Chapter 132

Bermuda huffed and let out a frustrated sigh. โ€œI swear, I donโ€™t get why Ophelia treats Sienna so well. Sheโ€™s way nicer to her than she is to Reece and, honestly, even better than how she treats Soren. Makes me wonder if she actually gave birth to her.โ€

Phoebe laughed. โ€œIf she did, she wouldnโ€™t be dumb enough to push Herce to be with her.โ€

She already knew Brenda had secretly done a paternity test. They were definitely Opheliaโ€™s kids, which meant Sienna.

Brenda frowned. โ€œWell, yeah, but still, something doesnโ€™t add up. What if Siennaโ€™s from Opheliaโ€™s side of the family?โ€

Ophelia had always treated her relatives better than her own childrenโ€”Brenda and Reece. She was constantly bending over backward for them.

โ€œWhy donโ€™t you check if Ophelia and Sienna are related?โ€ Brenda suggested.

Phoebe smirked. โ€œSire. Send me a picture of Ophelia, and Iโ€™ll take a look.โ€

Brenda nodded and pulled up an old family photo from her album. She also found a few pictures of Sienna from the other night. โ€œHere, take a look.โ€

Phoebe studied the photos carefully. In the family portrait, Ophelia wasnโ€™t wearing heavy makeup, so her facial features were clear. She glanced between Ophelia and Sienna, comparing them.

Ophelia treated Sienna stillโ€ฆ

โ€œTheyโ€™re not mother and daughter. No blood relation either,โ€ she said confidently. That didnโ€™t shock her, but the way Ophelia treated Sienna seemed way too personal.

Phoebe looked back at the family portrait, then suddenly, her eyes widened. โ€œWait a secondโ€ฆ I just realized something huge.โ€

Brenda leaned in: โ€œWhat is it?โ€

Phoebe looked at her with an unreadable expression. โ€œYour dad has been wearing invisible horns all this time.โ€

Brenda blinked. โ€œWearing what?โ€

Then it hit her. โ€œOh, waitโ€ฆ You mean Ophelia cheated on him!โ€

She hesitated for a second before asking. โ€œSoren isnโ€™t my dadโ€™s kid!โ€

She had secretly done a paternity test before, using her dadโ€™s hair along with hers. She was definitely his daughter, which meant the only question mark was Soren. That thought had never even crossed her mind before.

Phoebe nodded. โ€œYeah, from the looks of it. Soren isnโ€™t your dadโ€™s, but he is definitely Opheliaโ€™s.โ€

If something just clicked, she tapped on Siennaโ€™s photo, then switched back to the family picture and zoomed in on Sorenโ€™s face. She had a nagging feeling she had missed something before. And now, she finally found it.

Brenda noticed and leaned in. โ€œWhat are you saying? Soren and Sienna are related?โ€

Phoebe let out a sharp breath, quite surprised. โ€œLooks like it. They are definitely half-siblings.โ€

Brenda was impressed. โ€œOphelia really outdid herself. She married into the Hill family, had an affair, and managed to keep her secret.โ€

Chan Soren lined up to take over the company, right?

Brenda paused for a second before letting out a dry laugh. โ€œWow. Sheโ€™s good, Iโ€™ll give her that.โ€

Everything that never made sense before suddenly clicked into place. Ophelia never liked us but doted on Soren. If she hadnโ€™t accidentally gotten pregnant with us, she wouldnโ€™t have bothered giving birth at all. She kept us because an abortion would have harmed her body.

โ€œAnd no wonder she treats Sienna better than us. She even tried to set Reece up with her.โ€ Brenda scoffed. โ€œSiennaโ€™s not just some random girl; sheโ€™s equally wanted.โ€

Chapter 152

The realization left a sour taste in her mouth. Ophelia was disgusting.

Phoebe sighed at the new realization. Thatโ€™s why, in front of Lydia, she even played along to make Sienna look good. Guess this was one of those โ€œlove me, love my kidโ€ situations.

Just then, Brendaโ€™s phone rang. She glanced at the screen and hesitated. โ€œItโ€™s my dad.โ€

Phoebeโ€™s eyes narrowed. โ€œDonโ€™t bring this up over the phone. Itโ€™s too risky.โ€

Her tone was noticeably softer. For all his blind love for Ophelia, Finman had always looked out for her and Reece in his own way. When Ophelia forced her to stay with her, making her life miserable, it was Finnian who quietly sent money and care packages. And when he found out she was being mistreated, he gave her subtle hints, guiding her toward moving in with Reece instead.

Back then, she had been quick on her feet and called her grandfather right away. As expected, he came to pick her up, and with him there, Ophelia and her family didnโ€™t dare to stop him. Also thanks to her fatherโ€™s protection, she managed to hold onto the things her grandfather had left behind.

Despite everything, she still had some affection for her biological father. And now, more than ever, she actually felt sorry for him. A man who had clawed his way to the top of the Hill family and secured his place as the head of Hill Group, yet in the end, he was nothing but a hopeless romantic and a fool who got played. Poor guy.

Without thinking, she blurted out, โ€œDad, you doing okay?โ€

Finman hesitated. There was something weird in her tone, almost likeโ€ฆ sympathy. He frowned. โ€œIโ€™m fine. Why?โ€

Brenda brushed it off. โ€œDid she complain to you?โ€

Finnian sighed. โ€œYeah. Your mother filled me in on everything you said to her.โ€

Brenda let out a dry laugh. โ€œOf course, she did. Complaining is her specialty.โ€

She held back the rest of her thoughts, like how Ophelia also had a talent for wrapping men around her finger. Absolutely shameless.

Finnian sounded tired. โ€œI know how she is. But do you really have to go at it with her every time?โ€

Brenda scoffed. โ€œSheโ€™s the one who keeps pushing. I donโ€™t owe her anything, and I donโ€™t have to put up with it.โ€ Her voice sharpened as she added, โ€œAnd thereโ€™s no way Iโ€™m letting her get her hands on the horoscope magic tool. If I give it to her, I might as well say goodbye to it forever.โ€

She knew how Ophelia operated. The woman could promise anything you wanted, but at the end of the day, that thing would somehow end up in her possession. And now that Brenda knew the truth about everything, there was no way in hell she was letting that happen.

Finnian let out a tired chuckle. โ€œYou sure donโ€™t hold back, do you?โ€

Brenda rolled her eyes. โ€œJust calling it like I see it.โ€

Finnian sighed. โ€œWell, now what? She already told me I have to get that magic tool from you today, no matter what.โ€

Brenda didnโ€™t even hesitate. โ€œNo way. Iโ€™m not lending it to her.โ€

Finnian sighed. โ€œAt least think it over. Find a way to deal with her.โ€

Brenda said firmly, โ€œThereโ€™s nothing to think about. Sheโ€™s not getting anything from me.โ€

Finnian paused, then said, โ€œWhy donโ€™t you just tell her that yourself? I canโ€™t do anything about it.โ€

Brenda smirked. โ€œOh, donโ€™t worry. I will.โ€ Even if her dad hadnโ€™t called, she was already planning to handle Ophelia herself. Ophelia wasnโ€™t the only one who could play that game. Who knew how to complain better than Brenda?

Finnian let out a small chuckle. โ€œYouโ€™re impossible.โ€ Brenda had the call on speaker, so Phoebe caught every word. She didnโ€™t say anything, just typed something on her phone and passed it to Brenda.
