the owner later; it'll make picking up the car much easier."

Nanako smiled, nodding. "You're clever. I'd never think of that."

Charlie admitted, "Mostly, I'm saving money. The postage would be high if I mailed it from China."

Nanako laughed, "Charlie Wade, you certainly aren't short of money… Your father-in-law alone contributed $4.5 billion, and Oracle Pharmaceuticals is booming. Why be so frugal?"

Charlie smiled subtly, "It's not about saving money, it's about living mindfully. Spending wisely and avoiding waste."

Nanako nodded earnestly. "Thank you, Charlie Wade. I've learned a valuable lesson."

Charlie modestly replied, "I'm no teacher, just sharing my simple opinions."

Nanako sincerely stated, "Though simple, I've never considered this. In my previous position, it didn't matter if I overspent, but now, with my father wanting me to lead Ito Co., Ltd., I must change my attitude towards money. Only your approach can make the family business thrive!"

Charlie smiled, "I believe Ito Co., Ltd. will flourish under your leadership!"

Nanako nodded softly. "Thank you for your blessing. I hope I can live up to expectations."

Charlie looked at her encouragingly, "Okay, time's up. I need to check in. How will you get back?"

Nanako replied, "My family's assistant is picking me up." Checking her watch, she urged, "She might take a while. I'll walk you to security!"

They proceeded to the departure hall. A striking woman, elegant yet steely, entered. Tall and slender, she wore a black leather jacket, pants, and boots, her long black hair in a ponytail. Beautiful but icy, she proceeded directly to the VIP security check. The male staff member, momentarily captivated by her, stammered, "Miss, please show your ID and boarding pass." She presented her passport, revealing her name: Xion Banks.

Chapter 1843

Tokyo Airport had intensified exit checks to apprehend the Matsumoto family's murderer. Due to staff shortages, thorough checks weren't feasible. Although Xion held a Chinese passport, her Osaka-bound boarding pass (not leaving Japan) avoided suspicion. The staff silently repeated her name, finding it pleasing, yet unsure why.

Xion, suspecting her identity might be compromised, quickly analyzed the situation. The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department only knew a Chinese master was involved; they lacked specifics about the killer or the family's murder. Considering the significant cross-border traffic, she concluded he was merely captivated by her appearance.

She asked plainly, "Does my passport look nice?"

He subconsciously replied, "Very pretty…" before realizing his gaffe. He hastily returned her passport, apologizing profusely.

Xion ignored him, demanding, "Can I pass?"

Overwhelmed by her aura, the staff member quickly stamped her boarding pass. Xion departed; he gazed after her, sighing, "Her Majesty's aura… only seen in TV shows and anime!"

Xion proceeded to security. The Banks family had dispersed, purchasing ordinary tickets to Osaka, then using a private jet to return home. Xion took the 5:40 flight.

Meanwhile, Charlie reached the VIP security checkpoint. Turning to Nanako, he said, "Nanako, you've gone to great lengths. I'm going through security. You should go."

Nanako nodded reluctantly. "Have a safe journey. Let me know when you land."

"Okay!" Charlie smiled. "Take care!"

Nanako, eyes red, said, "Thank you for your concern. I will!" Charlie sighed, feeling a mix of reluctance and relief. Reluctance for Nanako, a kind woman, but relief for resolving the issue regarding her.

Chapter 1844

Nanako's initial rivalry with Aurora, coupled with Aurora's strength increase due to Charlie's rejuvenation pills and subsequent injury of Nanako in the ring, had been a thorn in Charlie's side. He felt sorry for her and admired her tenacity, while also feeling responsible for Aurora's rise. Having cured Nanako, his guilt lessened, transforming into appreciation.

Smiling knowingly, Charlie stated, "I should go."

Nanako nodded, deeply saddened, yet sweetly wished him luck, health, and success in his martial arts. Charlie, surprised by this traditional Japanese blessing symbolizing invincibility, clasped his fist in response, promising to meet again.

As he turned, Nanako's tears flowed. She wanted to call him back but feared showing her tears would lead to misinterpretations. She wanted to watch him depart before leaving herself.

Unexpectedly, Charlie looked back, seeing her tears. The sight deeply impacted him. He wanted to call her back, but Nanako, losing control, ran to him, hugging him tightly and initiating a kiss.

Chapter 1845

Charlie felt Nanako's cold, tear-filled lips. A bittersweet moment of reluctance and helplessness. Their lips parted, Nanako looked at him, tearfully pleading, "Charlie Wade, don't forget me"

Charlie earnestly assured her, "Don't worry, I won't!"

Nanako solemnly requested, "If you ever need my help, please tell me!"

Charlie agreed, "Likewise."

Nanako smiled through her tears, "We should go; you'll miss your flight!"

Charlie softly said, "Nanako, farewell."

"Until next time!"

He turned, avoiding another tearful farewell. Passengers observed Nanako's tearful farewell, deeply touched by her devotion.

Most men envied Charlie, wondering how he could have such a woman weeping so profoundly, especially since he didn't look back.

Nanako remained lost in her emotions until her phone rang. Her assistant announced her arrival. Nanako hurriedly wiped her tears, directing her to wait. She glanced back at security, ensuring Charlie was gone, before leaving.

Three black Rolls Royces awaited outside. Nanako's assistant, Hisui Kawana, greeted her, opening the back door. Inside the car, Nanako inquired, "Kaana, did you get the ring?"

Kawana presented a Tiffany box; inside, lay a ring identical to the one Charlie had shown her.
