The Amazing Son-in-Law Chapter 246
In Anthony's opinion, he couldn't compare to Charlie Wade even if he lived another fifty years. The man's medical skills were unparalleled. Even more incredible was his ability to create such a potent pill. He was practically godlike!
Xyla's face flushed crimson; she didn't know what to say. Initially unconvinced by Charlie Wade's skills, she was now completely convinced!
Charlie Wade said to Anthony indifferently, "Dr. Simmons, while the medication you purchased is effective for your internal injuries, it lacks a few key ingredients. Give me some time, and I'll prepare the complete formula for you."
"Mr. Wade, thank you! Thank you so much!"
Overwhelmed with gratitude, Anthony knelt before Charlie Wade, weeping openly. Xyla quickly knelt beside her grandfather, adding, "Mr. Wade, thank you for your compassion."
Anthony said, "Mr. Wade, I know you have no connections in the north region, but I do, having worked in medicine for so long. I don't know how to repay your kindness. Please don't hesitate to ask if you need any medicinal herbs or assistance in the future."
Charlie Wade nodded.
Anthony came from a long line of physicians. As a renowned doctor in the north region with extensive experience, he possessed significant connections and resources—resources the Moore family likely lacked. His assistance would greatly simplify acquiring any medicinal herbs Charlie Wade might need.
Then, Lord Moore, who had been motionless, suddenly coughed and opened his eyes. Everyone turned to stare in shock! He had been unconscious for so long, yet now he was sitting up in bed, unaided!
The middle-aged man from the Moore family dared not even breathe deeply, fearing it was a hallucination. Several doctors had declared Lord Moore's condition critical, giving him only days to live. That's why Sandwich had urgently summoned the renowned Dr. Simmons and his granddaughter. Xyla's acupuncture had shown some improvement, a noticeable change in his skin tone, but it seemed like there was nothing more they could do.
The middle-aged man had begun preparing for the funeral. Then, Charlie Wade stepped in, performing acupuncture. He predicted the old man would awaken in half an hour—a prediction that came true! Lord Moore's skin was rosy, his eyes clear and bright. He looked healthier than before his illness! It was miraculous!
Anthony exclaimed, "Mr. Wade! You said Lord Moore would wake up in half an hour, and he did, not a minute late!"
The Moore family was astounded. Charlie Wade was truly extraordinary, a master!
The middle-aged man rushed to his father, asking, "Papa, how are you feeling?"
Lord Moore looked at his son with a complex expression, his eyes shining with relief. "I thought I was dying, but I woke up again."
The middle-aged man pointed at Charlie Wade, exclaiming, "Papa, it's all thanks to Mr. Wade! He saved your life!"
Lord Moore looked in the direction indicated and, after a moment, said, "Thank you, son. I won't forget this."
Charlie Wade smiled, modestly replying, "It was a small effort. I can't take all the credit." He then pointed to Anthony and his granddaughter, "Dr. Simmons and his granddaughter also did a great deal to save your life. I can't claim sole credit."

Anthony was surprised by Charlie Wade's praise. Humbly, he said, "Lord Moore, Mr. Wade is too modest. He was the one who averted the crisis. Without him, we wouldn't have woken you."
Lord Moore nodded, saying warmly, "I've heard of your reputation. Please don't belittle yourself. I truly appreciate your compassion and efforts. Don't hesitate to ask the Moore family for help in the future."
He then turned to Charlie Wade, "Mr. Wade, thank you for saving my life. Please don't hesitate to ask for anything the Moore family can do for you. I owe you my life."
Charlie Wade smiled, replying, "Lord Moore, you're too kind."
Noticing the lateness of the hour, Charlie Wade said, "Lord Moore, you've just recovered from a serious illness. Don't overexert yourself."
Lord Moore quickly responded, "Mr. Wade, you saved my life! How much is your fee? I'll pay double!"
Charlie Wade replied indifferently, "There's no need to pay. I'm here for Jasmine, my friend. Friends help each other."
Jasmine was surprised. Charlie Wade was giving her credit in front of her grandfather. Lord Moore would decide the inheritance and future roles of each family member. Gaining his favor could lead to leadership of the Moore family business—Jasmine's ambition. Charlie Wade was helping her achieve her goal by giving her all the credit!
Lord Moore turned to Jasmine, nodding. "Jasmine, thank Mr. Wade for saving your grandfather's life!"
Jasmine bowed deeply, replying in a serious tone, "Don't worry, Grandpa! I will definitely repay Mr. Wade!"
"Good," Lord Moore chuckled with satisfaction.
Sandwich, nearby, had a grim expression. Jasmine had taken all the credit, and his future looked bleak.
Charlie Wade didn't stay long. Seeing Lord Moore recovering, he prepared to leave. Lord Moore personally walked him to the door.
Anthony decided to leave with his granddaughter. Charlie Wade asked Anthony to stay at a hotel in Aurouss Hill for a few days so he could contact him when the medication was ready.
Anthony, grateful, bid farewell and watched Charlie Wade get into Jasmine's car.
On the way back, Jasmine said, "Mr. Wade, thank you for everything."
Charlie Wade smiled slightly, "It was a small matter. You don't have to be so formal. You never know, I might need your help in the future."
Jasmine replied promptly, "Mr. Wade, you can count on me!"
She then tentatively asked, "Mr. Wade, if you're not too busy, would you like to have a drink with me?" She had many questions, and she was also starting to feel an undeniable attraction towards him. She wanted to know more about him, and his secrets.

