Chapter 276

Hailey laughed heartily. “That’s right. I’m so envious of how you get to hang out with Allie.”

After laughing, Melody said, “Carly, let’s not waste any more time on Hailey. Let’s go in and meet Allie.”

Carly agreed, “All right. Let’s go while she stews in her envy.” The two entered the house.

Linda chuckled as she watched them go. “Ms. Hailey, they still don’t know your identity.”

Hailey raised an eyebrow. “Patience. I’ll give them a good welcome.”

Soon, Carly and Melody arrived in the living room. Carly felt as if she were dreaming—she had finally stepped into the Lambert residence, one step closer to her goal.

A housekeeper approached. “Ladies, please have a seat. Ms. Lambert is getting changed and will be here soon.”

“All right. Thank you.” They sat and waited for “Allie.”

Carly, confident in her social skills, practiced her lines in her mind to impress “Allie,” determined to make her a strong ally. The housekeeper announced, “Ms. Lambert is coming down.”

Carly and Melody stood, excited, then gasped and froze. Hailey, in a dress, was descending the stairs, her beautiful eyes fixed on them.

Shocked, they exclaimed, “Hailey? It’s you?”

Hailey approached, fluttering her eyelashes. “Yes. It’s me.”

Carly stammered, “We’re waiting for Allie. Why are you…” Her voice trailed off. Hailey’s appearance revealed her true identity: she was Allie.

Melody was incredulous. “Hailey, are you… Allie?”

Carly and Melody’s pupils constricted. Never in their wildest dreams had they imagined Hailey to be Allie—the unimpressive woman who frequented Celine's company was the daughter of the Lamberts. Carly began, “Hailey, this is all an act, isn’t it? How dare you, a hideous woman…”

Before she could finish, Linda yelled, “How dare you?”

A team of black bodyguards rushed in, surrounding Carly and Melody. Hailey walked past them and sat on the couch.

Linda berated them. “How dare you insult Ms. Hailey? Another word, and these men will throw you out.”

Carly and Melody looked at Hailey, who gracefully sipped tea provided by the housekeeper. She then said, “Weren’t you two looking for Allie? Congratulations. You found her. I am Allie.”
