Chapter 306

The building erupted into chaotic activity. An unexpectedly extravagant opening ceremony—complete with a helicopter!—created a stunning scene. Everyone craned their necks to see the few people standing before the office.

Claire Wilson was stunned. She'd invited guests, but none with the means to afford a helicopter, nor this level of opulence.

A voice in the crowd exclaimed, "Isn't that the legendary Tiffany limited-edition flower basket? I heard it costs over a million dollars!"

Others gasped, "Wow, look at those flowers! They're breathtaking!"

"Those are Dutch tulips! Rare bulbs can cost thousands, even tens of thousands of dollars! And there are Blue Enchantress hydrangeas and Juliet roses all incredibly rare! They can only be airlifted from abroad."

"No wonder they used a helicopter! They were probably delivered straight from the airport!"

"That Tiffany basket alone is a million, and those other flowers are probably half a million per basket…"

"There are… twenty baskets… That's over five million dollars worth of flowers!"

"Five million dollars for an opening ceremony?! That's incredibly generous!"

"And they'll wilt in days! It's so extravagant…"

Claire's grandmother, Mrs. Wilson, gulped nervously. She loved gardening, and her own garden was filled with flowers she'd planted herself. The thought of the exorbitant cost of these rare imported bulbs, especially the classic red and white Dutch tulips (upwards of ten thousand dollars each), weighed heavily on her.

Wendy, observing the scene, whispered to Mrs. Wilson, "Grandma, you always wanted Dutch tulips, but couldn't afford them. How could they give Claire such a lavish gift?"

Mrs. Wilson's teeth clenched. Her own inexpensive local tulips paled in comparison to Claire's display. She wondered if she could pilfer a few bulbs for her own garden.

Suddenly, the front desk announced, "Miss Doris Young (Emgrand Group Vice Chairman), Miss Jasmine Moore, Mr. Zeke White, Mr. Graham Quinton, and Mr. Anthony Simmons have arrived for Mrs. Wade's opening ceremony!"

The news shocked not only the Wilson family but the entire Bright Celebrity Building staff. Emgrand Group owned the building, but rarely interfered. The Vice Chairman, along with several other Aurouss Hilll notables, were attending Claire's event!

This influx of VIPs added an air of enchantment, sparking intense curiosity about Claire's background and connections. The Wilson family was particularly astonished. Claire herself was speechless. These names were enough to make her uneasy.

She considered herself a humble, inexperienced entrepreneur with little established credibility in Aurouss Hilll. Why were these influential people here? Could it be… because of her husband, Charlie Wade?

Chapter 307

The crowd parted as if an invisible barrier had formed, creating a path. Doris and Jasmine, two elegantly dressed women with radiant smiles, walked towards the door. Behind them came Zeke White with Kevin and Gerald, Graham Quinton with Aurora and Adam, and Anthony Simmons with his granddaughter, Xyla—a group resembling a team of Avengers. Albert Rhodes followed behind.

Wendy's jaw dropped. These Aurouss Hilll power players rarely appeared in public, yet they were here to celebrate Claire, fueling Wendy's envy and agitation. Wendy, daughter of a wealthy family and once considered one of the city's most eligible bachelorettes, felt her achievements pale in comparison to Claire's. She believed she’d found a great husband, a way to surpass her cousin, but now, everything seemed insignificant. A vast chasm separated her from Claire.

"Claire Wilson, what kind of lucky break did you get?!" Wendy hissed, her envy undisguised.

Claire, lost in a daze, nudged Charlie Wade and asked, "Did you invite these people?"

Charlie nodded. "Yes. I provided them with feng shui and fortune-telling services, and built relationships from there."

Claire sighed, rubbing her forehead. She'd repeatedly warned Charlie against these practices. Not only had he ignored her, but he'd expanded his "services" to influential figures. What if they discovered his deception?

She wanted to persuade him to stop, but Doris and Jasmine had already reached them.

Jasmine, after a discreet glance at Claire, extended her hand. "Mrs. Wade, congratulations. I hope to utilize your services if we need design solutions in the future!"

