Chapter 301
If Sienna and Cain wanted to stay, they had no choice but to endure the treatment. The sales assistant treated them with the same neutral attitude she would any other coworker. Leading them to the display area, she gestured toward the clothing racks. "These outfits are for the models to wear. Pick a few and try them on."
Siennaโs expression darkened. She looked at the assistant and asked, โWe have to pick them ourselves? What are you here for?โ Sienna thought this person was here to serve them.
The sales assistant was momentarily stunned. She hadnโt expected such a sharp tone. Does this girl really think Iโm some kind of servant?
Frowning, she replied, โWeโre all just employees here. Bringing you to pick out clothes doesnโt mean Iโm here to serve you. Besides, Iโm afraid you wonโt like what I pick. After all, you two have quite the reputation for being difficult on the reality show.โ
Sienna frowned in displeasure. โThe boss told you to bring us here. Helping us pick out clothes isnโt a big deal, is it?โ As a celebrity and a wealthy heiress, she naturally saw herself as superior to the sales assistant. In her mind, it was only right that the woman served them.
The sales assistant had dealt with countless customers before, but Siennaโs entitled attitude immediately put her off. She replied, โSave that attitude for when youโre actually paying customers. This isnโt the Jenkins family estate; you donโt get to act like spoiled prince and princess here. If youโre not happy with it, youโre free to leave anytime. We donโt exactly need you as models here, either.โ
When there were no customers in the shop, they would usually watch reality show livestreams with the boss. The ones they disliked the most were Sienna, who always pretended to be innocent, and Cain, the self-righteous do-gooder. Next in line were the other two brothers from the Jenkins family. These two werenโt customers, so she had no intention of serving them. They were all just employees, yet she acted like a rich heiress who needed a servant at her beck and call. She didnโt know what this delicate woman was even thinking. Her boss didnโt like them anyway, so she had nothing to worry about.
Sienna hadnโt expected even a store employee to have such a bad attitude. She was furious. โWeโre not familiar with the storeโs clothing, thatโs why we asked for your help. Otherwise, we wouldnโt need you at all.โ
The store assistant glanced at Sienna and said, โI doubt I can find anything that matches your aura. So, just pick whatever you like and wear whatever you want. Everything here is available anyway. Once youโve chosen, take it and change yourself. Then, go to the makeup artist, get your makeup done, and youโre ready to work. I have customers to attend to, so Iโll be leaving now.โ
After saying that, she turned and walked away, clearly unwilling to serve the two of them. Sienna couldnโt hold back and stomped her foot. โWhat kind of service attitude is this? This is just too much! If this attitude were anywhere else, she wouldโve been complained about long ago.โ
Another store employee, busy with cleaning, overheard the comment. She looked up and said, โPlease understand that weโre all just workers here. No one is above anyone else. What gives you the right to order others around? Youโve got hands, feet, and eyes; canโt you do it yourself?โ
They found Sienna hilarious for thinking she was a valued customer. If it were a difficult customer causing trouble, they would have tolerated it. However, dealing with this annoying, pretentious princess left them no patience to handle her with kind words, especially since she had an eerie way of stealing other peopleโs luck. If they got along too well, they were afraid she would suddenly try to steal their luck.
Sienna choked on her words. โYouโฆ youโre bullying me!โ
The sales assistant gave an innocent look. โWeโre just speaking the truth. How is that bullying you? Weโre not men, and weโre not your nice older brother who spoils you and lets you have your way with everything. Stop acting up and pick out your clothes. Get changed and go to work. Youโre getting a base salary of 100 dollars, so I hope you can live up to that price.โ
Sienna was extremely angry, but she truly didnโt know how to argue back. After all, they were indeed there to work. She took a deep breath and said, โFine, weโll choose ourselves. Who cares about your help?โ
The sales assistant smiled and said, โNow thatโs more like it.โ If she had this mindset from the start, there wouldnโt have been any need for argument. This was just how sheโd been raised, always accustomed to being on top. They certainly wouldnโt indulge her.
Sienna stopped speaking and pulled Cain to choose clothes. Cainโs expression was also unpleasant. He had never been treated with such disdain before. Now he had to swallow his frustration and endure it. It was so suffocating. He regretted joining this variety show even more now. It felt like nothing was going right, and everyone was out to annoy and target them.
