Chapter 388

Sonia grabbed Tracy. "Tracy, what's all this? Where's Dr. C? Where did he go? Where did he take our money?"

Tracy's expression was defeated, devoid of her usual pride. "Grandina, I was duped. That man isn't Dr. C at all. His name is Cohen Schaefer, and he's a scammer. He's run off with all our money."

Carly and Lacy's faces turned ashen. They grabbed Tracy. "Tracy, how could you be duped? Do you know how much money we've invested? Now our companies are mortgaged! It's your fault we're ruined! We're all going broke!"

Hayden said agitatedly, "Tracy, think of something! We were all duped!"

Wayne and Hazel were on the verge of tears. "He took our money too. We're just as worried as you are."

Sonia grew frantic, slapping her thigh. "We're finished! We're all finished! What are we going to do?!"

The court workers said, "Please leave and refrain from interfering with our work."

Sonia argued, "I won't leave! This is my home; I've lived here for decades! This is the Tates' home!"

A minute later, two workers ejected Sonia. The rest of her family were also forcibly removed.

Carly yelled angrily, "Don't touch me! I can walk myself! Let go!" She shook off the workers. When they released her, she fell hard, landing on her bottom. Everyone was speechless. Sonia sat on the ground, bemoaning loudly, "What are we to do? What are we to do? What did we do wrong to deserve this?" Silence followed. Yesterday they celebrated victory; today, they were in ruins.

They had lost everythingโ€”their money and their home. How could this happen?

"Tracy, what should we do? We were duped by that fake Dr. C. We should be able to get our money back. Think of something!" Carly urged.

Tracy's thoughts were jumbled. "All of Dr. C's information is false. I can't track him down. How can we get the money back?"

Lucy looked at Carly. "Carly, we have no choice. Call Mr. Alvarez and ask him to help."

Sonia immediately stood, looking at Carly hopefully. "Carly, call Mr. Alvarez. He'll have a way out of this." Carly, accustomed to a life of wealth, didn't want to become poor. She immediately called Adam.

The call connected after two rings. Carly held the phone tightly. "Adam, bad news. My family's in trouble!" Adam's grave voice was clear. "What is it?"

"Adam, remember Dr. C? He's a fake. We invested all our money in him. The court and the bank seized our companies and manor. We have nothing left, and we need your help to find him and get our money back."

Adam was silent for a few seconds. "I told you Dr. C looked like trouble. Now you're in trouble. I've always had trouble contacting him, so talking to me is useless. The longer you wait, the harder it will be to recover your money. You should contact the right person."

Carly asked, "The right person? Who?"
