Chapter 287

Andira was the only one in the group who knew how to play polo; Milton, James, and Jimmy had no clue, but that didnโ€™t stop them from getting hyped.

โ€œWell cheer you and they!โ€ said Raylan, grinning.

Raylan chuckled. โ€œWell, thatโ€™s perfect. Weโ€™ve got six players, so we can form a full team. If we win first place, the prize is worth about 10,000 alollars, based on the bankโ€™s exchange rate.โ€

โ€œSplit three ways, thatโ€™s roughly 3,000 dollars per group.โ€

Phoebe smirked. โ€œThen letโ€™s give it our best shot?โ€

Teaming up with Sienna and Cam wasnโ€™t ideal, but it was a good chance to gauge their skills. Besides, she couldnโ€™t shake the feeling that Raylan was steering things exactly where he wanted them to go. If she wanted to figure out his game, she had to play along.

Everyone placed their orders, and soon, the food arrived. They ate while swapping stories about what they had seen in the city that day. Phoebe shared a few fun things she had overheard from the girls while getting her makeup done. But she kept sneaking glances at Raylan. From the moment his tableware was placed in front of him, he hadnโ€™t said a word. His table manners were flawless, elegant, precise, almost aristocratic. It wasnโ€™t like the flashy, modern rich. He had the air of someone from an old-money family, the kind that valued tradition over trends. Even his post-meal habits were different.

He is! Feels more like the latter. It only made her more curious. Has he trained himself to be this way? Or is it just part of who he is?

Meanwhile, the live chat was going wild:

Raylan even makes eating look classy. Did he just go for a second plate?!

(His looks, his vibe, and the way he eats, itโ€™s all so mesmerizing.)

That white brocade robe looks straight out of a historical drama!

Now this is what they mean by an immortal aura. Sienna must feel so out of place!

*[Nam, sheโ€™s not just out of place. Sheโ€™s embarrassing herself!]

(I believe lira Phoebeโ€™s senior. Heโ€™s got the looks, the presence, everything.)

*[My new buliby just made his debut!]

*]Maddie, you better watch out!

Maddie, donโ€™t stress, youโ€™re still top-tier in my book!

Ugh. I wonโ€™t get to watch Raylan tonight. Take Phoebe and the others to the night market for a live stream!

*[Fin actually in the city right now! Iโ€™ll check it out and update you guys in the chat.]

Whoever you are. Iโ€™m counting on you. Go, go, gull!

Weโ€™re all relying on you!

With Cain and Sironaโ€™s fans out of the chat, the livestream comments were way more fun.

Once they were done, they headed off to find an inn. After dinner, the restaurant owner even gave them a discount. Since Raylan wasโ€ฆlural, he led them to a nice spot that had a great atmosphere but wasnโ€™t too pricey, just 60 dollars per room. Phoebe booked four. After splitting the meal bill, the other two teams had just enough cash left for everyone to get their own room. TrainTheer, though, ended uigesturinge. The night wouldnโ€™t start until 10 jum, and it was only 8. The inn had a lounge on the first floor, so they decided to hang out and grab someโ€ฆ

Chapter 287

Phoebe sat down first. Maddox squeezed in right away, blocking Jamar, who had been eyeing the seat next to her. Jamar had no choice but to take the spot on her left. Raylan, moving just as fast, slid into the seat on her right before Reece could. Jamar and Reece exchanged a look. These two jerksโ€ฆ

With no better options, they took the only open seats, right next to Raylan. They had zero interest in sitting next to Maddox. Before they could settle in, though, Sienna plopped down beside Raylan. Cain, as expected, sat next to her.

Now, Jantar and Reece really wanted to be anywhere else. Left with no choice, they gritted their teeth and took the empty spots next to Maddox. Maddox gave them a smug glance. Jamar rolled his eyes. โ€œShouldnโ€™t you be sitting with your own team?โ€

Maddox raised a brow. โ€œWhy do you care! I wanna sit next to Pheebs. You got a problem with that?โ€

Jamar scoffed. โ€œYeah, actually. We should be sitting with our own groups.โ€ He sat next to Phoebe; he could pick up a thing or two from Maddox, maybe pour her coffee or do something to get on her good side.

Maddox smirked. โ€œDoesnโ€™t matter what you think. Not like I care.โ€

Jamar clenched his jaw. This guy is unbearable. Before he could fire back, Phoebe cut in, backing Maddox, โ€œWeโ€™re just drinking coffee and chatting. Who cares where we sit?โ€ Then she added, completely unimpressed, โ€œBesides, I donโ€™t wanna sit with you.โ€

Jamar and Reece felt that one. But there wasnโ€™t much they could do about it. Cain duckded, โ€œServes you right.โ€ They had been trying to cozy up to Phoebe, but she wasnโ€™t even acknowledging themโ€ฆ

Januar was really starting to find Cain annoying. He shot him a look. โ€œYeah? Letโ€™s see if youโ€™re still grinning in two days.โ€ Something told him Cain was going to have a rough time soon. The guy had been glued to Sienna lately, and that never led anywhere good.

Cain sneered. โ€œOh, Iโ€™ll be just fine.โ€ Then he added, all smug, โ€œMeanwhile, you two can keep sucking up all you want. She still thinks youโ€™re pathetic.โ€ He was still bitter about that recording where Phoebe called his whole family Siennaโ€™s lackeys, but to him, Jamar and Reece were no different now.

Jamar and Reece didnโ€™t even bother denying it. They had no shame in playing the long game for Phoebeโ€™s favor. Cain, on the other hand, looked embarrassed just being near them.

Youโ€™re the one struggling, letโ€™s see whoโ€™s left to help you.

Jamar leaned back, smirking, โ€œTalk big while you can. When yโ€ฆโ€ With Cainโ€™s temper, Phorlar was bound to leave him hanging when he got into trouble. And when that happened, Jamar and Reece would be right there, watching the show. Now he was acting like he was better than them. They were just waiting for Cain to end up begging her.

Breve snorted. โ€œNot like heโ€™s even worth helping.โ€ He felt Cain was delusional. Then, Maddox took the chance to twist the knife. โ€œLike you guys are?โ€ None of them were exactly on Phoebeโ€™s level, and Maddox knew it.

Cain, surprisingly, agreed with him. He looked straight at Jamar and Reece. โ€œExactly. You act like youโ€™re any better?โ€

Jamar and Reece stared at him, dumbfounded. โ€œThis idiotโ€ฆ Maddox just roasted all of us, and heโ€™s over here agreeing like a damn fool.โ€
