Chapter 141

The two of them happily finalized the plan. Once Ollie hung up the phone, he went to discuss things with a major shareholder. Joshua also had shares in the entertainment company, but he was considered a minor shareholder. The major shareholder felt that Joshua was indeed responsible for the task, so he took the initiative to approach him. Joshua eagerly agreed, taking it on himself.

Joshua had been wondering how to start a conversation with Phoebe when he went on the variety show, and now the opportunity had presented itself. Ollie and Leon both sighed when they found out, realizing that Joshua was indeed foolish. With Joshua being so clueless, they suddenly felt no sense of accomplishment.

The next day, Phoebe, with Quintus by her side, boarded the production team's car heading to the airport to begin the second season of the live variety show. Due to Jenkins Entertainment's previous investment, this time the show was scheduled in Darmechia. All the guests would fly there together after arriving at the airport.

Phoebe and Quintus were the first to arrive at the VIP lounge, followed by Lexie and James. The three exchanged greetings. Maddox entered with another guest. When he saw Phoebe, his eyes lit up. "Threbs, what a coincidence, we're both bringing a guest today!"

He was bringing along a third-tier actor from the company, Jimmy Schulle. Jimmy would soon have a drama airing, and he was here mainly to introduce himself to the public. Jimmy and Maddox had different agents. The spot had been secured by the company, and Maddox had been asked to help guide him.

Maddox looked up at Reece. “Reece, why are you looking at me like that?” he said teasingly. “I’m into girls, you know.” Phoebe couldn’t help but laugh out loud. With Maddox around, the atmosphere never got dull. The others had to stifle their laughter.

Reece’s face darkened. “You’re reading too much into it.” "Who the hell is looking at you? You’re still such an asshole," Reece thought to himself.

Maddox didn’t let it go. “Reece, why did you come alone today? Where’s Sienna?” Reece’s face grew even darker. “I have nothing to do with her. How would I know where she is? If you like her, go ask Sebastian for her phone number and call her yourself.”

Realizing he spoke this on purpose, Maddox chuckled. “Sorry, I don’t like fake women. My taste is a bit better than yours.” Reece gave Maddox a cold look. “Shut up, okay?” Maddox shrugged. “No.”

The tension between them was palpable, and Quintus and Jimmy were once again surprised. The direct confrontation between two big stars was truly intense. Just then, Jamar, Sienna, and Joshua entered.

Maddox looked at Reece. “Your teammate’s here.” If the uming had been right, Reece would have loved to punch Maddox. Reece said with deep meaning, “The rules for this round aren’t even set yet.” Reece wanted to be in the same group as Phoebe for this episode. When Sienna heard Reece’s words, she smiled on the outside, but felt uncomfortable inside.

Quintus, who was on Phoebe’s side, lowered his head, playing on his phone, pretending not to notice. Jimmy smiled but didn’t speak.

Jimmy could tell that Maddox didn’t like Sienna, so naturally, he wouldn’t be overly friendly with her. Sienna’s smile froze, and her face showed a hint of grievance. She felt upset, thinking these people were too much, all targeting her.

Jamar, on the other hand, knew where he stood. Realizing that he wasn’t welcomed, he dragged his suitcase to an empty seat and sat down. He took out his phone and made a video call to Leon, as instructed by Leon. Sienna sat next to Jamar.

The live broadcast would only start once they reached their destination, so although there were people from the production team, the cameras were not on yet. Joshua, however, had no such concerns. He walked up to Phoebe and said to Maddox, “I need to talk to Phoebe. Could you move?”

Maddox paused for a moment. Then his handsome face showed a look of disdain as he turned to Joshua. “Are you?”

Although Joshua and Maddox had never interacted, Joshua knew of this famous, arrogant top-tier star in the industry. He frowned and said, “I’m Joshua Jenkins, Phoebe’s brother.”

Maddox snorted and laughed, raising an eyebrow at Joshua. “You really think too highly of yourself.” He then turned to Phoebe and asked knowingly. “He’s your brother! I didn’t hear about that?”

Phoebe replied, “No. I don’t know him.” Maddox smiled brightly. “No wonder. He’s so ugly, and you’re so good-looking. How could he be your brother?” Phoebe gave him an appreciative smile. “You have good taste.”

Maddox proudly replied, “Of course. I’m famous for having great taste.” Joshua, ignored and mocked, felt his face darken. “Phoebe, how long has it been? You don’t even recognize me anymore?”

Joshua had always thought that Phoebe was just throwing a tantrum. “I’ve given her a chance to save dignity, so why is she still acting like this?” Joshua thought.

Phoebe looked up at him, confused. “Who are you! You really think too highly of yourself, coming here and randomly claiming family ties.” She rolled her eyes at him. “Please, stop trying to hitch a ride on my popularity.”

Joshua widened his eyes, clearly not expecting Phoebe to say such sarcastic and hurtful words in public. He laughed angrily. “Hitch a ride on your popularity! Do you think I need that?”

Joshua was a super popular, talented singer, one of the top stars in the music industry. “Phoebe says I’m trying to ride her coattails! What a joke,” he thought.

Phoebe raised an eyebrow. “Since you’re not trying to ride my coattails, then why are you getting so close! Do you want to show us how narcissistic you are?”

Joshua’s face turned dark in an instant. “You’re really…”

Phoebe, with obvious disdain, said, “Since you’re not trying to ride my popularity, then go away. Keep your distance.” Joshua was the most oblivious type. As soon as he came over with that arrogant attitude, Phoebe could tell he wanted to lecture her. “Hmph, who does he think he is?” Phoebe sneered inwardly.
