The Amazing Son-in-Law: Chapters 1856-1860
Chapter 1856
"Yes! Surrender!"
"Leave the green hills, I'm not afraid there will be no firewood!"
Zayne sighed on the phone and said to Xion, "Xion, surrender. I'll do everything possible to mediate with the Japanese, and I will rescue you."
The tension finally eased in Xion's mind. Although unwilling, she nodded. "Patriarch, I understand take care. If you can't"
Zayne's heart ached, but he could only say, "Trust me, I'll definitely save you!"
"Alright! I believe you!" Xion said angrily, then hung up. To the flight attendant, she said, "Open the hatch!"
The flight attendant immediately opened the four hatches.
They heard shouting outside: "Everyone put your hands on your heads and line up to walk down the spiral staircase. Anyone playing tricks will be killed!"
Xion sighed, stood, and sadly addressed everyone: "It's fate we worked together. Take care of yourselves!"
Raising her hands, she was the first to step out. Outside, the helicopter roared, wind whipping her hair and clothes. Countless guns pointed at her. Someone yelled, "Go down slowly! Hands on your head!"
Xion complied. Stepping onto the staircase, she was flustered about her unknown future. She was the ringleader; arrest meant confession and, likely, the death penalty. Only Zayne could save her.
Several heavily armed self-defense team members tackled her, handcuffing her. The remaining fifty or so people disembarked, also handcuffed and forced to kneel, assault rifles pressed to their heads. Even the crew weren't spared.
Charlie Wade, watching from the cockpit, sneered inwardly as the Banks family was swept away. These fifty-odd people were the Banks family's teeth and claws. Now in Japanese hands, the family was severely weakened. "Banks family," he thought, "I, Charlie Wade, will make you pay for the Anti-Leaf Alliance!"
Chapter 1857
After subduing the Banks family, the Japanese Self-Defense Forces began clearing the airport. They brought three buses with steel-mesh windows. Xion and the others were escorted onto them.
To prevent escape, the Japanese Self-Defense Forces doubled-cuffed everyone. They scattered the prisoners and provided one-on-one guard. Each Banks family member was seated by a window, guarded by a self-defense team member. Ten more armed personnel patrolled the aisle, ready to shoot anyone who moved.
Xion, ashen-faced, stared out the steel mesh. The airport was brightly lit. She should have been heading home, not a prisoner. She couldn't figure out what went wrong, but she knew escape was impossible.
Soon, all the Banks family members were loaded onto the buses. Three buses, escorted by ten armored vehicles, left the airport. For maximum security, the Japanese Homeland Security Department planned to transfer the fifty-plus people to the Self-Defense Forces station in Osaka, where tens of thousands of soldiers would guard them.
As the bus passed Charlie Wade's Gulfstream jet, a small plane with about ten seats, Xion saw a familiar face in the cockpit. She recognized the man who'd sat next to her on the flight from Tokyo.
"Why is he on a private jet? Behind our bus? That playful look in his eyesโฆ Why was he pretending to be ordinary on the plane?"
It dawned on her: this Chinese man, who flew with her to Osaka, likely betrayed her. "Who is he?!"
Charlie Wade, unafraid of being recognized, mockingly watched Xion.
Chapter 1858
As the bus approached, Charlie Wade smiled, waved, and shouted, "Hi, beauty!"
Although Xion couldn't hear him, she read his lips. His playful expression confirmed her suspicion: she was his victim. She glared at him, teeth gritted. He made a throat-slitting gesture.
Xion, enraged, jumped up and screamed, "Bastard! I'll kill you!"
Charlie Wade, with superior hearing, heard her clearly. He smiled, "I'm waiting for you!"
Xion's fury intensified. The convoy accelerated, leaving the airport. Airport staff towed the plane away, and the tower resumed normal operations.
The pilot said, "The tower has cleared us for takeoff!"
"Good!" Charlie Wade smiled. "It's time to go home."
The plane took off, leaving Japan in turmoil.
All Japanese television stations broadcast urgent news: the arrest of fifty-seven suspects in the Tokyo Matsumoto family murder case. The footage of the arrest was shocking.
The news spread rapidly.
Zayne, in an Aomori hot spring hotel, smashed his hotel room upon reading the news. The Banks family suffered heavy losses and disgrace.
Lord Banks, in Eastcliff, was furious. "What happened?! Over fifty people arrested?! How did you lead the team?! You've caused a disaster!"
Zayne, pained, replied, "Dad! I don't know how the leak happened, but I wanted to prevent this more than you!" He frantically pulled his hair, saying, "Xion is my flesh and blood, and she might face the death penalty. Do you understand my feelings as a father?"
Chapter 1859
Xion was twenty-one, a year younger than Zara. Zayne didn't know of her existence until she was eighteen. Her mother, Kairi Elms, was the eldest daughter of the He family, one of China's four major martial arts families, and Zayne's bodyguard. Beautiful and capable, she was practically the leader of the Banks family bodyguards.
Kairi was three years older than Zayne. When Zayne was fifteen, he studied abroad. Lord Banks hired the Elms family for his protection. Kairi, eighteen, accompanied Zayne through his studies, business dealings, and travels. Even when Zayne pursued his wife Deana, Kairi secretly guarded him.
For over ten years, she secretly loved him. She kept her feelings hidden due to their differences in status, age, and family background. Even after Zayne married Deana, she remained silent.
In Zara's second year, Zayne was thirty, Kairi thirty-three. Zayne faced an overseas plot. Kairi saved him but lost an arm. Her combat ability declined, forcing her retirement. Zayne, upset at her departure, asked if he could do anything for her. Kairi confessed her long-held love.
That night, they spent time together. Afterward, Kairi returned home, pregnant with Xion.
Xion, initially bearing her mother's surname, was raised by the Elms family. From age two to eighteen, she practiced ancient martial arts, surpassing her mother in skill by eighteen. At eighteen, Kairi revealed Xion's parentage, portraying Zayne as a good father who simply didn't know of her existence. Kairi gave Xion two choices: stay with the Elms family or seek her father.
Chapter 1860
Xion chose to find her father, sensing it was her mother's wish. Zayne, initially unaware, felt Xion's exceptional strength and resemblance to Kairi. Xion followed her mother's instructions, keeping her identity secret. But Lord Banks suspected something. He investigated Xion's identity, eventually discovering Kairi.
Learning Xion might be Zayne's daughter, he compared their DNA. The results confirmed it. Zayne was shocked and moved. He admired Kairi for her actions.
However, he worried about the implications. Xion was an illegitimate daughter. Revealing her existence would damage his image with his wife and children, likely leading to divorce.
The old man suggested secrecy. Zayne, although he couldn't show paternal love openly, nurtured Xion, training her as a leader within the Banks family. He never expected her Japan trip to ruin her future.
Lord Banks understood Zayne's anguish. "The Banks family has suffered heavy losses. This will spread nationwide. We're vulnerable. The Wade family might attack. You need to return to China immediately. What do we do now?"
Zayne choked, "Dad, I have a request: rescue Xion at all costs!"
Lord Banks sighed, "Zayne, this is risky. The Japanese government will react harshly. Rescue might cost more than you imagine."
Zayne insisted, "Xion's actions were on my orders. I'm at fault!" He continued, "The Japanese government wants justice. They arrested over fifty, letting one go won't change the situation. It's always good to save face.โ
