“Mu serious? Did you even listen to the recording!” Sienna’s sharp voice cut through the air.

Maddox gave him a look of disbelief. “Cain, are you innocent! She literally tried to take Mierlie’s spot on the show.”

Cain hesitated, scrambling for an excuse. “We were just trying to talk to Phoebe about it for her. She never actually asked for it herself.”

Maddox let out a sharp laugh. “Wow. So, your brain really is just full of air. You got played, and you’re still standing here acting like you’re in the right—”

Milion shook his head. “Maybe I’m just slow, but you call that talking? From what I heard, you guys weren’t discussing anything; you were straight-up forcing Phoebe to step aside for Sienna.”

The whole thing was infuriating. Phoebe, who had always been nothing but kind, had been treated like absolute garbage by these people. It was disgusting.

Lexie scoffed. “Cain, come on. We’re not deaf. We all heard the same recording, and we can all tell right from wrong.”

Andrea, who arrived later, became the center of attention. “Maybe my listening skills aren’t great either, but from what I heard, you guys weren’t just talking; you were pressuring Pheels nonstop.”

“In that recording, didn’t Sienna say herself that she didn’t want the spot anymore? And yet, you all kept pushing, telling Phoebe not to upset your parents. And now you’re acting like you had nothing to do with it? Please, it’s obvious.”

Cain let out a fake cough. “Oh, so we’re all just dumb, huh? Guess we don’t have the same deep understanding as—”

He usually didn’t bother getting involved, but today, he couldn’t hold back. Maddox was right; Cain really was an idiot. He was so desperate to defend Sienna that he wasn’t even thinking straight anymore.

Cain’s whole argument collapsed right there. It was absurd. They had already done this much damage, yet he still had the nerve to act like they were family and should just get along.
