Chapter 106

Charlie Wade coldly replied before reversing to leave. Seeing this, Mr. Quinton assumed Charlie was trying to escape. He shouted, “Stop him! I can’t be bothered by you?! Hahaha! There’s nobody in Aurouss Hill I can’t afford to annoy!” He continued, “Get him, break his legs! I want to know who dares to defy the Quintons!”

Mr. Quinton believed Charlie was a competitor’s plant. Otherwise, how would he know about his earlier car accident?

The bodyguards immediately charged at Charlie. Two others approached Jacob Wilson, roughly grabbing him. Jacob was terrified; he hadn’t expected this while antiquing.

As soon as the bodyguards seized Jacob, Charlie’s expression changed. He kicked the bodyguard in front of him, then rushed to Jacob’s side, punching the bodyguard holding him.

Bam!

The bodyguard fell, his nose bleeding profusely. Another bodyguard produced an electric baton, shouting at Charlie.

“Ahh!” Jacob cried, seeing the baton. “Run, Charlie Wade!”

Before Jacob finished, Charlie swiftly dodged the baton, quickly subduing the bodyguard and pinning his arms behind his back.

Bam!

The bodyguard crumpled, unable to free himself. Jacob was speechless, barely recognizing his son-in-law. Had he always been such a skilled fighter?

Charlie picked up the baton and asked, “Anyone else want to test me?”

The crowd was silent, staring at Charlie. Zachary was surprised, relieved he hadn’t provoked Charlie recently.

“Bro, you’re impressive!”

Regaining his composure, Jacob asked, shocked, “Charlie, where did you learn to fight?”

Charlie grinned. “Dad, when Claire’s at work, I watch TV. There’s a fight show every morning. I learned from that.”

In truth, Charlie had been fighting since childhood. He was highly skilled in boxing and wrestling, coming from a line of professional wrestlers. He couldn’t reveal this, needing to maintain his secret identity. He was surprised at his own increased strength; his fighting ability seemed far deadlier than usual. This was likely due to…

He felt the reiki from the pebble he’d acquired flowing into his body, enhancing his fitness.

The crowd applauded, amazed by Charlie's skill. Who would have guessed he learned from a TV show? He must be incredibly gifted!

“You learned from a TV show?!” Zachary exclaimed, eyes wide. “Bro, which show? I want to learn too!”

Charlie smirked. “The sports channel, quack!”

Chapter 107

The crowd wanted to watch the sports channel immediately. Mr. Quinton’s face was grim. This was embarrassing! His expensive, professional bodyguards had been defeated by a kid who'd learned from TV?

Mr. Quinton wasn’t a fighter, but his bodyguards knew Charlie was an expert the moment he touched them. Even without exertion, his moves were lethal. They wouldn't easily defeat him. They stared at Charlie with curious expressions.

Jacob, unfamiliar with fighting, attributed Charlie’s victory to luck and superior strength, unaware of Charlie’s expertise.

Charlie smiled at Mr. Quinton. “So, you’re coming for me yourself?”

“You! Don’t come near me!”

Terrified, Mr. Quinton cowered, backing away as Charlie advanced.

A black BMW pulled up. The driver opened the door for a passenger. Mr. Quinton was relieved at the arrival.

“Sister! Someone’s threatening me! Save me!”

Charlie saw a woman in black athletic wear approach. Her physique was striking, and she had a tough face.

“That’s Adam Quinton’s sister, Aurora Quinton!” someone shouted. The crowd erupted.

Adam pleaded, “Sis, this kid’s threatening me! Teach him a lesson!”

Aurora glared at the fallen bodyguards and at Charlie. “You beat them up?”

Charlie replied emphatically, “So what? What’s wrong with that?”

Aurora sneered. “Apologize to my brother!”

“What if I refuse?”

“Then I’ll beat you until you do!”

Before she finished, Aurora launched a powerful kick. Charlie was surprised; her skill surpassed the previous bodyguards. Her kick was fast and powerful, clearly professional.

Chapter 108

Adam exclaimed, “My sister will kick your ass!” She’d trained for years and was highly skilled.

Adam's eyes widened the next moment.

“Too weak!”

Charlie dodged Aurora’s kick, then countered with a kick to her backside, sending her sprawling.

Adam’s jaw dropped. “This… how is this possible?!”

Aurora was mortified. She’d never been so humiliated, especially in such an awkward spot.

Enraged, Aurora prepared to attack. She’d make him pay!

“Aurora, stop! Don’t be disrespectful to Mr. Wade.”

A middle-aged man intervened, grabbing Aurora’s arm.

Aurora, furious, screamed, “Father! Get out of my way! I’ll kill him! He kicked me in the butt!”

“Stop!” the man yelled, glaring at Aurora. He then approached Charlie respectfully. “Mr. Wade, we meet again.”

Aurora and Adam were stunned. Aurora’s father, a respected figure, was being deferential to this young man?

