Listen to this chapter:

Hailey wasn't putting on an act. She laid her cards on the table, revealing her identity as Allie. Carly's brain was fried; she couldn't think clearly. She couldn't believe Hailey was Allie. Carly and Melody had searched Yorhine University high and low for Allie. Now, the person they desperately wanted to connect with

Carly refused to believe it, thinking the heavens were playing a joke. Even Melody was rooted to the spot.

Hailey laughed. "Carly, Adam says you really want to be my friend. So why aren't you talking now? Weren't you rather talkative earlier?"

Hailey sat on the couch with Linda; bodyguards stood behind her with reverence. Meanwhile, Hailey watched a pathetic-looking Carly.

Carly was stumped. She couldn't help but recall her earlier insults toward Hailey, before discovering her true identity.

Melody stuttered, "H-Hailey, youโ€”"

However, Hailey shot Melody a look. "Don't interrupt. I wasn't talking to you."

Melody immediately fell silent.

Linda scoffed. "Melody, your father is only from the lesser branch of the Alvarez family. Mr. Alvarez helped him only because he begged him two years ago. You were smart enough to suck up to Mrs. Alvarez Senior. That's how you got where you are today. Hmph. You got here through pure luck. You have no right to interrupt Ms. Hailey."

Linda's words exposed Melody's unimpressive background, leaving her pale.

Turning to Carly, Hailey said, "Oh, right. You gave me a limited-edition bag yesterday."

Linda handed the bag to Hailey, who fiddled with it. "The bag is quite pretty, but I don't like it." With a thud, she threw the bag into the bin. Carly froze in shock.

Hailey continued to stare at Carly. "I know Adam likes you and wants to marry you, but that has nothing to do with me. I only have one sister-in-law, Celine. You will never replace her. You'll never find an easy way out through me."

Carly's face was as pale as a sheet. Hailey had rejected her and objected to her joining the Lamberts. There was no way Carly could marry Adam now that Mary and the Lamberts disliked her. Even worse, Hailey favored Celine as her sister-in-law.

Finally, Carly lowered her ego. "A-Allie, surely there's a misunderstanding. Celine must have badmouthed me. I can explainโ€”"

Hailey curled her lips. "Carly, do you know why I asked you to come here today?"

Carly shook her head.

"Adam says you want to win my favor. So I wanted to see what you look like sucking up to someone. I've got to say, it's really interesting." Hailey clapped. Humiliated, Carly clenched her fist so tightly her fingers dug into her palm. Hailey had trampled on everything Carly was proud of.

"Get these two out of the house," Linda ordered.

The bodyguards marched forward and grabbed Carly and Melody.

"Let go of me! Hailey, I'm the one Adam cares for most. You wouldn't dare hurt me!" Carly finally used Adam's name. However, Hailey rose, unfazed.

"Carly, let's be clear. This is my house, not the Alvarez's. Throw them out now."

"Got it, Ms. Hailey," the guards responded. Before Carly and Melody could react, they were thrown out, and the door slammed shut behind them.
