The call dropped. All that remained was the empty dial tone. Her brows furrowed deeply. What just happened? A terrible feeling settled in her gut. Perry was never like this. Had something happened? Then again, who would dare make a move against him? Given Perry’s status and influence, very few people would even dare to target him.

Celine immediately redialed his number but was met with a cold, automated voice. “Sorry, the number you have dialed is currently unavailable. Please try again later.”
