The Amazing Son-in-Law: Chapters 291-295

Chapter 291

The host's words stunned the exhibition hall. The two cars—top-of-the-line luxury vehicles—were exceptionally rare, seen only at events like this. The same man owned both? These weren't cars that could be simply bought with money.

The Aston Martin One-77 was available only to Aston Martin members who already owned three or more Aston Martins worth tens of millions of dollars each. Only seventy-seven were made worldwide, and this was the only one in the country.

The Bugatti Veyron Hermes edition was even more exclusive, catering to the world's wealthiest individuals. This special collaboration made it incredibly expensive and rare.

That the same person owned both cars was astonishing. Charlie Wade, however, wasn't focused on the cars; he was searching for Claire Wilson in the crowd. After a long, unsuccessful search, he overheard a man nearby say, "Claire Wilson, come see these two cars! They're the best in the world, and it's my first time seeing them!"

Turning, Charlie saw Claire with a man and a woman. The man wore a suit and leather shoes; the woman, a form-fitting dress, paled in comparison to Claire. Claire smiled, addressing the man as "Mr. Grant," and explained her limited car knowledge. Mr. Grant, revealing his automotive expertise, explained his involvement with many car shows through his convention and exhibition center work.

Relieved that Claire seemed to be there on business, Charlie prepared to leave, fearing a misunderstanding if she saw him. But before he could escape, Claire spotted him. "Charlie Wade! What are you doing here?"

Caught off guard, Charlie replied, "I came to see the cars, my dear wife. Why are you here?"

Claire explained that she was with Mr. Jason Grant of the Grant family, former partners of the Wilson Group, and Jessica Zanders, a former high school classmate and Mr. Grant's assistant. Jessica, having heard of Charlie's status as a live-in son-in-law, expressed surprise at his presence. Jason, though concealing it, showed hostility towards Charlie.

Chapter 292

Jason, long interested in Claire, had never met Charlie before. He curiously asked, "I wonder what you do now, Charlie Wade?"

"I'm a vagrant," Charlie replied.

He had admired Claire while she worked for the Wilson Group and had deliberately sought her out when she started her own business. Jason, wanting to flaunt his status, sneered, "Aren't you terrified of embarrassing Claire by being here? This is for the wealthy and well-known."

Claire's face changed at Jason's mockery. Before she could respond, Charlie's eyes cooled. "Do you think this car show is that impressive? I wouldn't be here if it weren't for my car."

Jason scoffed. "Don't you know these cars are worth millions? You couldn't afford a single wheel!"

He continued, "You're a live-in son-in-law living off your wife and her parents. Hoping Claire will buy you a car, eh?"

Claire retorted, "Mr. Grant, Charlie doesn't need me to buy him a car. He bought me the car I drive."

Stunned, Jason and Jessica reacted skeptically. Claire revealed that Charlie had bought her a BMW 520 and her father a BMW 530. Jessica remained dismissive, implying they were insignificant vehicles. Jason condescendingly pointed out the relative cheapness of a BMW 520, contrasting it with the multi-million dollar cars on display.

Charlie, calmly pointing to the Aston Martin One-77 and Bugatti Veyron, challenged Jason: "You said I couldn't afford anything here. Can you afford those two?"

Jason boasted that he could afford all the cars except those two.

Chapter 293

Jason, seeking to impress Claire, offered her any car in the show except the two in the center, suggesting an Audi RS8 as a replacement for her "junk" BMW 520. He hoped to leverage his wealth and power to win her over. Jessica urged Claire to accept.

Claire declined, but Jason insisted, calling the two-million-dollar car "pocket change."

Charlie stepped in, stating they had their own cars and Claire wouldn't accept a car from Jason. Jason challenged Charlie, asking which car he could afford.

Charlie, grinning, pointed to the Aston Martin One-77 and Bugatti Veyron. Jason laughed, claiming they were inaccessible, protected by guards. Charlie countered that if he couldn't touch them, neither could Jason.

Chapter 294

Jason, enraged, approached the guard, identifying himself as the Aurouss Hilll Convention and Exhibition Center's deputy general manager. The guards, however, refused access, citing instructions from the car owner. Humiliated and embarrassed, Jason tried bribery, but the guards remained firm.

Jason threatened to evict the guards and cars, but they were employed by an outside security firm and unaffected by his threats. Charlie remarked on the irony of Jason's inability to touch the cars. Jessica again insulted Charlie.

A reporter and the crowd chimed in, criticizing Jason's behavior. Jason, desperate to save face, gave the guard 30 seconds to move or face eviction.

Chapter 295

A manager, Luke Marshall, arrived with bodyguards, seeking to resolve the commotion. Jason declared his ownership of the convention center. Luke explained that the cars were sold and under strict protection until the owner claimed them. Jason's arrogant demands were rejected.

Enraged, Jason threatened to evict the entire car show, but was informed of the hefty breach-of-contract penalty. Jessica warned of the chairman's displeasure.

Charlie mocked Jason's inability to touch the cars. Defiantly, Jason pushed past Luke to touch the Aston Martin One-77. The guards intervened, and Jason, further enraged, called for all the center's security guards. Luke, fearing a major incident, contacted Graham.