Charlie recognized him from a previous appraisal: Graham Quinton.

Charlie nodded. “Mr. Quinton, it seems you need to discipline your nephew.”

Graham bowed, then sternly commanded Aurora and Adam, “Apologize to Mr. Wade immediately!”

“I’ll never apologize to that bastard!” Aurora retorted.

Graham lost his patience. “Apologize! Now!”

Seeing her father’s anger, Aurora mumbled, “I’m sorry…”

Adam, indignant, said, “Uncle, he humiliated me and kicked Aurora! You should teach him a lesson! If you can’t, I will!”

Slap!

Graham slapped Adam. “You fool! Get on your knees and apologize to Mr. Wade!”

Adam was shocked. He couldn’t believe his uncle was humiliating him publicly.

Gritting his teeth, Graham yelled, “If Mr. Wade hadn’t told you about the chalcedony pendant, it would’ve killed you! The entire Quinton family would be dead because of you!” He continued, “I’ve wondered why the family has suffered so much bad luck lately. It was because of that pendant!”

Understanding his uncle’s fury, Adam knelt before Charlie, terrified.

Graham yelled, “I don’t hear an apology!”

“Yes! Yes, I’m sorry…” Adam stammered.

Graham addressed Charlie, “Mr. Wade, is there anything else we can do to appease you?”

Chapter 109

Charlie said, “Forget it. He’s apologized, I’ll let it go this time.”

Graham sighed in relief. “Mr. Wade, will the Quinton family avoid future tragedy since Adam discarded the pendant?”

Charlie sneered. “Did you think it would be that easy? That jade pendant was powerful, and it affected more than just Adam. The Quintons will be ruined within a year.”

Graham was shocked. Ruined? Such a heavy price? He paled. “I’ve done good deeds my whole life. How did I end up like this?”

Charlie smiled. “Was that why you wanted to buy the topaz?”

Graham nodded. He’d tried everything, but nothing worked until he met Charlie. He’d initially dismissed Charlie as just an appraiser. Now he knew Charlie wasn’t ordinary. He might be their only hope.

Graham clasped his hands, pleading, “Mr. Wade, please help my family!” He instructed his aide, who left.

Charlie faintly smiled. “Mr. Quinton, I suggest you solve your family problems yourselves.” He had no connection to the Quintons. Graham was a casual acquaintance, and Adam had offended him. Aurora’s attractiveness held no sway.

Graham wouldn’t give up. He bowed deeply. “Mr. Wade, please tell me how to save my family.” He bowed at a ninety-degree angle.

Charlie remained unmoved. Seeing this, Graham knelt down. Aurora followed suit, pleading, “Mr. Wade, I was wrong. I’m sorry. The fate of the Quintons is in your hands. Please help us.”

Aurora slapped Adam, scolding him, “This is your fault! You angered Mr. Wade, the only one who can help us! Kneel and apologize!”

Adam, terrified, knelt, pleading, “Mr. Wade, I’m wrong. Please forgive me and help us!” He knocked his head against the ground.

Graham’s aide returned with a gift box. Graham gave it to Charlie. “Mr. Wade, this is the most expensive jade bracelet in Emerald Court.”

The crowd gasped, recognizing the six-million-dollar bracelet.

Chapter 110

Jacob was astonished. Charlie hadn’t accepted the bracelet. He looked at Graham, smiling. “Mr. Quinton, why are you so sure I can solve this?”

Graham replied devoutly, “If Mr. Wade can’t handle it, no one else can!”

Charlie grinned; Graham was right. He knew how to solve it. He examined the bracelet, noting its clarity. It would look stunning on Claire’s hand.

Graham hadn’t done anything truly evil; his fault was failing to properly guide his family. Since he was begging, Charlie would help.

Charlie said, “Since you’re begging, I’ll help.” He accepted the bracelet.

Graham was overjoyed. “Mr. Wade, thank you! The Quintons are influential in Aurouss Hill. If you need help, please ask.”

The crowd was shocked; there was hope for the Quintons!

Charlie thought for a moment. “Alright, I’ll help.”

Graham shook Charlie’s hand excitedly.

Charlie asked for yellow paper and cinnabar from a nearby antique shop. After drawing on the paper, he gave it to Graham.

“Put this amulet on the jade pendant and bring it home. Burn incense daily. After seven to forty-nine days, the evil spirit will be removed. During that time, your family must be vegan, avoid killing and blood, shower daily, and burn incense without fail.”

“Mr. Wade, thank you. I’ll remember.”

Graham felt lighter and refreshed immediately. He was overjoyed.

Zachary, awestruck, approached Charlie. “Big brother, can you help me? How do I get a beautiful wife?”

Charlie frowned. “If you want a beautiful wife, get plastic surgery first.”

Aurora smirked; Zachary was indeed hideous. Charlie, however, was handsome.
