Chapter 153: My Needle, My Rules

โ€œYouโ€ฆ Yunice couldnโ€™t really do anything to him.โ€

Wyatt scoffed. โ€œStill not over Paul, huh?โ€

Yunice rolled over and sat up. โ€œWho said Iโ€™m not over him!โ€

Wyatt rested his head on his arm, his tone light and lazy. โ€œYouโ€™re staying pure for him while heโ€™s out there having a great time.โ€

Yunice didnโ€™t respond, so Wyatt added, โ€œI never said this marriage was fake.โ€

Yunice said, โ€œThat day, I saw you picking someone up at the Silk House.โ€

As soon as the words left her mouth, she saw Wyattโ€™s face darken. โ€œSo what?โ€

She didnโ€™t hold back. โ€œIs she someone important to you?โ€

โ€œNo.โ€ His reply came even faster than her questionโ€”firm, even laced with a kind of cold hatred.

โ€œAre you actually single?โ€ Yunice pressed on.

Wyatt looked annoyed now. He sat up, grabbed the collar of her shirt, and yanked her close. โ€œIโ€™m a virgin. Got it!โ€

Their faces were barely an inch apart. Yunice stared into his eyes and stayed quiet. She understoodโ€”sheโ€™d known from the first time she saw him.

But that didnโ€™t mean anything. Yunice said, โ€œA womanโ€™s purity has never been about whatโ€™s under her skirt. Iโ€™ve never minded fulfilling a need, but if the price of pleasure is hurting another woman, Iโ€™m not doing it.โ€

There were plenty of men in the world. She had no desire to steal someone elseโ€™sโ€”she didnโ€™t even have the pride for that.

โ€œIโ€™ll say it againโ€”there is no other woman.โ€ As soon as he finished, Wyatt rolled over and pinned Yunice beneath him.

The tables turnedโ€”Wyatt on top, Yunice underneath. She could feel how unstable his emotions were, but she didnโ€™t know what was behind it.

His breathing was heavier now. He didnโ€™t go any further; he just stayed there, holding her down.

He stared at her for a long while before finally muttering, โ€œIโ€™ll waitโ€ฆ until after the wedding.โ€

Wyatt climbed off her and lay down on his side.

Yunice didnโ€™t get it. Why is he so set on sleeping with me? Couldnโ€™t he just spend some money on a willing woman in need?

โ€œMmph!โ€ Yunice let out a muffled grunt as Wyatt pulled her back into his arms.

She frowned but didnโ€™t fight it this time. She was twenty-one; Wyatt was five years older. They were both at the peak of their physical needs.

And neither of them knew how long this marriage would lastโ€”at some point, taking care of each otherโ€™s needs might be part of the arrangement.

Maybe it was the stress, but Yunice ended up dreaming about men all night. Before dawn, she felt something sticky between her legs.

He came back a short while later with a pack of sanitary pads. Eliannaโ€™s voice was locked out on the other side of the door.

Yunice reached out and took them, glancing down to see heโ€™d gotten the exact brand she wanted. She held her clothes behind her and hurried into the bathroom.

A few minutes later, Wyattโ€™s voice came from outside the door. โ€œJust leave your dirty clothes thereโ€”someone will come get them.โ€

Yunice looked down at her bloodstained pajama pants. Sheโ€™d wanted to wash them herself. But this was Wyattโ€™s bathroom; he might be averse to the blood.

So she folded the pants neatly and dropped them into the trash. When she came out, she was fully dressed.

Wyatt was still in her roomโ€”no, his room.

Yunice asked, โ€œWhat did Elianna say just now?โ€

โ€œShe said breakfastโ€™s ready.โ€

When they stepped out, Elianna was indeed at the dining table, arranging plates. Without even glancing at her, Wyatt said, โ€œYou can eat by yourself. Weโ€™re going to the Powell family mansion first.โ€

Elianna blinked. โ€œHuh?โ€

Sheโ€™d gotten up at the crack of dawn to make breakfast.

Wyatt took Yuniceโ€™s hand and led her out of Pavilion Hall and into the car.

Yunice found his attitude toward Elianna odd. Normally, if he didnโ€™t want to deal with someone, heโ€™d have no problem getting rid of them entirely.

But with Elianna, there was impatience, sureโ€”but also tolerance.

โ€œHow did Elianna end up getting adopted by the Powell family?โ€

Wyatt glanced over at her. She was getting bolderโ€”asking anything she wanted now.

โ€œTwo years ago, an accident occurred at the Westvale steel plant. Two people died.โ€

Two years ago, Yunice had been in the psych ward; no wonder she hadnโ€™t heard about something so minor.

โ€œOne of the dead was Eliannaโ€™s father,โ€ Wyatt said. โ€œHe was hit by molten steel trying to stop the accident. There wasnโ€™t even a scrap of bone left. To appease the Fiona family, Grandpa adopted Elianna.โ€

โ€œThat steel plant belongs to me. If it werenโ€™t for Eliannaโ€™s father, hundreds couldโ€™ve died that day!โ€

Yunice froze. Suddenly, she understood why Wyatt tolerated Elianna the way he did.
