Listen to this chapter:

Phoebeโ€™s eyes gleamed with curiosity as she studied Raylan. โ€œWhy are you so sure? Did someone tell you?โ€

Raylan chuckled lightly. โ€œNo one told me. Thereโ€™s no one in this world who can control me.โ€

Phoebe, recognizing the power in his words, knew he wouldnโ€™t be lying about something like that. She asked, โ€œDid you, perhaps, use divination?โ€

Kaylan glanced at her with a smile. โ€œYouโ€™re quick on the uptake. Yes, I did use divination. I found that the chance to leave this prison lies with you.โ€

For years, he had performed the divination every year, but all his attempts had failed. It wasnโ€™t until recently that someone approached him, saying they had discovered a horoscope master who might hold the answers.

Initially, Raylan had no interest, but a casual divination revealed that his fortune was tied to this person.

To his surprise, Phoebe was beyond his reach. He couldnโ€™t see her facial features, couldnโ€™t predict her futureโ€”something he had never encountered before.

Phoebe, a bit taken aback, thought back to when she assumed Raylan had been sent by the person behind Sienna. But it seemed clear he wasnโ€™t concerned with them at all.

โ€œSo, do you know how I can help you?โ€ she asked.

Now, hearing him speak, Raylan, who had shown no ill intentions, seemed trustworthy. Given that Percival had trusted him too, she didnโ€™t mind offering what assistance she could. We can only get a vague sense of it.

Raylan sighed, shaking his head. โ€œI donโ€™t know. People like us, when it comes to matters that are critical, canโ€™t predict the specifics.โ€

After the divination, Raylan had tried again, only to fail and even suffer a backlash.

Phoebe furrowed her brow. โ€œIf you donโ€™t know, that makes things difficult.โ€

Raylan smiled indifferently. โ€œEverything will unfold in due time. Iโ€™ve waited for so long, Iโ€™m not in a rush.โ€ He glanced at Phoebeโ€™s neck, adding, โ€œPerhaps, when you uncover the secret of the emerald clasp, that could help me.โ€

Phoebe had been careful to conceal the emerald clasp, using an aura-concealing charm. Yet Raylan had still sensed it. He was impressive; she thought he might even be nearing the Ascendance Realm.

She asked him directly, โ€œDo you know the origin of this emerald clasp?โ€

Raylan replied, โ€œI only know that itโ€™s an ancient relic passed down from Percivalโ€™s ancestors.โ€

Phoebe, experienced as she was, immediately understood. โ€œA medium artifact? Can it be used as a key?โ€

Raylan raised his eyebrows, clearly surprised. โ€œYou figured that out so quickly.โ€

The more he interacted with Phoebe, the more intrigued he became. โ€œNot just as a key. Iโ€™ve heard it also holds a map. A map to a place with an opportunity so alluring that even the Caelum Peritum would covet it.โ€

Caelum Peritum were those who had reached the Ascendance Realm. Raylan shrugged. โ€œWhatโ€™s on the map, I donโ€™t know.โ€

Phoebe, however, was as aware of the mapโ€™s existence. It was one of the clues left by Percival. But Percival himself had no idea how to activate it.

She smiled and asked, โ€œHow old are you, if you donโ€™t mind me asking?โ€

Haylan chuckled, amused. โ€œYouโ€™re interested in that! Alright, Iโ€™m twenty-six.โ€

Phoebe rolled her eyes. โ€œYou expect me to believe that? Youโ€™re probably much older than that.โ€

Kaylan couldnโ€™t help but laugh. โ€œWhatโ€™s the point of lying? Go ahead, take a look for yourself.โ€

Thule glanced at his hand, and as he drew it closer, she saw that the aura he had previously concealed had now dissipated. His features, once unreadable, were now clear to her. She studied the lines on his palm, particularly his lifelineโ€”it stopped at twenty-six, but in an unusual way, as though it simply vanished.

She said, โ€œSo it really is twenty-six.โ€

Raylan pulled his hand back, grinning. โ€œI told you! I wasnโ€™t lying!โ€

Chapter 351

Phoebe looked at him, noting his youthful appearance, but there was something deeper in his eyes, a wisdom beyond his years. โ€œYouโ€™re quite just any ordinary person, are you? Could you be the legendary โ€˜immortal typeโ€™?โ€

Her experiences with small worlds had given her insight into such rare conditions. Imentals were often the result of physical mutations, halting aging forever unless they were killed by external forces. They were the stuff of legend.

Raylanโ€™s face flickered a subtle change. His eyes narrowed. โ€œHow did you know?โ€

Phoebe shrugged. โ€œI came across it inโ€ฆ a book.โ€

Raylanโ€™s eyes burned with intensity as he looked at her. She could feel the heat in his gaze.

She gave a playful shrug. โ€œThat book is gone now, so I canโ€™t show it to you.โ€

Raylanโ€™s gaze softened slightly. โ€œWhat a pity.โ€ But he quickly realized that perhaps that bookโ€”whatever it wasโ€”was the very reason Phoebe was different. It might have been the catalyst for her abilities.

Phoebe paused and asked, โ€œDoes your immortality have something to do with this city?โ€

Haylanโ€™s eyes widened in surprise. โ€œYou figured that out too?โ€

He had underestimated her once again. He self-deprecatingly said, โ€œYes, but even with immortality, what good is it if I canโ€™t escape this prison?โ€

Fortune and misfortune were two sides of the same coin, and Raylanโ€™s current situation was the perfect example.
