Chapter 359

Adam frowned. "Who gifted them to you?"

Celine was amused. "My boyfriend."

Adam's charming features hardened abruptly, recalling Celine's earlier revelation about having a boyfriend. Now, that same boyfriend had reappeared.

"That rich boyfriend you mentioned?"

"Yeah, that's him."

Adam sneered. "Your boyfriend must be a big shot to buy you a luxury car and a nice house. Mercity is small; I can hardly imagine who he is."

She smiled. "Mr. Alvarez, it's your problem if you can't figure out who my boyfriend is. I'm leaving now."

Celine started to leave, but Adam held her back. "Celine, you need to consider finding a job. With your education, you should value yourself and work on enhancing your worth instead of pretending to be with a wealthy boyfriend."

He doubted she had a handsome, wealthy boyfriend.

Celine didn't explain further, shoving Adam aside. "Mr. Alvarez, my personal matters are none of your concern." She then entered the house. Adam watched her door close, visibly upset. He sensed she was hiding something, and that feeling made him uncomfortable.

The following day, Celine and Perry arrived at the mall. With a warm smile, Perry said, "Celine, go ahead and choose some clothes. It's my treat."

"You're so generous, Perry. Thank you," Celine replied.

Celine began selecting clothes when Perry's phone rang. He glanced at it and said, "Celine, I need to step out to take this call."

Perry left to answer the phone while Celine browsed. An enthusiastic salesperson followed her closely. "You're so graceful, Madam. This lace dress is perfect for you."

Celine was about to try it on when a familiar voice interrupted. "Celine, why is it you again?"

Celine turned and saw Sonia, Carly, Tracy, and Lucy approaching. Carly, seemingly over the anger of being kicked out the previous night, felt uplifted. She and Tracy flanked Sonia. Sonia and Lucy engaged in lively conversation, their smiles mocking.

"Celine, why are you here? Are you here to buy clothes?" Carly asked.

Celine nodded. "Yeah, I'm here to shop."

Tracy grinned. "We have some great news, Celine. Are you ready to hear it?"

Before Celine could respond, Sonia beamed. "Celine, do you recall our investment in Dr. C's company? Our initial funds have multiplied tenfold! We're now wealthy!"

She continued, "Celine, you called Dr. C a scatterbrain when we invested. I think you're just jealous."