Charlie Wade glanced at his watch. It wasn't too late, and he hadn't had a drink in a while. He nodded, "Alright. You choose the place!"
Jasmine was delighted. "I know a great bar!"
She drove downtown to a bar called Sunny. She parked, handing her keys to the valet, and led Charlie Wade inside.
The waiter greeted her respectfully, "Good evening, Miss Moore! Your usual table?"
Jasmine nodded, and the waiter led them to the second floor, which was nearly empty.
Once seated, Jasmine ordered, "Two bottles of the finest 1982 Château Lafite Rothschild."
"Certainly, Miss Moore." The waiter bowed and quickly returned with the wine, opening and decanting it. Jasmine instructed him, "Tell your manager not to send any other guests to the second floor."
"Certainly, Miss Moore," the waiter bowed and left.
Charlie Wade curiously asked, "Do you own shares here?"
Jasmine smiled, "This bar was opened by a member of the Moore family."
Charlie Wade nodded, "The Moore family is quite influential."
Jasmine smiled, "We're just an ordinary family. While few in Aurouss Hill can match us, many families are wealthier and more powerful beyond it—the Scotts, the Lesters, the Hamiltons, the Osbornes, the Duncans and the most powerful, the Swires and the Wades."
Charlie Wade simply smiled. The Wade family. His family. He hadn't decided if he wanted to return. His life was already quite good; he owned Emgrand Group, had billions, and had discovered countless opportunities through the Apocalyptic Book. Returning to the Wade family meant submitting to their rules. He preferred his freedom.
Jasmine poured wine, handing a glass to Charlie Wade. "Mr. Wade, a toast!"
Charlie Wade looked at Jasmine's rosy complexion. "Jasmine, every drink should have a reason. Are we celebrating or commemorating something? Let's discuss before each glass. What do you think?"
The Amazing Son-in-Law Chapter 249
Jasmine grinned, "Okay! This first glass is to thank you for saving my grandfather, and for your support!"
Charlie Wade nodded, "Let's drink to that!" They clinked glasses and finished their wine.
Jasmine asked, "Mr. Wade, what's the reason for this second glass?"
Charlie Wade smiled. "This glass is to celebrate fate and destiny!"
"To destiny!" Jasmine exclaimed. She refilled their glasses. "This third glass is to celebrate Mr. Wade's incredible skills! I'm even more convinced Jack Yaleman's death wasn't a coincidence! Care to comment, Mr. Wade?"
Charlie Wade smiled casually, "Who knows if it was a coincidence? Only heaven knows! For mortals, it's a secret best kept!"
Jasmine laughed, "To keeping that secret!"
After a few glasses, Jasmine was feeling tipsy, though she could hold her liquor well. It was her turn to propose a toast.
Jasmine looked at Charlie Wade, her eyes wide, with a tipsy expression. "Mr. Wade, I've discovered you're a remarkable person."
"Remarkable? How so?" Charlie Wade chuckled.
"In many ways," Jasmine replied seriously. "That's why I think you're remarkable."
"What?" Charlie Wade laughed. "No hidden agendas in getting close to you?"
Jasmine replied, "I feel you're somewhat withdrawn, hiding something."
The Amazing Son-in-Law Chapter 250
Charlie Wade asked, "What do you mean?"
Jasmine replied seriously, "Mr. Wade, you seem simple and easygoing, yet extremely capable. You don't show off, but if pushed, you reveal your true abilities. Most importantly, I don't understand why you chose to be the Wilson family's son-in-law, being so capable. The Wilsons are just an ordinary, second or third-rate family."
Charlie Wade didn't answer but asked, "Then where do you think I belong?"
Jasmine replied seriously, "Someone like you should be married into a distinguished, top-tier family. Many powerful families would want you for their children. You're too talented."
She then added a more personal touch, explaining the pressures she faced: "Why would someone in a powerful family marry someone they don't love? If he marries into our family, wouldn't he live under our control for life? Children of wealthy families must attend elite schools, have impeccable manners. We're forbidden from dating or falling in love independently."
"What?" Charlie Wade was surprised. "It's the 21st century! Why are wealthy families so feudal?"
"This isn't feudalism," Jasmine said seriously. "It's a survival tactic for upper-class families."
"Survival tactic?" Charlie Wade asked.
Jasmine explained, "We need alliances and partnerships, exchanging resources. In the Moore family, all direct members must obey the marriage arrangements decided by the elders. There's no discussion. In the past, we even had a rule of intermarriage among cousins to prevent wealth dilution. Now it's relaxed; we still need to marry into a similarly powerful family. Though not more powerful, their status shouldn't be significantly lower."
Jasmine sighed, "Our family values teamwork. We'll always find ways to marry into other powerful families. All Moore family members must prioritize the family's interests, and obey the elders' marriage decisions."
Charlie Wade sighed. "So, there are challenges even for wealthy families. The more money, the more greed."
He realized he'd face a similar situation returning to the Wade family. They'd control him, scorn the Wilsons, and might force him to divorce Claire to marry into another wealthy family. He decided he shouldn't return to the Wade family.
He asked, "Jasmine, you're of marrying age. Has your family arranged your marriage?"
Jasmine shook her head. "The elders were arranging my cousin Reuben's marriage to the daughter of a wealthy family in the north. When Grandfather fell ill, they delayed it. Now that he's recovering, I expect they'll start planning mine soon"
