“Marry into the Carter family?” Matthew was taken aback. After all, he and Rachel were still getting to know each other. Why was marriage suddenly mentioned?

Nonetheless, Matthew maintained his composure for Rachel’s sake. Many questions filled his mind, but he couldn't ask them. Everyone present watched Matthew, eager to see his reaction. It was, after all, humiliating for a man to marry into a woman's family. Yet, Matthew's expression remained unchanged.

Everyone was surprised. How could Matthew show no reaction to the prospect of marrying into the Carter family? Quinn, who had anticipated a reaction, was disappointed. It seemed that using Rachel's gender to attack her was futile. He had no choice but to use his trump card. “Even if you don't marry into another family, you're still a woman.”

“The families we partner with are already dissatisfied with you. If they end the collaboration, many of our projects will grind to a halt. Can you shoulder this responsibility?”

Quinn, confident in the support of the White and Lloyd families, believed he would secure the presidency. But Rachel, growing more confident with each word, countered, “Who told you they’re dissatisfied with me? It seems we’ve received different reports.”

“I’ve heard that many families we’ve partnered with are very satisfied with my performance. They want to collaborate on further projects.”

Quinn sneered, finding Rachel arrogant. She had only been president for a few days, yet she seemed unaware of her place.

Among the families that had collaborated with the Carters, the Lloyd and White families were the most important. Quinn had discussed the matter with Rowan; Zayden, Malcolm’s classmate, was also involved. How could Rachel say such a thing?

Quinn immediately exposed Rachel's alleged lies. “Nonsense! How dare you say that? When I met with the head of the Lloyd family, he told me he would never collaborate with you.”

“Furthermore, the head of the White family has been busy recently. While I didn’t meet him, he has expressed his dissatisfaction with you.”

Everyone watched Quinn and Rachel engage in a heated argument, even drawing in the Carters' business partners. The silence that followed revealed the irreconcilable nature of the conflict between them.

Rachel looked at Quinn coldly. “Are you saying I’m lying? Since our relatives, friends, and business partners are here, let me say something.”

“If they don’t support my work, I will resign. Then, you can be president instead.”

“But what if they do support my work?”

Quinn hadn’t expected Rachel to state her position so directly. He hadn’t even needed to exert much effort. Without hesitation, he said, “If they support your work, I will never contest the presidency.”

“But that’s impossible. After all, they support me. You should resign, and I’ll become president of Wealthwave Group.”

Rachel stared at Quinn with a cold gaze. “You claim they’re dissatisfied with me, but I don’t believe you. I haven’t heard them say it personally. If they say it aloud, I will resign!”

Quinn's face held a sarcastic expression. “Since you’re unwilling to yield, I will have Mr. Lloyd say it in person. Then, you will give up!”

After saying that, he approached Rowan. With a smile, he said, “Mr. Lloyd, I’m sure you heard our conversation. Tell her who you support. Let her abandon her aspirations for the presidency.”

Rowan rose and addressed everyone. “I’m Rowan Lloyd, head of the Lloyd family. Since you asked who I support, I will give you a clear answer: I support Rachel.”

Quinn was stunned. Hadn’t Rowan supported him just the day before? Why the sudden change of heart?

“Mr. Lloyd, did you misspeak? Have you considered this carefully? Are you sure you support Rachel?”

Rowan raised his voice again. “I have considered this. I am quite calm. I will not collaborate with you. I will collaborate with whoever brings profit.”

“You and your father are useless. If Wealthwave Group falls into your hands, it will go bankrupt!”

Quinn’s face went pale. Not only had Rowan refused to support him, but he had also switched sides and insulted him. Quinn wanted to retaliate, but the Lloyd family’s power made him hesitant to offend them.

Even the previously silent Malcolm looked darkened but remained speechless. Meanwhile, a smile appeared on Rachel’s face. “Now that Mr. Lloyd has expressed his opinion, what else do you have to say?”

Quinn still didn’t want to concede. “The projects the Lloyd family collaborated on only account for one-third of our total projects. The White family has more. However, the head of the White family is in a meeting. He doesn’t have time to come here and express his opinion. Without Mr. White’s opinion, this bet doesn’t count.”

Just then, someone rose from a seat in the corner. “Quinn, I don’t have a meeting. I simply didn’t want to see you.”
