Chapter 2066

"How did Hashimoto finish things so quickly?" Theodore asked. "Pretty?"

Rueben sneered. "Quite pretty, according to him. The car went over a cliff, several hundred meters down, and burned to scrap. The occupants were probably incinerated."

"Good, good!" Theodore said with satisfaction. "By the way, did your grandfather suspect anything before you arrived?"

"I don't think so," Rueben replied, "but I'm not sure if he will later."

Theodore sneered. "It doesn't matter; he won't have a later."

Rueben, delighted, urgently asked, "Dad, are we ready to deal with Grandpa?"

"Not yet," Theodore said.

Rueben's expression turned worried. "Dad, don't forget, when Grandpa passed the headship to Jasmine, he publicly stated that if Jasmine had no offspring, Charlie Wade would inherit the Moore family. If we don't eliminate Grandpa quickly, aren't we giving Charlie Wade a dowry?"

"If we act now, it will be too obvious," Theodore explained. "Jasmine's death abroad and Grandpa's demise in Aurous Hill—even without evidence, the world will suspect us."

"Then what?!" Rueben asked nervously. "We can't wait for Grandpa to invite Charlie Wade into the family! We're no match for him!"

"Don't worry," Theodore said. "I acquired a batch of neurological drugs used by American operatives. Initially, they render the user completely obedient. We'll make Grandpa do our bidding, then have him annul the previous agreement and announce my succession as family head."

"What about the later stages?" Rueben pressed. "Does the drug wear off?"

Theodore sneered. "No. Prolonged use irreversibly destroys the brain. It's incurable and undetectable. The symptoms mimic Alzheimer's. We'll claim Grandpa's condition resulted from the stress of Jasmine's death. By then, I'll already be the head of the family."

Rueben grinned excitedly. "Dad, brilliant! We'll keep Grandpa as a mascot, with servants to care for him."

Theodore smiled grimly. "He just called, wanting me to return. The drugs are in place. I'll administer them after Jasmine's funeral."

Rueben spoke up, remembering something. "Dad, Grandpa still has a Rejuvenation Pill! Charlie Wade gave it to Jasmine for her birthday, and she gave it to Grandpa. What if he takes it and recovers? We'll be in serious trouble!"

Theodore said coldly, "Rueben, there's no turning back! For the sake of the Moore family's $200 billion, we must proceed."

He continued, "Besides, if the Rejuvenation Pill reverses the brain damage, I'll simply give him more of the drug. As long as we don't reveal our involvement in Jasmine's death or the medication, no one will suspect us."

After a pause, he sneered, "Even if they suspect, so what? We didn't directly kill Jasmine. Who can condemn us? It's all about evidence!"

"You're right," Rueben agreed. "Without proof, they can't touch us."

Theodore snorted. "He's to blame for this bias! He treated me like dirt! We're taking back what's ours! I'm the eldest son, you're the grandson. The Moore family should be ours!"
