Adam had met Dr. C before, but he couldn't recall when. He shot Celine a penetrating glance; he always felt she was hiding something. Now, her clear eyes twinkled brightly, and even Adam felt a tingle.

At that moment, Sonia and Lucy appeared. Sonia called, "Celine."

Celine turned. "Mrs. Tate Senior, do you need something?"

Sonia asked, "Celine, have you brought your father's ashes home and found a place for them?"

Celine laughed coldly. "Mrs. Tate Senior, must you ask about my father's ashes? My father is gone. To whom are you even speaking? He was never your biological son; he was adopted."

Sonia and Lucy froze, unprepared for Celine's revelation. Lucy asked, "Celine, how did you know?"

Celine stepped closer. "Mrs. Tate Senior, you rushed to conceive to secure your position, but failing to do so, you adopted my father. After his arrival, you conceived Hayden. He's your firstborn, Wayne your younger son—both your favorites. You've always been biased. My father knew he wasn't your biological child, yet he always deferred, treating you as his mother, building his career from scratch, and wholeheartedly supporting his brothers. As a son and older brother, he did nothing unjust to the Tate family! He repaid your kindness tenfold!"

Celine's words struck Sonia and Lucy; they hadn't anticipated her knowledge. How had she learned this? Celine then addressed Lucy: "My father truly loved you. He married, loved, protected, and spoiled you. Yet, what did you do to him?"

Lucy bristled. "Celine, what do you mean?"

"You know exactly what you did. How can you comfortably enjoy his wealth and legacy? Haven't you ever feared his ghost seeking retribution?"

Lucy's face paled. "Celine, what are you talking about?"

She slapped Celine, but Celine caught her wrist. Lucy gasped. "Celine, I'm your mother! How dare you?"

A cold gleam flashed in Celine's eyes. "Mother? You're one to talk!"

With a forceful jerk, Celine sent Lucy reeling backward into the wall. Sonia and Lucy were furious. "You've gone too far, Celine! Do you think dating Mr. Marshall grants you immunity? Men are unreliable; once he's done with you, you'll be a worthless housewife!"

Celine remained calm. "Is that so? We shall see."

She turned to leave, but Adam blocked her path. Celine glared. "And you, we'll see what happens!"

She left. Adam remained silent. Sonia shouted, "Mr. Alvarez, Celine is out of line! Has she lost her mind?"
