Celine pondered the nature of Nikki and Adam's relationship. A knock came at the door.

"Who is it?" Celine asked. Opening the door, she saw a tall, handsome figure: Adam. Curious as to why he was at the women's dormitory, she started to close the door, but Adam stopped it with his hand. He stood tall, his gaze downcast.

"Celine, I need to talk to you," he said.

"Well, I don't want to," she replied.

"You have to!" Adam aggressively pushed open the door and entered.

"Celine, Mr. Alvarez, feel free to chat. We're stepping out," Halley interjected hastily, trying to give them privacy. Robin, however, refused.

"I don't want to—" Hailey swiftly covered Robin's mouth, cutting her off, and pulled her away. As they left, Hailey added, "We won't be returning tonight," before closing the door thoughtfully.

Alone, Adam stepped closer, casting a shadow over Celine. "Nothing happened between Nikki and me. I didn't sleep with her."

Celine's eyes flickered as she met his gaze. "Do you really think I would believe that?"

Nikki had a boyfriend, but that didn't mean she hadn't slept with Adam. "If I slept with her, I'd admit it," Adam said, standing in the light. "Why wouldn't I acknowledge sleeping with a woman?"

Celine was speechless, yet she believed he wouldn't lie about having slept with Nikki.

"Then Nikki and you" she began.

"She took your place," Adam finished.

Confused, Celine stared at him.

Adam gazed at her, his voice low, magnetic, and captivating. "Celine, after you left that day, Nikki came in. She was the first person I saw when I opened my eyes, lying beside me. She claimed it was her that night."

Stunned, Celine remembered Nikki's earlier call, urging her to leave for an emergency. Nikki had impersonated her. It was a cunning scheme; they were like the farmer and the snake. Nikki had long been interested in Adam.

Adam stepped closer, whispering, "I poured so much into Nikki's career, helped her become a renowned celebrity becauseI mistook her for you."

Their closeness intensified; his breath brushed her face, making her heart race. He had confused Nikki for her.

Celine averted her gaze, replying icily, "I see. You may leave now."

Adam smiled. "Are you really going to let me leave like this?"