The Wilson family stared, astonished. Jasmine's words sounded like a humble request, rather than a business proposition.

Claire shook Jasmine's hand, her tone slightly nervous. "Thank you, Miss Moore!"

As they spoke, Jasmine and Claire assessed each other. Physically comparable, Claire lacked Jasmine’s innate grace and sophistication. Claire felt somewhat inferior.

Jasmine continued, "Mrs. Wade, you're Master Wade's wife, making you my client. Please be at ease."

Chapter 308

It was clear: they were here because of Charlie.

Claire glanced at Charlie, who was greeting other guests, a pang of envy rising within her. She hadn't expected the esteemed Miss Moore to respect her husband so highly. He possessed an air of mystery.

Doris approached, shaking Claire's hand. "Congratulations, Mrs. Wade. Emgrand Group has several projects awaiting your consideration."

"Seriously?!" Claire exclaimed, shocked. A sixty-million-dollar contract with Emgrand would have thrilled the Wilson family.

Doris smiled. "We have nearly three hundred million dollars worth of interior design and renovation projects. The contract is ready if you're interested."

The Wilson family's jaws dropped. Three hundred million dollars? Offered to Claire? Why would Emgrand Group, with their power and prestige, flatter Claire? Even ten percent of that project would revitalize the Wilson family business.

Mrs. Wilson felt a crushing blow to her heart. Had she known Claire's influence, she would have welcomed her back into the family, even if it meant humbling herself. She resolved to reclaim Claire and those Emgrand projects at any cost.

Zeke White, his son Kevin, and nephew Gerald approached. Zeke said, "Mrs. Wade, congratulations! The White family will be your first call for future projects."

Claire thanked him. Kevin and Gerald offered their congratulations. Their demeanor was deferential, and their respect for Claire seemed genuine; Charlie had become their family's guardian angel.

Chapter 309

Wendy watched the Whites approach Claire with frustration and bitterness. She was supposed to marry Gerald, become the daughter-in-law of the White family. Now, he treated her like a stranger, ignoring her calls and contacts. The respect he showed Claire was unbearable.

Tears streaming down her face, Wendy grabbed Gerald's arm. "Gerald! Why didn't you call…"

Ice filled Gerald's eyes. He pulled away. "I have nothing to do with you. I'm here to congratulate Master and Mrs. Wade."

Wendy's patience snapped. "You're all blind! Charlie Wade is a moocher, a loser! Why do you bow to him?"

Gerald slapped her. "Stop talking, you bitch! Who do you think you are? I'll kill you!"

Mrs. Wilson intervened, asking Zeke to control his nephew.

Zeke sneered. "Normally, I'd break her leg for what she said, but I don't want to ruin the day. And you, who do you think you are? You ordered Harold Wilson to take the vacation home I gave Master Wade, you old witch! I only spared you because of Master and Mrs. Wade. Say one more word, and I'll—"

Mrs. Wilson trembled. Her usual authority was gone. She apologized profusely. Zeke dismissed her curtly.

Wendy, distraught, clung to Gerald, begging for another chance. He pushed her away, disgusted. "Get away from me! If you approach me again, I swear I'll kill you!"

Wendy was stunned. Gerald was a stranger.

Chapter 310

Gerald knew he’d nearly offended Charlie Wade due to Wendy's deception. Charlie's forgiveness spared his family disaster. Wendy's attempt at reconciliation was like pushing him back into the fire.

He shoved Wendy, who fell to the floor. "Wendy Wilson, get away from me!"

Seeing Gerald's anger, Wendy was heartbroken. She saw Claire as the cause of her misfortune.

Claire, feeling sympathy for her cousin, asked Gerald to be lenient. He apologized. Wendy’s fury intensified, blaming Claire.

Wendy lunged at Claire, screaming. Before Charlie could react, Albert tackled Wendy.

Albert yelled, "How dare you attack Mrs. Wade! I'll kill you!" He ordered his men to drag Wendy outside and give her a whipping. Christopher pleaded for mercy, but Albert refused.
