Chapter 286

Charlie Wade waved his hand, saying, "Don't worry. Just help me when I ask, and I won't forget your contribution."

Albert quickly replied, "I'll never let you down!"

Everyone was shocked when Charlie Wade offered Don Albert the pill. Even though Albert was a leading mob boss in Aurous Hill, he was insignificant to them. They couldn't believe Charlie would give someone like Albert such a valuable pill simply because they knew each other. Charlie treated everyone surprisingly equally.

Albert wept, bowing before Charlie. "Mr. Wade, I never expected someone like you to even consider someone as insignificant as me. I'm truly grateful for your compassion"

Charlie grinned. "Albert, to me, everyone is equal. He's far inferior to you and your brothers in terms of status and strength. Even when he was in the hospital unable to commit suicide, I helped and protected him."

Albert's heart trembled; tears streamed down his face. He choked out, "Mr. Wade, I'll do everything I can for you in the future!"

Charlie placed the pill in Albert's hand. "If you follow me, you don't need to be the best. As long as you work hard for me wholeheartedly, I will protect you for life!"

Charlie meant what he said. He had immense wealth—tens of billions, and his company was worth billions more. He also had access to considerable strength and skill. As long as Albert followed him loyally, he would never suffer.

Charlie's words earned him even greater admiration and respect. They were determined to follow him wholeheartedly!

Zeke produced a smart key fob, offering it to Charlie. "Mr. Wade, this is the key for the Bugatti Veyron Hermes edition I bought for you. You can pick it up at the showroom tomorrow."

A standard Bugatti Veyron costs $26 million; the Hermes edition, $40 million.

Before Charlie could respond, Graham presented another key fob. "What a coincidence, Mr. Wade! I also bought you a car—a limited edition Aston Martin One-77."

The Aston Martin One-77 also cost $40 million.

Zeke and Graham were surprised by the coincidence. Zeke glared at Graham. "Graham, why did you buy Mr. Wade the same car as me? Are you trying to copy me?"

Graham replied confidently, "Why would I copy you? I simply thought Mr. Wade deserved the best sports car. That's why I bought him the Aston Martin One-77!"

Seeing them both give gifts, Anthony presented a yellow sandalwood box containing exquisite porcelain wine glasses.

"Mr. Wade," Anthony said, "these glasses have been in my family since the Ming Dynasty. They're one of my most prized possessions! I want to give them to you."

Seeing the others' gifts, Jasmine, having already received two pills from Charlie, wrote him a $100 million check.

Chapter 287

Charlie hadn't expected these gifts. They were incredibly expensive: two cars worth at least $40 million each, Ming Dynasty wine glasses worth $50–60 million, and a $100 million check from Jasmine.

To be honest, Charlie felt detached. He found cars flashy, didn't care for the wine glasses, and certainly didn't need money.

However, seeing their eagerness, he accepted the gifts indifferently. "Okay, I'll accept these gifts. Thank you." He needed to accept, given their gratitude and desire to follow him.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

Charlie casually pocketed the check and key fobs, setting the wine glasses aside. "Alright, let's eat!"

"Let's eat!" everyone replied.

Don Albert stood. "Mr. Wade, I'll keep watch outside."

Charlie nodded; he knew the others wouldn't be comfortable dining with a mob boss, regardless of Albert's character.

After dinner, Charlie declined Jasmine's offer of a ride home, preferring to walk. Jasmine thanked him and drove her Bentley back to her suite.

She pondered whether to give both pills to her grandfather or keep one. Keeping one felt selfish, but giving both away felt like a sacrifice. Ultimately, she decided to keep one for herself, planning to give the other to her grandfather only if absolutely necessary. She hoped that saving his life twice would earn her special favor.

Chapter 288

Lord Moore eagerly awaited Jasmine's return. Charlie had saved his life but hadn't fully restored his health. He remained weak and frail, and this physical debility was a source of immense frustration. He pinned all his hopes on the pill.

When Jasmine entered with the pill, Lord Moore struggled upright. "Jasmine, did Mr. Wade give you the medicine?"

Jasmine handed him the pill. "Grandfather, this is it. Take it now!"

Lord Moore excitedly asked, "Did Mr. Simmons take it?"

"Yes," Jasmine replied. "He took half, as prescribed, and all his old injuries and illnesses vanished instantly!"

Lord Moore was overjoyed. "I want to take it now."

The maid brought him warm water. The Moore family gathered, eager to witness the miracle. They hoped the pill would extend his life, allowing him to continue guiding and protecting them.

He swallowed the pill. Instantly, a surge of power coursed through him. He attempted to stand without his cane. Everyone braced themselves, ready to catch him if he fell.

He stood effortlessly! No strain, no trembling, no breathlessness!

He took a step, then another. He wasn't the dying man of just days before; he seemed middle-aged!

He swiftly regained strength and control. He walked several more steps, each one strong and steady.

"This is incredible! Mr. Wade is a god!" he exclaimed joyfully.

Then, turning to Jasmine, he declared, "Jasmine, with a son-in-law like Mr. Wade, I can live to be a hundred! You, your father, uncle, brother—we'll all live long and healthy lives! Three generations of centenarians—we'll be unshakeable!"

Jasmine was astonished. Her grandfather had been near death, weak and exhausted. Now, he seemed twenty years younger! The possibility of a centenarian in the family was incredibly significant.

Chapter 289

That night, everyone who received a pill couldn't sleep. Jasmine, witnessing her grandfather's transformation, was overjoyed. Thinking of the pill Charlie had given her, she felt a warmth in her heart, forever grateful for his kindness.

Aurora, of the Quinton family, was also sleepless, thinking of Charlie. Her father had given her one of the pills, instructing her to keep it safe. She held it close, feeling its warmth. She was thrilled Charlie had given it to her.

Meanwhile, Charlie slept soundly beside his wife.

Chapter 290

Claire left for her studio early. After days of preparation, it was finally ready to open. She wanted to build her business independently. Charlie understood. Since leaving the Wilson family, she'd been determined to prove herself.

Charlie went to the market. Reaching into his pocket, he remembered the gifts: two smart keys, antique wine glasses, and a $100 million check.

He put the wine glasses in the closet but decided against putting the keys and check there, fearing his mother-in-law, Elaine Ma, would find and claim them. The $100 million check alone would be terrifying to her.

He decided to carry them to the market.

Graham called. "Mr. Wade, did you like the car?"

"Not yet," Charlie replied.

Graham offered to have the car delivered, but Charlie declined, preferring to see it at the convention center. He didn't want the commotion of two $40 million cars parked in his neighborhood. He would keep them at the Thompson First villa.

Douglas, a university friend, called. "Charlie, where are you?"

Charlie said he was at the market. "What's wrong, Douglas?"

Douglas hesitated. "I'm at the Aurous International Auto Show…"

Charlie knew Douglas loved cars. "Seeing cars again?" he asked.

"Yes," Douglas replied. "There are some amazing limited edition sports cars. Then, he added, "Oh, I didn't call about the cars."

"Why then?" Charlie asked.

Douglas paused. "I saw your wife… with another man."

Charlie was shocked. Why hadn't Claire told him? They usually shared their plans, but this was different. Was she hiding something? His insecurity in their relationship surfaced. He feared she might be tempted.

"Thanks for letting me know, Douglas," Charlie said.

Douglas had to leave for a family matter. "You should check on Claire…" he said.

Charlie hailed a cab to the auto show. He found the Aston Martin and Bugatti, center stage, surrounded by crowds and reporters. Two burly guards stood watch.

The host announced they'd been sold. A reporter asked who bought them.

The host smiled. "One person owns both cars." The reporter was stunned.
