Celine and Benjamin waited for Adam while his subordinates had already secured the village for a safe exit. However, Adam never arrived, and his whereabouts were unknown.
โWhy is Adam not here yet?โ
Just then, his strikingly handsome, tall silhouette appeared.
โAdam, what have you been up to?โ Benjamin asked curiously.
Adam remained silent, wiping his hands with a tissue. Celine, however, noticed blood staining his fingers.
At that moment, Leo approached. โMr. Alvarez, we can leave now.โ
Adam nodded, and the group boarded the yacht and departed.
Suddenly, Celine heard crying. She turned to see Cassidy rushing toward them, tears streaming down her face, distressed on the shore.
โMr. Alvarez, did you break her heart? I believe she truly loves you.โ
Adam shot Celine a frosty glare and declared, โIf thatโs the case, Iโll offer her โtrue loveโ to you instead. Are you interested?โ
Celine was speechless.
The group returned to Marland, where Randall and their classmates were waiting. Randall looked at Celine. โAre you okay? You suddenly disappeared, leaving us terrified.โ
Celine shook her head. โDonโt worry. Iโm fine.โ
โCeline, what exactly happened? Why did you suddenly disappear?โ
Before Celine could answer, a graceful figure dashed forward and flung herself into Adamโs embrace. โAdam, youโre finally back. I was so worried about you.โ
It was Carly. She clung to Adam.
Celine met Carlyโs unwavering gaze as she nestled confidently in Adamโs arms. Deep down, Celine suspected Carly had urged Benjamin to harm her. However, there was no concrete evidence. Moreover, since Benjamin was involved, clarification was difficult. That was why Carly was so bold. Celine stalled. โIโm tired, everyone. Letโs go back.โ
โAlright, letโs rest. Weโll fly back to Mercity this evening.โ
Randall turned to Adam. โWeโll leave first, Adam.โ
Carly hugged Adam tightly; despite his attempts to push her away, she held on even more firmly.
โAdam and Ms. Tate are so deeply in love.โ
Adam gazed at Celine, whose expression was icy and devoid of emotion. She didnโt glance at him or Carly. โLetโs go.โ
She left with Randall and the others. Held tightly by Carly, Adam could only watch Celine leave.
Carly was furious. She couldnโt believe Celine had survived.
โCarly, we should leave too,โ Adam steered her aside before climbing into the car.
Carly noticed Benjamin standing behind Iser and quickly approached him. Feigning concern, she asked, โBenjamin, are you alright? Is your leg hurt?โ
Benjamin stared at her. โCarly, why were there explosives on the yacht?โ
Carly had a ready excuse. โBenjamin, the explosives on the yacht were meant for Celine, and the countdown was already underway. I expected you to lack in theโฆ but you didnโt make it. You and Celine were caught in the blast and plunged into the sea. Do you have any idea how arduous this was for me? I even urged Adam to hurry and search for you.โ
