Chapter 164

Joshua took his seat. Maddox immediately turned to Jamar and Sienna. โ€œYou two can start drinking now,โ€ he said casually.

Jamar felt annoyed. Maddox just wouldnโ€™t let them off the hook. Taking a deep breath, Jamar relented. โ€œFine, we lost. Weโ€™ll drink.โ€ Three dunks werenโ€™t a big deal for him.

He reached for the small glasses on the table, ready to pour. But before he could, a waiter arrived with six large, colorful cocktails. The drinks looked strange.

Jamar frowned. โ€œThatโ€™s not necessary. Weโ€™ll drink the ones we ordered.โ€

Maddox grinned. โ€œBut these were specially made for you by the bartender. Theyโ€™re already here. How could you refuse? If you donโ€™t want these, then youโ€™ll have to pay for them yourselves.โ€

Jamar narrowed his eyes. He knew Maddox was waiting for this moment. โ€œHow much per glass?โ€

Maddox held up three fingers. โ€œThis much.โ€

Jamar guessed. โ€œSo 30 dollars? Thatโ€™s 180 dollars total! We can afford that.โ€

Maddox shook his head. โ€œYou wish. Itโ€™s 300 dollars per glass. I ordered them just for you. If you drink them all, Iโ€™ll cover the tab.โ€

Jamar nearly cursed. โ€œYou ordered them. Why should we pay?โ€

Maddox shrugged innocently. โ€œBecause I ordered them using your table number.โ€

Jamar choked. โ€œYouโ€™re really ridiculous.โ€

Maddox just smiled and gestured politely. โ€œGo on. Set an example for your little sister.โ€

Joshuaโ€™s face darkened. It felt like Maddox was mocking him on purpose. Just earlier, Joshua had tried to set an example for Quintus, only to fail miserably. His gaze turned cold as he stared at Maddox.

Maddox caught the look and smiled. โ€œJoshua, to need to look at me like that. Iโ€™m just following your words.โ€

Joshua found Maddox extremely annoying. He let out a cold laugh. Then he turned to Jamar and asked, โ€œWhatโ€™s this about losing a bet? Why are you even drinking!โ€

Jamar hesitated before explaining their earlier wager. The more he explained, the angrier Joshua became. He looked at Jamar in disbelief. โ€œYou bet just because he told you to bet?โ€ He barely stopped himself from calling them idiots outright.

Jamar, of course, caught the implication. Rolling his eyes, he retorted, โ€œWe believed in you.โ€ Who knew youโ€™ll be so useless? he added in his heart silently.

Joshua sighed in frustration. โ€œThen just drink.โ€

Jamar had no choice. Grabbing one of the cocktails, he downed it in one gulp. Then, his entire face scrunched up. โ€œWhat the hell is this?! It tastes awful!โ€

Maddox chuckled. โ€œItโ€™s a new experimental mix. Lucky you. You get to try it first.โ€

The livestream exploded with laughter. (Maddieโ€™s special cocktails, Jamar actually drank it!) Maddie is so serious when he talks nonsense. Heโ€™s too evil.

Chapter 164

Jamar thought it was 30 dollars per glass. Nope. It was 300 dollars total. (He doesnโ€™t know Maddie went to the bar earlier, pretended to go to the bathroom, and paid 30 dollars for random ingredients to mix this cocktail himself. Maddie even checked with the bartender to make sure it wouldnโ€™t upset their stomachs before making it. Heโ€™s evil, but responsible.) (At least Jamar wonโ€™t get food poisoning like when he ate his sisterโ€™s pancakes.)

Jamar shot Maddox a glare. โ€œI donโ€™t believe a word you say.โ€ But he had lost the bet. Even if the drink was disgusting, the alcohol content wasnโ€™t too high. Three glasses wouldnโ€™t get him drunk, and at least his stomach wouldnโ€™t suffer.

Grinting his teeth, he chugged the next two drinks. Then he flipped the empty glass upside down. โ€œDone,โ€ he declared.

Maddox applauded. โ€œJamar, youโ€™re a real one!โ€

Jamar replied, โ€œShut up.โ€ There was definitely something off about his tone.

Maddox finally turned to Sienna. โ€œYour turn, Sienna,โ€ he said sweetly.

Under normal circumstances, Sienna wouldโ€™ve been delighted to hear Maddox call her. But right now, his voice carried a hint of sarcasm. She glanced at the three strange-colored cocktails, her whole being rejecting the idea. So she simply didnโ€™t move.

Joshua was dumbfounded. โ€œWhy is Sienna drinking!โ€ He turned to Reece. โ€œIsnโ€™t it your turn!โ€ Making a girl drink was just bad manners.

Reece barely spared him a glance. โ€œI bet on Quintus winning. Why would I need to drink?โ€ He thought the two Jenkins brothers were dumb.

It was obvious this whole cocktail situation had Maddox written all over it, and yet Jamar actually drank them after hearing the โ€œ300 dollars per glassโ€ price tag. Reece couldnโ€™t help but wonder if all the Jenkins familyโ€™s intelligence had gone to Phoebe instead.

Joshua stared at him in disbelief. โ€œWeโ€™re on the same team!โ€ Reece had bet on his most hated rival. That was betrayal.

Reeceโ€™s expression remained cool. โ€œWe may be on the same team, but I donโ€™t feel like being an idiot drinking three glasses of that stuff. Problem?โ€

Joshua was even more annoyed. โ€œSo you thought Iโ€™d lose!โ€ He thought they were supposed to be on the same side.

Reece unfazed. โ€œHavenโ€™t you already lost! Otherwise, what do you think your brother was just drinking?โ€

Joshua was a bit mad at Reece. Joshatta muttered, โ€œSure, I technically lost. But Quintus hasnโ€™t proven he didnโ€™t hear the song beforehand.โ€

Reece gave him a pitying look. โ€œHow about you put three drinks on that bet, then?โ€

If Phoebe was confident enough to suggest a live demonstration, she had to be sure Quintus wouldnโ€™t lose. Besides, Reece wasnโ€™t clueless about music himself. Heโ€™d even released a song before. In every way, Quintus was simply better than Joshua. Joshua was way too confident.

Reece glanced at Phoebe, noticing she was watching them, too. Then he smirked and threw down a challenge. โ€œIf Quintus proves he has real talent, you drink. If he canโ€™t, he drinks three glasses as an apology.โ€

Chapter 161

Everyone was surprised Reece also wanted to set Joshua up. However, they were supposed to be allies. Things just got interesting.

Maddox wasted no time making things worse. โ€œThree drinks arenโ€™t enough. If Quintus has to apologize, he should drink five glasses. So naturally, you should drink five as well to keep it fair.โ€

Reece and Maddox kept going back and forth, leaving Joshua utterly stunned. He never agreed to five glasses. He forced a stiff smile. โ€œI think we can just skip this partโ€ฆโ€

But before he could wiggle out, Jamar suddenly clapped a hand on his shoulder. โ€œJoshua, I think itโ€™s necessary. If Quintus did cheat, then he should absolutely drink five glasses to make up for it.โ€ Jamar didnโ€™t care whether Joshua would lose or not. He just wanted them to share the pain and take the drinks. He also thought Joshua should take two more glasses.
