The Amazing Son-in-Law: Chapters 276-280
Chapter 276
The massive luggage contained the most effective medicinal ingredients! Several were so rare Charlie Wade couldn't even obtain them. Bewildered, he asked Aurora, "Where did your father get these incredible ingredients?"
"Our family has a diversified business, including medical supplies," she explained. "Our ancestors were medicinal merchants since the late 19th century, with a distribution network gathering the finest materials nationwide and supplying them to the city's wealthy and elite. We've been in this business ever since."
She added hastily, "My father says if you need any medical supplies or ingredients, tell us, and we'll do our best to help!"
Charlie Wade was astonished. Since acquiring the Apocalyptic Book, he'd been fascinated by its incredible, mysterious contents. It contained many medicinal formulas, but many ingredients were completely unknown to him. He'd been struggling with this issue, never expecting the Quintons to be a century-old medicinal supplier family! This was incredible luck.
He grinned. "Excellent! With your family's help, my medicine refining will be much easier!"
When Charlie Wade mentioned refining, Aurora hesitated, then knelt, startling him. "What are you doing?" he asked.
Aurora clasped her hands. "Master Wade! My father heard you're creating a magical potion and wants some. He urged me to ask if you could" She mumbled, unable to finish. Raised in affluence, she'd never begged anyone for anything. This usually bold young woman was humiliated.
Charlie Wade, seeing her unexpected shyness, understood her request. "Does your father want the medicine too?" he asked.
Aurora nodded frantically. "But if you don't want to, no worries!"
Charlie Wade laughed. The medicine he planned for Anthony and the Moores was low-grade in the Apocalyptic Book—nothing special. It was easy to refine with the raw materials; simpler than cooking! He couldn't refuse the Quintons' request, especially since he needed their help procuring ingredients. Securing their allegiance would make obtaining supplies easy.
He chuckled at the blushing, red-eyed Aurora, helped her up, and said, "I'll give your father the medicine."
"Really?" Aurora shrieked, overjoyed.
"Of course. Even if it weren't for your father, I couldn't say no to such a charming face." He meant it as a joke, but Aurora blushed even deeper.
To ease the tension, Charlie Wade added, "Because our families are now connected, I'll give your family two potions after I make them!"
Chapter 277
Graham and Aurora both coveted a potion from Charlie Wade—their greatest prize, enabling them to help critically ill relatives. They never expected him to offer two! Aurora stared, stunned, as if struck by lightning. Tears streamed down her face. "Master Wade are you serious?"
Charlie Wade laughed. "Why? Do you think I'm bluffing?"
"No, no!" Aurora shook her head, tears flying, creating a charming, humorous scene. Wiping her tears, she said thankfully, "I can't believe it! Thank you so much!" She bowed deeply.
Charlie Wade laughed. "Miss Quinton, tell your father that I, Charlie Wade, am a man of my word. I'll give him two potions, but he must help me whenever I need something from the Quinton family, and he'd better not deceive me. Understand?"
Aurora nodded excitedly. "Okay, I understand, Master Wade! Thank you!" She added timidly, "Master Wade you can call me Aurora"
Charlie Wade replied, "Okay, Aurora. Get up now."
"We're about the same age; you don't have to be so formal," he added.
"My father taught me to be polite to elders and masters. Master Wade, your powers are phenomenal; formality shows respect," Aurora replied.
"Haha! In our previous meetings, you were feisty. I never imagined this cultivated side. I'm amazed," Charlie Wade said.
Aurora was flustered. She wasn't cultivated; she was usually rowdy and argumentative. But with Charlie Wade, and due to her father's wishes, she felt unconsciously modest and respectful.
He checked his watch. "Aurora, thank you for the ingredients, but I need to go to the market. Let's go."
Aurora apologized for keeping him. Charlie Wade chuckled. "Don't worry. Go home and tell your father I'll contact him when the medicine is ready."
He helped her to her feet, left the ingredients in the kitchen, and departed. Aurora bowed repeatedly before getting into her car. Charlie Wade resumed his usual appearance, pulling a small grocery cart, heading to the wet market near his home.
Chapter 278
Aurora returned home, thrilled. Meanwhile, Graham anxiously awaited her, wondering if Charlie Wade would grant his request. The Quintons ranked higher than Zeke White's family, but paled in comparison to the Moores. He feared Charlie Wade might favor them.
