The Amazing Son in Law: Chapters 366-370
Chapter 366
Wendy no longer received any spending money from Kenneth, nor did he discuss further financial investments. It seemed she would only receive more money if she helped him regain his potency quickly; otherwise, he would abandon her and the family. The $10 million Kenneth had given was barely enough to manage the Wilson Group's current crisis, far from enough to restore its former glory.
Christopher, standing near Kenneth, said, “One pill at a time; it's very potent.” Kenneth nodded, took three pills, and swallowed them. He took Wendy's hand and urged, “Wendy, let's go upstairs.” He hoped the medication would work wonders.
Wendy readily responded, wrapping her arms around him and saying coyly, “Dear, let's go to our room and try again.”
Kenneth pulled Wendy back into the room. They engaged in sexual activity, Wendy trying her best to help him achieve satisfaction and regain his manhood. However, despite her efforts, it didn't work!
Frustrated, Kenneth swallowed three more pills, but felt nothing. His mood plummeted. Seeing Wendy still moving on top of him, he angrily kicked her off the bed, shouting, “I don’t need you anymore, get lost!”
Wendy, fearing he would hit her, quickly said, “Dear, calm down. I’m sure we can find a way to cure you soon!”
“Argh! Get lost!” Kenneth roared, throwing a cushion at her. Not wanting to further anger him, Wendy quickly dressed and ran from the room. Kenneth lay alone on the bed, huffing and puffing in frustration. At the height of his life, his greatest desire was to have beautiful women surrounding him, living the best life possible. Impotence had essentially ended all that. What was the use of having these women? He couldn't accept this fate.
Just as he was wallowing in anger, his phone rang. It was his mother. He answered humbly, “Hello, Mother, why are you up so late?”
"What did you do?! Are you trying to kill me? Do you want me dead at 84?!"
"Mother, what are you talking about? Why would I want to kill you?”
“Let me ask you, why did you offend Anthony Simmons? He wants to sever ties with our family, do you know that?”
Chapter 367
Kenneth shivered in shock. Even after his altercation with Charlie Wade, Anthony not only refused to help but wanted to cut ties with the entire family? What kind of influence did Charlie Wade have over him?
Agitated and furious, Kenneth said, “Mother, that old coot is unstable! He’s a criminal!”
Barbara yelled angrily, “I don’t care what you do, but you’d better bring Anthony to Eastcliff for my 84th birthday to see me and treat my health problems. If you don’t, just wait and see!”
People become more selfish as they age, more fearful of death, wanting to live longer. Barbara didn’t care about the fight between Kenneth and Anthony; she only wanted Anthony to remain her personal doctor. With Anthony, she believed she could live past ninety; without him, she might not even make it through the year.
Kenneth was depressed by his mother's blame. He wanted to explain and complain, but Barbara wouldn't listen. She stated her demands and ended the call.
Frustrated, Kenneth vented his anger by smashing the furniture. Finally, he called Anthony, attempting to apologize and beg him to continue treating his mother. Anthony’s phone was off, further infuriating Kenneth. Not daring to disobey his mother, he dressed, left the house, and drove to Anthony's clinic. The clinic's door was locked. As Kenneth gritted his teeth in frustration, he saw two figures leaving a nearby alley. One was hopping, and looked familiar.
Kenneth hid to observe them. He recognized a man in his fifties and a young man in his twenties. The younger man was leaning on a crutch and carrying a large green gas can. The older man was supporting the younger one and carrying another gas can. Kenneth recognized the younger man—he had been at the clinic earlier seeking treatment. It appeared the men were planning to set fire to the clinic because Anthony refused service!
The young man was Jason Grant, the one who had been thrown from a hospital window by Don Albert. The incident had broken his legs, causing his limp. He hated Charlie Wade for what had happened and sought Anthony's help before confronting Charlie, but Anthony refused him entry! He complained to his father, Justin Grant. Angered, they had obtained two barrels of gasoline and decided to burn down Anthony's clinic. They planned to set the Serene World Clinic ablaze to teach Anthony a lesson, then find a way to get revenge on Charlie Wade.
Kenneth heard Jason ask Justin, “Father, do you think the old coot is inside?”
“How would I know?” Justin said coldly. “Besides, who cares? If he’s inside, he deserves to be burned to death! Damn him for being so inconsiderate to you! Damn it!”
Jason cursed in frustration, “Damn it, the old coot doesn't even want to help me! Burning him to death is too cheap a lesson for him!”
Chapter 368
Jason opened the barrel cap, saying, “Daddy, I think it’s better to pour the gasoline near the rolling shutter so it spreads evenly. When we light the fire from outside, it will spread quickly, even the cockroaches won’t survive!”
Justin snorted, “Good! Let’s burn them to ashes, these sons of bitches!”
Though not a powerful leader in Aurouss Hill, Justin was number one when it came to spoiling his son. Their family had only ever had one male heir for generations. After many children, Justin finally had a son, Jason, who was spoiled rotten. In elementary school, when Jason’s teacher caned his hand for being disruptive, Justin brought people to the school and broke the teacher's arm, permanently disabling him. In junior high, when Jason lost a fight, Justin arranged a car accident that left the other boy in a vegetative state. Numerous similar incidents occurred throughout Jason's upbringing. In Justin’s view, the only consequence for bullying his son was death! Since Anthony wouldn't treat his son, he must die! Charlie Wade was the cause of his son's condition, therefore, he must die! He had a plan: burn Anthony today and kill Charlie tomorrow!
