Chapter 130

Leon and Frank suddenly stopped hurting. Just like that. One second, they were in pain; the next, they werenโ€™t. Everyone froze, completely learing Frankโ€™s words. Sienna and Edith instinctively turned to Nathaniel at the same time. Their plan had totally backfired.

Even Nathaniel was thrown off. He could tell the two of them were actually fine now. The pain was gone, their breathing was steady, and they even sounded more energized. Nathaniel figured Phoebe must have done it on purpose. Only Leon had been cleared. If it were him, he would have fixed both at the same time. His plan had completely failed; something didnโ€™t sit right with him. At that point, Nathaniel was more afraid of Phoebe than ever.

โ€œThis doesnโ€™t make sense,โ€ he muttered. โ€œThis method shouldnโ€™t fail. It has to be the culpritโ€™s doing. They only took it away from two people and left the others in pain.โ€

Regardless of whether it was actually his fault, he was going to pin it on Phoebe. Elliot, though, wasnโ€™t too bothered. His son was no longer in pain, and heโ€™d already suspected something was off with his adopted daughter, so he wasnโ€™t exactly concerned anymore.

He sighed. โ€œSo, what do we do now?โ€

Cain, however, was pissed at his sisterโ€”she was clearly letting Sienna suffer on purpose.

โ€œAlright, letโ€™s fix this,โ€ Cain said. โ€œEven if Leon isnโ€™t hurting anymore, he can still give some blood to help.โ€ He turned to Leon. โ€œCome on, you donโ€™t want to see Sienna in pain, right?โ€

Leon shot him a look like he was about to punch him. โ€œI swear, youโ€™re an idiot,โ€ Leon snapped. โ€œIt wonโ€™t work. Iโ€™m already cleared, so my blood is pointless now.โ€ He passed the buck, saying, โ€œWeโ€™ll have to get Mr. Solomon and Mr. Newton to figure it out.โ€

Back when he was in pain, he had to suck it up. But now that it didnโ€™t hurt anymore, there was no way he was giving blood for some useless attempt to fix it. When he got home, he was definitely going to lay into Cain. That guy wasnโ€™t just a bad teammate; he was a professional at being a pain in the ass.

Nathaniel clenched his jaw. โ€œEven though youโ€™re not in pain anymore, you were still attacked. If you want to fully recover, we still need your blood.โ€ He had wanted to use this chance to get Frankโ€™s blood, but the guy was too sharp. Not only did he dodge the trap, but he also dragged Leon along.

Leon immediately shook his head. โ€œWell, nothing I can do about that.โ€ Then, as if suddenly remembering something, he turned to Frank. โ€œDidnโ€™t you say you had to meet Reece!โ€

If they didnโ€™t leave now, they might not get another chance. Frank glanced at his watch, then grinned. โ€œOh, right! I almost forgot. Iโ€™m supposed to meet him soon. We should head out.โ€

Leon nodded quickly. โ€œYeah, weโ€™re gonna be late. Heโ€™ll definitely be annoyed.โ€

Elliot, surprised that Leon was actually thinking ahead for once, chuckled and waved them off. โ€œGo on, then. Donโ€™t keep Reece waiting.โ€

And just like that, the two horoscope masters, Sienna and Edith, could only watch helplessly as they slipped away.

Sanna clenched her fists. Leon really doesnโ€™t care about me. Damn it! And Frank, heโ€™s the worst. If he hadnโ€™t stirred things up, Leon wouldnโ€™t have left like that. Cain and Joshua were just as stunned. They hadnโ€™t expected Leon to just walk away, leaving Sienna behind like it was nothing. That was just messed up. They wanted to say something, but one sharp glare from Elliot shut them up. Not that it mattered. Leon was already gone. Inside, they cursed in frustration. โ€œThose bastards just ditched the girls! Leon and Frank are useless!โ€

Chapter 130

โ€œAllโ€ฆโ€ Sienna suddenly gasped, her face twisting in pain. Edith wasnโ€™t any better, clutching her face as she sobbed. โ€œIt hurts, it hurts so much!โ€

Cain quickly stepped forward, wrapping an arm around Sienna. โ€œSienna, are you okay!โ€ She instinctively leaned into him, her voice trembling. โ€œCain, my face hurts. Itโ€™s even worse than before.โ€

Cain gently touched her cheek, his expression full of concern. โ€œDonโ€™t cry, weโ€™ll figure something outโ€ฆโ€

Elliot, however, was furious. โ€œCain, let go of her! Do you two even realize how ridiculous you look right now?!โ€ The way they were acting like some lovesick couple was absolutely outrageous.

Sienna suddenly remembered Elliot was still there. Panic flashed across her face, and she quickly pulled away from Cain, hugging herself as she crouched down, sobbing. She looked completely pitiful, weak and helpless.

Joshua couldnโ€™t take it anymore. He turned to Elliot. โ€œDad, Sienna is in so much pain. We canโ€™t just ignore her, right?โ€

Elliot shot him a look. โ€œLeon and Frank are already gone. What do you expect me to do?โ€

Joshua clenched his jaw, frustrated. Those two really left us just like that, he silently cursed them before turning to Damon. โ€œSir, please, can you lend that thing to my sister? Weโ€™ll pay you for it.โ€

Damon was caught off guard. None of this was going the way he had expected; it was a complete mess.

โ€œUhโ€ฆโ€ He hesitated, glancing at Sienna, who was wincing from the pain. However, he had already said no. Changing his mind now would make him look suspicious.

Nathaniel immediately caught onto Damonโ€™s hesitation and cursed him in his head. If we give in, itโ€™ll prove we have something to hide.

Before Damon could say anything stupid, Nathaniel quickly stood up. โ€œIโ€™m really sorry. Itโ€™s our rule; we canโ€™t make exceptions.โ€

Damon snapped out of it and nodded. โ€œYeah, exactly. Apologies, but we canโ€™t lend it out.โ€

However, Elliot had already noticed his hesitation. If Nathaniel hadnโ€™t spoken up, Damon might have actually handed over the item, which only made Elliot more suspicious of their connection to it. He had already investigated Damon. Now, it was time to dig into Nathaniel too.

Meanwhile, Sienna was on the verge of losing it. โ€œThen what am I supposed to do! I canโ€™t take this anymore, it hurts so much!โ€ Phoebe definitely did this on purpose. I hate her! I wonโ€™t let her get away with this, she thought bitterly.

Nathanielโ€™s mood soured even further. His entire plan had fallen apart today. But as much as he hated it, he couldnโ€™t just stand by and let Sienna and Edith suffer like this.

He thought for a moment before saying, โ€œHonestly, any horoscope artifact should work for you two.โ€ He added, โ€œTry asking someone you know, especially if they collect antiques. If you can borrow one and wear it for ten days to two weeks, it should help.โ€

โ€œAnd if you manage to find one thatโ€™s packed with good energy, it might even work better than my juniorโ€™s bead, could ease the pain completely.โ€ Siennaโ€™s eyes lit up. โ€œMrs. Hill loves antiques. Iโ€™ll ask her.โ€

She knew these two werenโ€™t going to help. Internally, she cursed; whoever hired these so-called horoscope masters really found the worst ones. Not only did they fail to fix anything, but they somehow made the pain even worse. Now she had to go out of her way to borrow an artifact just to get some relief. Ridiculous. She grated her teeth. They couldnโ€™t even handle Phoebe, yet they called themselves experienced and powerful horoscope masters. Useless. Both of them were completely useless.
