Listen to this chapter:

Leon lounged on the sofa, chatting with Sienna and Frank. Frank asked him about something that happened online. Unable to hold back, Leon vented about Ploche. He downed a glass of liquor and exclaimed, โ€œTye never felt this embarrassed before, all thanks to my dear sister!โ€

Frank was surprised to see Leon lose so badly to Phoebe and in such a humiliating way. He looked at Leon with a hint of sympathy and said, โ€œYou and Reece have really drawn the short straw.โ€

โ€œI called Reece to come out for drinks. But as soon as he heard you were bringing your sister, he refused,โ€ Frank chuckled. โ€œI never knew he could be so timid.โ€ He added that Reece was worried about being spotted meeting Sienna privately, fearing Phoebe would misunderstand.

Frank wanted to say that the misunderstanding had probably already happened. Reece shouldnโ€™t worry about it.

Leon tugged at his tic, his eyes filled with sarcasm. โ€œItโ€™s even more ridiculous that he pretends to be so devoted to Phoebe now.โ€

โ€œWe had suffered at the hands of Phoebe. We are supposed to be in this together, but he walks away and puts all the blame on my shoulders. I donโ€™t want to drink with him.โ€

Mentioning Reece made Leon even angrier. โ€œHeโ€™s just like Jamar. Both are useless allies.โ€

Frank said, โ€œThat just shows Phoebe is quite capable.โ€ Though he wasnโ€™t familiar with Phoebe, he often heard Brenda talk about her as a good friend. After returning home, he learned about what happened with the two childhood friends and became curious about Phoebe. If she could take down both Reece and Leon, she was definitely not someone to be underestimated. What worried Frank was that Brenda and Phoebe might not be a good influence on each other.

Since Brenda returned, she hadnโ€™t reached out to him and had been avoiding his company. As time passed, he couldnโ€™t just sit back anymore and had to fetch her himself. But when he reached out, Brenda refused to meet him. She hung up the phone and blocked him. Frank thought she likely learned that from Phoebe.

He rubbed his forehead. โ€œWill Phoebe be a bad influence on Brenda?โ€

Leon couldnโ€™t help but smirk. โ€œYes, she will. But your little firecracker was never a pushover. On her very first day back here, Brenda publicly confronted Reece at the airport. Phoebe might be tough, but she wouldnโ€™t dare to challenge me.โ€

Frank sighed. โ€œExactly, thatโ€™s why Iโ€™m worried about the two of them hanging out. Itโ€™ll be harder for me to manage.โ€ He hadnโ€™t expected Brenda to confront her brother over Phoebe.

Leon wore a look of amusement. โ€œIโ€™m just waiting to see the show between you and that little firecracker. I wonder if you can win her back.โ€ He continued, โ€œHe was thrown aside by my sister, and it looks like he has no plans to pick her up again. In my opinion, you both brought this on yourselves.โ€ He added, โ€œWhy get caught up in all this romance! Being single like me means you can do whatever you want. Plus, no woman disrespects me.โ€

Frank glanced at Sienna, who was snuggled up in Leonโ€™s arms. He raised an eyebrow. โ€œSo you even treat your sister like thisโ€ฆโ€ Though he didnโ€™t finish his sentence, the implication was clear.

Leon shot him an annoyed look. โ€œDonโ€™t talk nonsense. Sienna is my sister.โ€

Sienna shot Frank a playful glare. โ€œExactly, Frank. Donโ€™t overthink it. Leon just spoils me.โ€

Frank was at a loss for words. He had never seen anyone spoil a sister like that before. However, as Leonโ€™s friend, he refrained from saying it outright.

Chapter 11

Frank raised his glass, saying, โ€œCome on, letโ€™s drink?โ€ Leon clinked his glass with Frankโ€™s.

Hearing their conversation, Phoebe and Brenda were tempted to join in. Brenda snapped a few photos of Leon casually leaning against the back of the sofa, holding Sienna, and chatting with Frank. These photos would definitely create a stir if shared.

At that moment, they saw Edith stand up to pour Frank some more wine. Then, as if she accidentally slipped, she suddenly fell into Frankโ€™s lap.

Phoebe couldnโ€™t help but laugh at the scene. โ€œTheyโ€™re really sisters. Theyโ€™re all cut from the same cloth. Sienna did the same thing to Reece.โ€ Phoebe had previously leaked some flirty photos of Reece and Sienna, which had slightly awkward angles. But the two had indeed been flirting, and the photos werenโ€™t edited. Even if Sienna had acted intentionally, Reece didnโ€™t back away, so it was a nil-sum game. If a man truly wanted to avoid a misunderstanding with another woman, he should have kept his distance. Claiming innocence and insisting it was a misunderstanding was even worse than outright cheating. Although Edith had initiated the ambiguity, she only had the chance to fall into Frankโ€™s lap because he kept her close.

Brenda looked at the situation with sarcasm. โ€œNo wonder Reece and Frank get along so well. Theyโ€™re both the same type.โ€ She scoffed. โ€œTheyโ€™re scumbags but donโ€™t have any self-awareness. Disgusting.โ€

Phoebe agreed. โ€œExactly.โ€ She saw Edith fall onto Frank again. Frank reached out to steady her. Edith seemed to lose her balance once more and ended up directly in his arms. It looked incredibly flirty. Phoebe knew this was deliberately staged by Edith for Brenda to see.

Then, Leon teasingly looked at Frank. He joked, โ€œThatโ€™s an awkward position. If Brenda sees this, I wonder if she will tear you apart.โ€ Everyone knew that Brenda had chased Frank all the way abroad.

The others immediately joined in. โ€œWhy not bring Brenda out for drinks?โ€

Frank shot them a look. โ€œDonโ€™t make a fuss. If Brenda sees this, she will definitely tear me apart.โ€ They werenโ€™t speaking to each other due to the argument about Edith.

Frank glanced at Edith in his lap, frowning. โ€œAre you okay?โ€ He hinted that Edith should get up immediately.

Edith blushed and replied, โ€œSorry, I slipped on some water on the floor.โ€ As she spoke, she pretended to get up but took her time doing so.

Seeing this, Phoebe nudged Brenda and said, โ€œBrenda, this is the perfect chance to blow Frankโ€™s cover and cut ties completely.โ€ Though they hadnโ€™t officially defined their relationship, Frank had been keeping Brenda hanging for quite a while. What he said earlier only reinforced that notion. Now, he had another woman sitting in his lap. Even if Edith had โ€œaccidentallyโ€ fallen into it, it didnโ€™t change their flirty position. If he could maintain some distance and not give Edith the chance, this situation would never happen.

What irritated Phoebe even more was how they linked her and Brenda together. She felt the urge to take action. Brendaโ€™s face darkened, clearly on the same wavelength as Phoebeโ€™s.

She nodded. โ€œAlright. Since he thinks Iโ€™ll let him off the hook, Iโ€™ll gladly make that happen.โ€