As he paced, Aurora arrived. He rushed out. "Aurora, how did it go? Did Master Wade accept?"
Tears welled in her eyes as she repeatedly nodded. "Yes, Papa! He accepted!"
"That's amazing!" Graham exclaimed.
"Papa, Master Wade said he'll give us two!"
"What?!" Graham's surprise was palpable. "Two?! Two elixirs?! Are you sure?!"
Aurora nodded earnestly. "Yes, he said two elixirs!"
"Oh my god!" Tears filled Graham's eyes. "Does this mean he wants to help our family?"
"Yes! Master Wade said he wants our full cooperation whenever he needs medical supplies."
"Remarkable! With his help, our family will prosper!" Then, oddly, "Did he have any special requests when he saw you?"
Aurora's face turned bright red. She stammered, "Master Wade he said he said"
"What did he say?!"
Lowering her head, she mumbled, "Master Wade said he couldn't say no to such an adorable face"
Graham laughed aloud. "Wonderful! It seems Master Wade will become my son-in-law one day!"
Aurora murmured shyly, "Dad, what are you talking about"
"Anything is possible! Pursue Master Wade, or better yet, have his child! Our family will reach a whole new level!"
Humiliated, Aurora covered her face and ran to her room.
Chapter 279
News of Charlie Wade refining the elixir spread among Aurouss Hill's elite. Zeke White, Finn Baxendale, and Don Albertt Rhodes heard the news. Zeke, having shown his sincerity and given Charlie Wade a valuable gift, felt confident in requesting the potion.
He went to Charlie Wade's home and requested the elixir, just as Aurora had done. Charlie Wade didn't refuse; he was comfortable giving Zeke orders. His son and nephew's past behavior had been addressed, and Zeke's respectful demeanor made providing the elixir worthwhile.
Zeke bowed and thanked him profusely. The wealthy feared death; the elixir was a miracle drug to them.
After Zeke left, Charlie Wade retrieved ingredients and began refining a batch of pills. Using one-tenth of the ingredients, he made thirty pills, ten times more potent than the previous batch. This batch could almost cure fatal internal injuries and chronic ailments.
After refining, Charlie Wade kept twenty and called Jasmine, Anthony, Graham, and Zeke, informing them of a banquet at Don Albertt's Paradise Springs restaurant to distribute the elixirs. Everyone was overjoyed.
That evening, they waited at Paradise Springs. Charlie Wade prepared dinner for his family, then left, telling them he was meeting an old friend.
Zeke, Graham, Aurora, Jasmine, Anthony, Xyla, and Don Albertt were waiting at Paradise Springs, personally welcoming him. The restaurant was closed for the evening.
Chapter 280
They greeted Charlie Wade enthusiastically. "Welcome, Master Wade."
Charlie Wade smiled. "You're early. What time did you arrive?"
Jasmine smiled pleasantly. "Master Wade, it's rare for you to arrange such a dinner. We arrived early to show our respect." Jasmine wore a sophisticated black gown that highlighted her figure.
Charlie Wade couldn't help but notice Jasmine's elegance, contrasting with Claire's demeanor. Jasmine's upbringing gave her an air of refinement.
Aurora approached, blushing, and bowed. Unlike Jasmine's mature grace, Aurora's timid demeanor blended with her heroic appearance. She wore light makeup, appearing alluring and cold. Her feelings for Charlie Wade added a tenderness to her aura.
A disconcerting look appeared on Jasmine's eyes, subconsciously viewing Aurora as a rival. Did Aurora share her interest in Master Wade?
Unaware of the women's thoughts, Charlie Wade smiled. "Remember, don't be so formal. I prefer things relaxed."
Graham and Zeke expressed their respect, emphasizing Charlie Wade's status and influence. Anthony praised his medicinal abilities.
Charlie Wade nodded. "Let's go inside."
Jasmine smiled gently. "Master Wade, this way, please."
They entered the Ruby Suite, where dinner was served. Don Albertt, the owner, humbly welcomed them, surprised by the influential guests. The sight of these powerful figures showing such deference to Charlie Wade impressed even Don Albertt, a man of the underworld.
