Chapter 331

Girl Wilson's composure crumbled the moment Charlie Wade exposed her true intentions. She had assumed manipulating Claire and Charlie, whom she considered trash, would be easy. She believed a simple apology from Harold and Wendy would suffice. She hadn't anticipated Charlie to see through her scheme.

When her plan was revealed, Girl Wilson hesitated before saying, "We're family! We should work together for the family's success. Wouldn't it be a public joke if our family ran two competing businesses?"

Charlie sneered. "Li Ka-shing and his son run separate companies. Is anyone making fun of them? You have ulterior motives. You're trying to use Claire to revitalize the Wilson Group for your benefit!"

"Youyou" Girl Wilson sputtered, enraged. "You're an outsider!"

Ignoring her, Charlie turned to Claire. "Keep your eyes open. They pretended to promote you, but actually announced Harold as the new director!"

Claire's face fell. She finally understood. She was grateful for Charlie's warning.

Seeing their plan unraveling, Harold pointed at Charlie. "Charlie Wade! You stinking piece of garbage! Are you trying to cause trouble? Are you tired of living?!"

Charlie stared coldly at Harold. "Tired of pretending to be nice? Let me tell you something, Harold. Be respectful. Otherwise, I'll call Don Albert, and he'll have his men chase you out of Aurouss Hill!"

"Damn you, Charlie Wade!" Harold roared. "Who do you think you are? You're just a trickster! Wait until they see through your tricks!"

Charlie sneered. "They haven't seen through my tricks yet. They still call me master." He added contemptuously, "Want to keep acting? Fine. I'll call Albert now!"

Charlie dialed Albert, putting the call on speakerphone. Harold's face paled, breaking into a cold sweat. Was Charlie really calling Don Albert?

Chapter 332

Albert answered promptly: "Mr. Wade, I have men throughout Aurouss Hill—clubs, bars, construction sites. Just give the order, and they'll hunt him down and eliminate him! I'll have them search daily until he wishes he'd never been born!"

Terrified, Harold knelt before Charlie, begging. "Charlie Wade, I was joking! Please don't take it seriously. We're family."

Charlie smiled wryly. "We're not family."

The call connected. Albert greeted Charlie politely. "Mr. Wade, what can I do for you?"

Charlie looked at Harold. "Albert, if I want someone hunted down, how many men can you send?"

Chapter 333

Harold, already terrified, urged his mother to tell the truth. Christopher pleaded with his mother to confess.

Girl Wilson, defeated, sighed. "Charlie Wade is right. I planned to trick you all back to the villa to manipulate Claire into returning to the Wilson Group."

Before she could shift blame, Charlie interrupted. "Enough. You've explained your intentions. You can leave."

"Charlie Wade," she insisted, "let me finish. I had my reasons."

Charlie responded coldly, "You brought this on yourself!" He continued, "If you know what's good for you, leave this ward now. Otherwise"

He ordered Albert, "If that old woman tries to talk back, have your men hunt down Christopher and Harold!"

Albert readily agreed. Girl Wilson, defeated, nodded. "Let's go." Christopher, Harold, and Wendy helped her leave.

Jacob sighed dejectedly. Elaine lamented the loss of their pensions.

Claire smiled gratefully at Charlie. "Thank you. Without you, I would've been fooled again."

Charlie grinned. "I'm your husband. Why so polite?" He added, "Let's let Dad rest. I'll take care of him. You focus on your new business."

Claire nodded. "I understand. I'll give it my all!"

Chapter 334

Back home, Girl Wilson felt like collapsing. Recently, they'd celebrated a major contract with Emgrand Group. Now, the Wilson family faced bankruptcy. Emgrand had severed ties, and other partnerships crumbled, leaving them with massive debts and dwindling funds. Wendy's engagement to the White family was also off.

Girl Wilson wept. She'd never anticipated this outcome. The Wilson Group might not only close but also face crippling debt, possibly losing their home. It was all due to her greed and arrogance. If she hadn't tried to take Charlie's suite, Jacob and Claire wouldn't have left.

Christopher was devastated: their business, Wendy's happiness, Harold's future, and his own humiliation.

He asked Girl Wilson, "Mom, is there any hope?"

Girl Wilson wept. "I don't know. If we don't declare bankruptcy, the debt will crush us."

Christopher suggested asking old friends for investment.

Girl Wilson bitterly smiled. "Who would invest after being blacklisted by Emgrand? Everyone uses each other!"

Harold asked, "Granny, how is Charlie friends with so many powerful people who respect him? What benefit could he possibly give them?"

Girl Wilson sneered, "He's just a smooth-talking liar, like those fake fortune-tellers!"

Harold was confused. Girl Wilson concluded, "He'll make a mistake soon. I can't wait to see him fall!"

Chapter 335

Two Rolls-Royces arrived at the Wilson home. Six bodyguards escorted a well-dressed middle-aged man, Kenneth Wilson, who carried a copy of the Wilson family tree.

He asked his aide, "Is this the Aurouss Hill Wilson family?"

The aide confirmed. Kenneth remarked on their impoverished state. The aide suggested leaving, but Kenneth explained that his father had been saved by a member of the Aurouss Hill Wilson family during the Resistance War, and he wanted to express his gratitude.

The aide was amazed by the connection. Kenneth instructed him to knock on the door.

Christopher, wiping away tears, answered the door. Seeing Kenneth, the bodyguards, and the Rolls-Royces, he sensed this wasn't an ordinary man.

Kenneth asked if Christopher was a Wilson descendant. Christopher confirmed. Kenneth introduced himself as the head of the Eastcliff Wilson family, explaining the connection to Christopher's father. He then revealed his identity: the chairman of Modestway Group, a huge public company.

Christopher was astonished and overjoyed. He eagerly inquired about the connection between their fathers. Kenneth shared that his father had passed away still wishing to thank the man who saved his life.
