His words stunned the four Jenkins family members. Nathaniel was momentarily surprised. He hadn’t expected Frank to know this. Maintaining his composure, he nodded. “That is indeed the principle.” Nathaniel chose to be honest because he knew he couldn’t lie his way out of it. If Frank or Elliot sought out a more powerful practitioner, they would eventually learn the truth. It was better to admit it openly now.

Leon frowned. “So, if you use my blood, it will injure the one who cast the evil energy on us?” Nathaniel nodded. “Yes, that is the only way to break the curse.” He added, “However, the person on the receiving end won’t be too seriously harmed. It will simply reflect the pain back onto them. It’s like letting them taste their own medicine.” The implication was clear: retaliating wasn’t morally wrong.

If Elliot weren’t present, and if they didn’t already know the culprit was Phoebe, Sienna would have already urged Leon to do it. But knowing Leon’s vengeful and ruthless nature, she assumed he wouldn’t let Phoebe off so easily. However, Leon hesitated. If he retaliated, that would only deepen the feud between him and Phoebe. Previously, all he did was ruin Phoebe’s reputation. He had only wanted to force her to come back and apologize. After all, quitting her career as a celebrity and returning to the Jenkins family as a proper heiress wasn’t really a loss for her. He was afraid that Nathanael had other ulterior motives.

Hearing Leon’s decision, Elliot let out a sigh of relief. Thankfully, this son of his was not ruthless to the point of being completely heartless. However, Sienna could not understand Leon’s choice. “When has Leon become so soft-hearted? Shouldn’t he have retaliated with double the force?” She could not accept it. Since Elliot was present, she didn’t dare to show her anger outright. However, when Elliot and the others weren’t paying attention, she reached out and tugged at Joshua’s sleeve.

Joshua hesitated. After all, the backlash would be directed at Phoebe. He didn’t want something to go wrong or for there to be unexpected consequences. Seeing that Joshua remained silent, Sienna pinched Cain on the back. Cain’s thoughts were similar to Joshua’s. Seeing that neither of them spoke up to support her, Sienna was furious.
