Listen to this chapter:

She had already seen the photo Perry had sent. This was probably the worst day of the Tate family's lives, their absolute lowest point. They had used her father's sacrifice to achieve great success, but now they had fallen hard.

“Celine,” he said, “I told them you’re the only one who can save them, and asked them to beg you for help. Do you think they’ll come?”

Celine smiled confidently. “They will.”

She knew the Tate family well. When it came to money, they would humble themselves and beg. The thought of it would torture them.

“Celine, if they beg you, what will you do?”

Celine inserted the red rose into a vase. “I’ve been waiting for them to approach me for a long time.”

After an hour, the Tate family arrived at Jupiter Heights. Sonia exclaimed in disbelief, “Does Celine live here?”

Carly, Tracy, and Lucy hadn’t told Sonia that Celine now lived in a luxurious house and drove an expensive car. Truth be told, none of them were happy about begging Celine, but they had no choice.

Carly nodded. “Yes, Celine lives here.”

Sonia threw a tantrum. “We’re living on the streets, and Celine’s living like this! Why?”

Lucy said disdainfully, “Mom, Celine’s using men to get ahead. Didn’t you see her with Mr. Marshall? He’s practically worshipping her; he must have bought this place for her.”

Tracy said, “Grandma, do you think Celine could buy a place like this herself? Don’t envy her.”

Sonia’s unhappiness subsided. “Let’s stop talking about this. We should plan what to say to Celine.”

Carly and Tracy didn’t understand why James and Perry had sent them to Celine.

Shortly after, they reached Celine’s door. Carly rang the doorbell. Nobody answered. She rang again. Slowly, the door opened, revealing Celine.

Celine’s gaze fell on them. “Why are you here?”

Sonia smiled ingratiatingly. “Celine, something happened at home, did you know?”

“Home? What home? I recall you cut ties with me, so I have no home.” Celine smiled.

Sonia’s expression darkened. “You!”

Carly said, “Celine, how can you say that? Your surname is still Tate. Now that Tracy’s been scammed by that fake Dr. C, you should help us.”

Tracy said, “That’s right, Celine. You shouldn’t be so heartless. What benefit is there for you if the Tate family falls? If you’re going to watch us become a joke, you don’t deserve to call yourself human!”

Celine looked at Carly. “Are you finished speaking?”

Before Carly could answer, Celine started to close the door.

“Celine!” Carly blocked the door. “Celine, why are you closing the door?”

Celine smiled. “Carly, what are you doing here? Are you here to lecture me on humanity? If I’m right, you’re here to beg me for help.”

Celine scanned the Tate family’s faces, a half-smile on her lips. “Do I need to teach you how to beg properly? If you can’t, then this discussion is over.”