Just as father and son were about to pour the gasoline, Kenneth, fearing they would actually kill Anthony, anxiously shouted, “Hey! Stop!”
Father and son were shocked. They thought no one would be around at night, yet a man had appeared. Jason recognized Kenneth. “Hey, aren’t you the man who came to see Anthony today? Why are you here? Trying to help him?”
Kenneth waved his hands, “No way! If you burn him, his miracle pill will be destroyed!”
Jason stared in shock! Why hadn't he thought of that? Anthony had a miracle pill that could even heal quadriplegics. The pill would work perfectly on his broken legs. If he killed Anthony, he’d lose the chance to recover!
Kenneth continued, “Guys, I have an idea. Don’t burn the clinic. Let’s kidnap him, take the pill, then kill him!”
Justin frowned suspiciously. “Huh? Do you have a beef with the old dog, too?”
“Of course!” Kenneth growled, “He’s my arch-enemy! I want to kill him too, but first, I need that miracle pill to heal myself.”
Jason said, “In that case, let’s join forces. We’ll kidnap the old dog, force him to hand over the pill, then kill him and throw him into the sea!”
“Great!” Kenneth nodded. “Let’s exchange contact information. We’ll discuss the details tomorrow!”
Chapter 369
Justin and Jason didn't know Anthony only had half a pill, but Kenneth did, having almost obtained it earlier. He didn't dare confront Anthony himself, but by using the unaware father and son, he could reap the benefits with minimal effort. He could create a few fake pills based on the real ones. After they kidnapped Anthony, he could find the real pill and substitute it. He could cure his impotence and blame Anthony’s death on them!
Justin didn’t overthink it. The enemy of his enemy was his friend. They shared an enemy, so they could be allies. He didn’t know how many pills Anthony had, but Anthony had to die regardless. He exchanged numbers with Kenneth and agreed to call the next day. Then, he and Jason left with the gas cans.
Kenneth was meticulous. He drove back to the Wilson family villa to create fake pills using dough, black paint, and shaping them into spheres.
Meanwhile, in another car, Jason asked Justin, “Dad, what’s the plan for tomorrow? Lure Charlie Wade out and kill him, then meet this guy to kill Anthony Simmons together?”
Justin replied, “Yes! Kill Charlie Wade first, then get the miracle pill from Anthony and heal your legs!”
“That’s amazing!” Jason squealed. “If we get the pill, I won’t be a cripple anymore!”
Justin grinned. “Son, don’t worry. I won’t let you limp forever. I’ll even trade my legs for yours!” He added, “Let’s go home and rest. Tomorrow, call Elaine Ma and proceed as planned!”
Chapter 370
The next morning, Charlie Wade had breakfast at home. After finishing, Elaine Ma left to play cards. She loved cards and often visited friends to play. As she left, her phone rang. It was Jason. She answered, “Hey, Jason, what’s wrong?”
Since Claire Wilson married Charlie Wade, Elaine Ma had only wanted her daughter to divorce him and marry into a wealthy family. She'd wanted her to marry Wendell Jones, but the Jones family went bankrupt overnight, disappearing from Aurouss Hill. Then, she wanted her daughter to marry Kevin White, but he disappeared after being severely beaten. A few days prior, she wanted her daughter to marry Jason Grant, but he also disappeared after being thrown from a window. Jason was currently the best candidate. Though he brought a fake doctor to treat her husband, he was a victim too, so Elaine hadn't blamed him. She felt guilty about what happened to Jason; he didn't deserve such harsh treatment.
Jason’s earnest voice sounded, “Auntie, I’m sorry for what happened at the hospital. I was tricked into bringing a fake doctor. I’m very sorry and haven't had the chance to apologize…”
Elaine Ma said, “Hey, Jason, what are you talking about!”
“No, Auntie, it’s my fault for not verifying Dr. Lynch’s qualifications.” He added, “I’d like to invite you to lunch to apologize in person, if that’s okay.”
Elaine Ma was thrilled! She didn't think Jason was wrong; she felt he was a victim. He even broke his leg because of Charlie Wade. She pitied him. Jason's call improved her impression of him. He was rich, kind, generous, and respectful. A great husband for her daughter! If she could get her daughter to spend more time with Jason and get rid of Charlie Wade, her daughter could marry rich! The Grant family had a convention center with huge renovation projects. If her daughter married Jason, she’d get all the projects and could subcontract them for a profit! This was much better than being with Charlie Wade! It was hard to find a nice guy like Jason; she was determined to seize this opportunity!
She quickly said, “Oh, Jason, you’re too kind! You don’t need to do that…”
“It’s important, Auntie.” Jason, hearing the interest in her tone, added, “To show my sincerity, I’ve prepared a million-dollar gift for you!”
A million-dollar gift?! Elaine Ma smiled ear to ear! Jason was so kind and generous! She'd be rich! She readily agreed, “Jason, tell me the time and place, I’ll be there!”
Jason said, “Auntie, let’s meet at the Divine Lounge on Hazel Street. It’s the best seafood restaurant in Aurouss Hill. Noon, see you there.”
“Okay!” Elaine Ma replied delightedly.
Jason continued, “Auntie, please don’t tell Claire about our plan. I’m organizing an apology ceremony for her and need your help!”
Elaine Ma replied, “Of course! You young people are so romantic! Okay! I promise I won’t tell her!”