Cain wanted to give up, but Sienna insisted on helping him pick a few outfits, urging him to try them on. She also picked out a few sets for herself. Soon, they would let their performance do the talking and slap those two female employees in the face.
After choosing, the two of them went to look for the makeup artist. The makeup artistโs attitude was cold, but she didnโt make things difficult for them. She still did their makeup and accessories according to the outfits they had chosen. After the two of them were done, they headed downstairs.
When they reached the downstairs, they saw Maddox and Lexie already there, asking the store attendant to explain the fabric and material details of the clothes. They were also asking a few more questions. The two of them didnโt follow and listen, as they didnโt want to crowd around that area and felt it wasnโt necessary. Since they werenโt really in the business, they didnโt need to ask so many questions.
Once Maddox and Lexie had gathered a general understanding, they officially began working. When a customer arrived, Maddox and Lexie took the initiative to approach them. They showed the customer the clothes they were wearing and even proactively recommended other outfits. Many customers were coming specifically because of the two of them. They all followed behind them, listening to the introduction, and then asked for clothes to try on.
Noticing the situation, Sienna said to Cain, โCain, letโs go attract some customers too.โ Cain nodded and said, โAlright.โ The two of them also went to greet the customers. Sienna specifically greeted the male customers, while Cain mainly catered to the female customers.
However, a stark contrast emerged between the two of them. Cain was lazy and relaxed; his recommendations to customers lacked enthusiasm, mainly because he himself didnโt understand the clothes and how to pair them. If someone said they didnโt like it, he would simply stop recommending it. Naturally, the customers flocked to Maddox, who was not only more handsome but also had a better attitude and offered thoughtful recommendations.
Cain, feeling frustrated, started to slack off, casually strolling around in the clothes without much care. After all, even if the clothes donโt sell, he still gets a base salary. Sienna, on the other hand, was very enthusiastic, introducing and recommending clothes to the male customers. She seized every opportunity, not letting go of a single customer, constantly encouraging them to try on clothes. Most of the male customers felt too shy to refuse. Then, they were dragged by Sienna, who forced them to try on several sets of clothes. In the end, some of them would select one set to purchase.
Maddox and Lexie would stop approaching customers if they noticed any reluctance, not wanting to push anyone into trying or buying something they werenโt interested in. However, the two of them had learned quite a bit from the staff earlier. So when customers asked questions, they were able to provide answers. For example, questions like, โIs this outfit breathable?โ or โWill it be too hot to wear?โ They looked good, had a great attitude, and never came across as overly persistent or annoying, so customers were genuinely happy to make a purchase.
The viewers watching the livestream were also developing a better and better impression of Maddox and Lexie. Especially Maddox; everyone felt that his performance had exceeded their expectations. It also made everyone feel that he had become more down-to-earth. He was no longer the high and mighty top star, and more people liked him. As for Sienna and Cain, they only made people more annoyed. The two of them came to work, clearly also employees, yet they acted as if they expected to be waited on and put on airs. They didnโt even take the time to learn or understand from the staff. Cain would just tell others to ask the other staff members when he didnโt know something. Sienna, on the other hand, would mislead customers and use what she believed was her charm to relentlessly pressure them. This was also the situation that many customers disliked encountering when they entered the store. Moreover, everyone noticed that Sienna specifically targeted male customers. Lexie and Maddox didnโt specifically target certain customers. Instead, they approached anyone they came across to greet and assist.
As a result, Sienna ended up getting scolded again. In the store, Sienna had just sent off a male customer who had purchased clothes. She heard someone call out, โSienna!โ Sienna turned around, her face first showing surprise, then quickly pulling a smile, โYou?โ
It was a young man who looked quite good-looking. He walked over with a big smile, โWhat are you doing here selling clothes?โ He thought, Isnโt Sienna supposed to be a rich young lady? Has she fallen so low to this point? This person had been traveling around recently and didnโt really follow live-streams or variety shows, so he didnโt know.
Sienna smiled and said, โIโm on the latest variety show, working part-time to earn my food and accommodation money.โ She then asked, โAre you here to buy clothes too? Let me pick out a couple of outfits for you.โ
The manโs gaze lingered on Sienna with a somewhat sticky, flirtatious look. He said, โSure, I trust your taste.โ
